Saturday
Dear diary,
It has been over a month since I have gotten you! Today is the start of the weekend as another week of school has passed. This entire week was rather tiring. Our school has been planning our school festival soon. It has always consisted of many fun events! Too bad, I do not really have many friends in school.
The only person I usually talk to is my good friend Karin-chan. She is my deskmate and my favorite friend. We do eat lunch together once in a while, Karin has many other friends that she talks to after all. That is unlike me, haha. Anyways, our class is planning on doing a haunted house! Our school festival occurs on the 5th of November on Saturday three weeks later. We have been busy preparing the props after school. The lessons every day is still the usual. Basically, nothing much is different or interesting to write about on that part. But peace is good, Umi likes it when nothing bad happens.
Besides that, Umi has specially written this entry because Umi is alone at home for this weekend! Daddy has told Umi that he is busy this weekend as he has something to do. Therefore, daddy would not be home from Friday to Sunday. The last time I have seen daddy was on Friday morning which for some reason daddy was not wearing his usual work clothes. Daddy was dragging a small suitcase as he gave me a hug and told me that he would be back on Sunday night. If you are wondering whether Umi is lonely, she is completely fine. Daddy has always been gone during this 3-day period in October every year.
Anyways, Umi has gotten used to this by now. Daddy would keep some extra food in the refrigerator so that Umi could have many deliceous meals over the weekend. Looking inside, there is omurice for lunch today. I had riceballs and mayo karaage for dinner yesterday. Tonight's meals seems to be a simple meal with cabbage rolls, soy sauce salmon and miso soup. Looking good! Tomorrow's lunch looks to be curry pork katsu rice! Mmm, overnight curry always tastes good! Daddy did say that he would bring back sushi for tomorrow's dinner, so I can't wait!
I have already finished my homework earlier this morning and all I do right now is just lazing around while watching TV. The programs today are so boring. I would like to go out, but without daddy or anybody around it would be rather unsafe. I do not want to worry daddy, Umi is a good girl. Since I am so bored, why not let us talk about something more interesting? It would be nice to introduce myself since we are always talking to each other.
So hello diary, I am Umi. I am 12 this year starting from 1 September! My favorite color is pink, just like my hair! Daddy says that my hair is violet or purple in color, but I think pink looks much cuter! My favorite food is daddy's homemade karaage and very special fried rice that he cooks once in a while. I know what you are thinking, diary. You think that Umi thinks whatever daddy makes is the best, and you are right! However, daddy's fried rice is really special. I have eaten quite a lot of different fried rice at school or outside, and nothing even comes close to its taste! I have often asked daddy how to cook this. But for some reason, he does not want to tell me. I am sure daddy just thinks that I am unable to cook by myself for now. He will probably be amazed at how amazing a cook I will be once I get older! Where we live....err-that is a secret! Sorry diary, daddy told me not to tell senseetive information to strangers. Umi is deeply apollogetic.
Looking at the clouds outside the window, it looks like the perfect weather for a nap. You know, Umi...is getting kind of tired right now. Perhaps, I will go and snooze right now. I hope that daddy comes back soon.
