Jack, breathing heavy, falls on his back “Fhew-let me check the rewards for that real quick…” Tabbing through to the correct tab, Jack pauses for a moment “Oh fuck.”

Quickly tabbing out, Jack whips around “Always a phase two! Agh! I should’ve seen this coming!” In front of him, the pair of legs have grown higher, knees back in place, and torso being steadily built. Before he can act on anything Jack feels a brush against his right tail, looking behind him, he sees a small bush had brushed it “That’s wei- no way- no no no-” Quickly, Jack hops to the side, looking around him, more focused on the treeline, Jack notices something “That… is much closer. Yep, Yep. This is a boss fight.”

The various trees and shrubbery all around the surrounding area have started moving towards Jack, moving ever so slowly you’d miss it if you weren’t paying attention “Huh, those ones haven’t moved… makes it much more obvious… well, not my concern.” Jack slowly backs up to the coastline, getting closer to the water, watching his steps. When he reaches the water- Tree line much tighter, and the big tree already up to the arms- he dives into the safety of the water “Yeah, I need to reposition. I don’t care if they might heal faster from water or whatever.” And with that, Jack starts crawling on the bottom of the ocean floor, heading to his meteor.

While crawling however, something grabs his leg “Oh no.” looking back, he sees a piece of seaweed wrapping around him “All of them, really? No safety anywhere then. –Wait, what’s that?” Squinting a bit, Jack notices a large wriggling mass of what seems to be snakes coming towards him at a rapid pace “Shit-Shit-Shit-Shit-” Slicing off the seaweed with his tail, Jack preps his beam, crab walking on his back to gain distance.

Tensing both his tails against his back, Jack flicks them into the ground, firing his beam. The beam shoots forward, pushing Jack back and evaporating the water behind him, blasting through the wriggling mass and into the island behind it. Jaw hurting Jack fixes his posture “Woah! That was really uncomfortable, felt like my neck was going to fall off!” he quickly skitters to an unplanted area of the water floor “Okay so, I can’t kill that thing with anything I have right now. Sure, my beams can hurt it, but it doesn’t seem like it’s too phased… also I think I just saw it move while being split up earlier… which is new… so I need something new.”

Yeah... gonna be inconsistent... but I have fun writing this.   Might be a statblock interlude next chapter.
