Chapter 64

-------------------------------------------

Adrian wore a meek smile on his face, as he quickly bowed down in front of the Zapdos and spoke,

[M-My Lady! I was busy delaying their invasion. But! Those damned followers of Moltres and Articuno..]

[They proved to be very devious instead! They tried to destroy everything and kill everyone before once, but we tried our best to retaliate.]

[Now, your followers have become too weak! Their bodies cannot handle such strain for much longer..]

[Also! The enemies came with a much larger force than before. They have new weapons with them with which they can destroy us before we can even battle them!]

[The time is very crucial, My Lady & we must act smartly. I suggest that we must focus on destroying their massive weapons firstly, before we proceed to trample upon their armies.]

[Your followers have awaited to be able to worship you, My Lady. You are their only hope left.]

The Zapdos felt itself unable to calm down anymore, as it roared towards the skies above,

[THOSE INSECTS!! HOW DARE THEY TOUCH MY FOLLOWERS?!]

[THEY PLAN TO WEAKEN MY INFLUENCE IN THIS PATHETIC MANNER? HAH! I GAVE THOSE TWO TOO MUCH CREDIT! THEY ARE NOT EVEN WORTH IT!]

[MY PEOPLE.. THEY HAVE SUFFERED TOO MUCH!!]

[AND WHAT WEAPONS? CAN ANYTHING STAND IN MY WAY? THIS LADY SHALL PROVE JUST WHAT SHE CAN DO BY HERSELF!]

Before Adrian could even direct the Legendary bird on what to do, it flew away from him and quickly rose above the thunderclouds.

Adrian stared at the clouds above, as his plan of taming the Zapdos seemed to be going down the drain.

(...Zapdos is too impulsive!...I hope everything works out well...)

Adrian knew that there was no use waiting anymore and quickly rushed towards the direction of the Camp walls.

Only he could calm the angry bird if anything went wrong.

----------------------------------

As the City Lord's son, Martin finished inspecting his siege weapons, he felt someone approaching, as the Duke walked near him and gazed towards the massive weapons as well.

[It certainly is a masterpiece, Lord Martin. But, it must have cost a lot, right? Only someone like you can easily mobilize such force so quickly.]

The City Lord's son felt his ego being stroked and grinned happily, as he gazed at his weapons lovingly.

[Well of course. Who else dares to compare to me? I am the reason that my poor City became so rich and influential after all. There is nothing that my power cannot achieve, and today I shall prove what it means to challenge my authority.]

The Duke nodded once, before he turned to look towards the distant Camp and smirked as he spoke,

[Well, the man you want, that Adrian.. he is still within the Camp. I have received confirmation from my spies placed inside. He won't be able to run away from his fate anymore, Milord.]

The City Lord's son laughed out loudly, as he clutched his stomach to soothe the pain from laughing so hard.

[Hahahahaha! T-There's just no way! Even if he plans to escape today, my mighty army will chop his head off instead! Today is his last day being alive. Soon, there won't be anyone called Adrian alive in this world anymore...]

The flame of revenge burned in his eyes, as he looked towards his best subordinate, the commander of this siege to begin attacking.

The commander turned to address his army, as he gave the directions to his direct subordinates.

And so, the stationed army began their march towards the Camp. The morale among the troops was sky high. Every soldier wanted to at least get the chance to kill someone and hopefully raid and ravage the place to their heart's fullest.

----------------------------------

As Adrian climbed up the stairs of the Tower, he saw the opposing army to be approaching towards them slowly.

His sight turned towards the guards stationed on hs side. Most of them were positioned in a certain formation to prevent fatigue from fighting long battles.

(...Zendra worked very hard indeed.. but the soldiers don't look that good...)

Their initial excitement had already died down, as the seeds of despair started to bloom upon seeing the army approaching them.

Many among them had already given up the hopes of even surviving the event and just hoped to be able to protect their families.

Adrian turned to look towards the dark clouds overhead, as he hoped that the Legendary bird would give some hope to these despairing soldiers instead.

(...it's all upto you now, Zapdos...we can win or die, anything can happen.. do your best and act carefully...)

Adrian hoped that his thoughts and feelings would reach the Zapdos and it must not lose it's composure due to it's anger.

From his memories of the past, Zapdos has been an impulsive Pokemon who used less brain and more might.

If it was up to his choice, he would have chosen a different, much smarter Pokemon to complement his devious mind.

Alas, fate never works according to your wishes, and Adrian received a headstrong bird instead.

He himself knew that his life was at stake and so he hoped for Zapdos to save his skin from being butchered.

(...think positively.. after all, what else could go wrong, right?...)
