“Well that's lame, why bother staying there?” Tidal asked.

I frowned back at him, “Why?”

Tidal nodded, “If you don’t get anything for standing around in there handing out quests why do it?”

“I enjoy helping people.” I replied, it wasn’t a complete answer to the question, rather it was only a small part of it, but in truth I had no answer for the question as a whole.

“You enjoy helping people, but you're basically following me around causing me more work?” Tidal asked.

“I’m here to make sure you help Hagas.” I asserted.

“Right…” Tidal groaned. He paused looking at the tracks, “Guess they turn here…” and he started off the small path that we’d been walking along since we left the field.

I followed behind glancing this and that way. I couldn’t help but feel a bit disappointed that there weren't more people out here. Not specifically the field, but beyond the Mirana Guild Hall. I did however find myself curious and looking at the trees, grass, and even the dirt path we were traveling.

I glanced up at a sound, Tidal had pulled out his blade.

I wasn’t sure what for however. I glanced around looking perhaps to find the before-mentioned goblins. I didn’t see anything so I spoke up, “Tidal, what are you doing?” I asked as he dodged one way, then the other.

Then in an instant, there were goblins. Five of them had gathered and were enclosing around Tidal. I was shocked that they had simply appeared, was that how it always was?

“Little busy!” Tidal replied as he dodged and awkwardly blocked the goblin's blades. Still, some of them managed to get through and jab him in the legs.

“That's ok. I see them now.” I replied, declining my previous questions as it no longer remained valid.

After saying that Tidal danced backward trying to put some space between himself and the goblins before he began chugging a potion. With the momentary reprieve, he had granted himself the goblins all made strange sounds and tried to find a way to surround him once again.

One of them glanced toward me and let out a shrill cry. He charged toward me, and after a few moments of standing there, I had the sudden need to move. I quickly picked up speed running away from the goblin, and spoke with casual dialog, “Help adventurer.”

“Are you fucking kidding me!?” Tidal cried out breaking into a run after me. I spent my time keeping my distance from the goblin which was only getting closer.

“Run away! Go back to the farmer!” Tidal cried out towards me.

I stopped running away and turned to confront him, “But I need to see you complete his quest.”

“What!? Run away, you stupid bimbo!” Tidal yelled at me clearly out of anger rather than concern.

The goblin had caught up now that I was stopped, and it promptly stabbed me in the leg.

I cried out, “A monster! Help me adventurer!” from my casual dialog. But my attention was on Tidal, if he was going to kill the goblins, I needed to watch and make sure.

Tidal finally reached us, as the goblin stabbed me again. Tidal however was true to his word and his sword came down once, and then twice the third time impaling the creature and sending it down to the ground in a heap of purple blood.

“Thank you adventurer.” I replied from casual dialog.

“My god you're an idiot…” Tidal complained before turning around and rushing back towards the other goblins.

I watched as Tidal whittled them down, having to use another healing potion in the process. But then it was done.

Once he finished he glanced back at me, “Do I get a bonus or something from you watching?”

I wasn’t sure what he meant, “I’m simply ensuring that you completed the quest.” I asserted again. I couldn't help but wonder why I needed to assert the same thing so many times, it was like he wasn’t listening to me at all.

“Yeah…” He said sheathing his blade and walking back towards the farm, past me. “Well, I’m filing a bug report.”

“There are no bugs in Mirana Guild Hall.” I replied.

“Well we aren't at the guild now are we.” He snorted.

I followed behind Tidal as he plodded his way back down the path and then over to the field to Hagas.

When we returned, Hagas beamed, “Thank you, adventurer! With those goblins dealt with I can finally focus on bringing in the next harvest!”

“Congratulations Hagas, I’m so glad I was able to find someone to complete your quest.” I beamed as well.

He didn’t reply, but instead just smiled at us both.

“Do you have another quest Tidal can help with? It's nice to have someone as reliable as him around.”

Tidal grimaced at my words.

Hagas looked at me, “I have two quests, you can help weed my garden, or you can collect seeds from the forest.” he said with a chipper attitude.

I looked at Tidal who looked at me and then Hagas, “I already did those.”

Hagas just looked at me however.

I turned to Tidal, “Perhaps he needs more weeding and seeds?”

“No, No, Nope!” Tidal replied as he stormed back towards the road as if suddenly realizing something.

I frowned at the sudden turn of the discussion and as I left,  I spoke to Hagas from casual dialog, “Have a good day!”

Hagas waved and replied, “See you next time adventurer.”

I caught up with Tidal after a few minutes of walking, “Are you sure you didn’t want to do another quest? They sounded easier than the goblins.”

“Well of course they are easier, they are his first quests. I did them when I was first exploring this area, it was before I joined the guild and started having you give me quests instead of looking for them myself.” Tidal explained with severity.

“Maybe I can offer those quests to someone else at the guild hall.” I said. I was glad that I had completed my task of ensuring that Tidal did his quest.

“I doubt it, most of the people in the guild have already done those early quests.” Tidal replied.

“Is there a problem with that? Why not help him out again?” I asked.

Tidal gave me a confused look, “That's not how quests work you idiot. You do them, and then they are done. Unless they are dailies or whatever.”

I frowned at not understanding what he meant.

He seemed to take my expression as an answer and grumbled, “You know what, just shut up, I’m done with this stupid quest, and you can just stop following me around.”

His words were a bit shocking, but I had at least completed my task. Rather than following Tidal, I decided to return to my normal position behind the counter, it was where I was supposed to be after all.

After a moment, Tidal, who was still walking along the road to the side of me, said, “Well?”

I stopped, pausing to reply to him, “Well what?”

Tidal stopped in his tracks and glared at me.

After a time of him not answering me, I resumed walking even as Tidal just stood there glaring after me. Soon enough the sight of Mirana Guild Hall ahead on the road was obvious. I gladly approached, and as I let the door close behind me, the day ended.

DM: Tidal & Bason

Tidal: You ever do a quest to kill goblins up at that farm?

Bason: Sure, I think I remember something like that.

Tidal: Did you take the guild npc with you when you did it?

Bason: LOL

Bason: No way, what the hell is that?

Tidal: I thought that was way to fucking meta. She asked to go with me.

Bason: Anything cool happen?

Tidal: Not really, I had to save her from a goblin.

Tidal: At the time I thought it was some weird fucking escort element.

Tidal: She wouldn’t shut up the whole time, then she just stood there getting hit.

Bason: Weird.

Bason: I wonder if I could get her to go on a quest with me.

Tidal: You try it?

Bason: She just said something about me being the one to do the quests. Lame.

Tidal: LOL, this game has some weird bugs at times.

Bason: Right? Ask Kervick what happened the other day, LMAO for a good thirty minutes on that one.
