The next day, we went back to the location to loot more after we had breakfast

While were looting, I took a glass bottle and filled it with gasoline I found at a gas station and shoved a piece of cloth on the top

"What are you doing?"

"Its a molotov, Iam gonna need explosives if I have to fight magic"

Soon, we finished looting the area with scattered dead soldiers and decided to loot somewhere else 

"Lets go get food this time, perhaps the supermarket or the mall will do"

"Lets go to the mall, Ive always wanted to hangout there with a friend" 

"Alright then"

We went to the mall and cleared the area before we started looting

"Its pretty cold in here, theres demons up ahead you ready Miyu?"

"Yeah, lets get this done and go shopping hehe"

Miyu's eyes turns red 

*Glass breaking* I threw the molotov on the pact of demons burning the ones who got caught in the fire

Miyu creates a sword made of her dark energy and attacked the demons swiftly, while I provide her fire support

*BANG* Iam glad I took the assault rifle this time, it would be hard sniping in this situation but I still brought it just in case

Demons attacked from every angle but me and Miyu protected each others back, unlike before

LOOK OUT! Projectiles made of ice came out of nowhere stabbing into my shoulder

Tsk, Ice? It must be magic, so thats why it was cold, an ice demons is living in this place

I took cover and removed the spike of ice from my shoulder

"Miyu, over there in the second floor" I pointed out the demon with ice covering most of its body parts as armor

The demon started launching icicles on Miyu, Miyu dodges them swiftly while closing in on the demon

*BANG* I sniped the demon's eye since its the only part without ice

*Clung* Miyu teleports behind the demon and tried slashing its back

"its too thick, Ishigami, do you still have one of those fire grenades?" Miyu teleports back to distance herself from the enemy

"I still have one on me, I need to get closer, maybe I can melt the ice with it" 

*BANG* I fired some shots on the ice demon to distract it while its trading attacks with Miyu

DAMN IT! A normal demon attacked me, grabbing my arms trying to push me down

Tsk its so strong, my shoulder is bleeding, I cant keep pushing it back for too long 

I kicked its leg knocking it off balance, I pulled out my pistol as soon as I got free and shot its head multiple times

"Are you okay down there?"

"Yeah Iam fine" 

I lit the molotov and ran up the stairs, after I got into a good range I threw the molotov on the demon setting on fire, the ice armor started to melt making the demon vulnerable

*Splatter* Miyu teleports behind the demon and sliced it in half 

"Ugh that was a tough fight, oh you look pale, are you okay?" 

"Yeah Iam fine, just a scratch" 

"Your bleeding, sit down I'll heal you first"

Miyu sat me down on a bench and starts using healing magic on my wound

"There its fixed, alright lets go shopping hehe, sadly theres no more sweets to buy, maybe lets go get clothes instead"

"Alright alright, the area seems clear but dont let your guard down"

Miyu dragged me around the desserted mall as if we were shopping

Is this a date, its one hell of a first date to kill demons if it is

"Ishigami look try this on, oh wow it looks great on you" 

"It does?, Just call me Kazuha"

"Okay, Kazuha Kazuha does this look good on me" Miyu tried on a blue dress and showed it to me

"It looks cute on you, maybe I should get some clothes too, this military uniform stinks"

"Oh...thanks, y-yeah you should definetly get some new clothes" Miyu turned red and continued going around the shops

Hmm lets see, are there any hoodies around here, I used to wear hoodies all the time before this all happened, oh found one

I found a black hoodie and wore it, just like what I used to wear, I got some spares aswell just incase 

Finally got rid of this sweaty uniform, Oh Miyu might like that thing

I found a stuffed animal, I havent gotten Miyu anything so I decided to take it for her

"Miyu, I got you something"

"it looks cute, thanks, Iam done picking clothes, you wanna go home now?"

"Alright, lets go home"

While were walking home..

"What did you get Kazuha?"

"A pair of pants, a shirt and this jacket how about you"

"I got this shirt and this skirt, also the dress in the bag"

"Seems like you enjoyed, uh Miyu, is it hard to use your magic?" 

"Hmm, a little bit, I just have to concentrate my energy into shape, like those swords I made, the healing magic is a bit difficult while teleportation is moderately hard depending on the range, why do you ask?"

"Just felt curious, anyway, we looted alot these days so we can finally relax now, did you have fun shopping?"

"Yeah, that was fun, Ive never been to an empty mall hehe"

We got home safely and rested, the next day...

"Ah Iam bored, Kazuha lets go out somewhere"

"Alright, where do you want to go"

"The park, lets take a walk around the park"

We went to the parked to walk around but..

We came across military trucks

"Miyu hide your horns" Whats the army doing here, tsk if they find us, they'll bring us back to the city, they might discover Miyu

We hid behind the bushes and quietly watched the soldiers patrolling the area

"Kazuha get down!" 

There was a demon hiding behind us and attacked me, it forced Miyu to use her magic to help me and...

"Kazuha are you oka--"

*BANG* Miyu was shot, the soldiers approached us, Miyu tried using her healing magic but a soldier kicked her

MIYU! I shouted, while the soldiers take me away from her

"Ka..zuha..." Miyu fainted 

"Wait I know this kid, his one of the soldiers that was dispatched here a few weeks ago, I thought all of them died, why was he protecting that demon"

"Did you see her magic?, Shes a shadow demon we'll definetly get alot of money for this" the soldiers chattered while bringing me back to their trucks feeling defeated, not even raising a finger to help Miyu 

I guess happiness doesnt last after all
