I swing my sword to the right and cut the beowolf coming at us into two. Nora and Ren release a sigh after killing the last beowolf. This has become a hard fight. The Alpha is smart enough to not charge at us immediately but rather send the weaker Grimm to make us exhausted and weaken us.

"Let's rest for a moment. The Alpha should be in the cave a few hundred meters from here."

Ren nodded his head, grateful for me letting them rest. While Nora and I were doing fine, Ren did not really have the same stamina as us. While I'm only starting my training not too long ago, I'm still a Witcher. My body adapts faster than an average human. Not only that, combine it with a potion I make, I can safely say that I reach the physical ability of an official huntsman.

I just need to increase my endurance to compensate for the lack of aura inside my body. I really need to increase the intensity of the beating machine in Eli.

"Do we have any food left, Renny?"

"We don't, Nora. You eat the last beef jerky."

"Awww"

I look at them for a second before saying.

"You guys did not have more ration?"

"No, sir."

I release a sigh and say,

"Then let us hunt some animal."

"I don't think it was a good idea, sir. We did not have much ammunition like yours."

"Don't worry about it. Here."

I take out two silent pistols from my bag and toss them toward Nora and Ren. This is the pistol that I use when I hunt some animals when I'm still in Kuchinashi. This pistol did not really release any sound. It still released a sound, but it was like the sound of a whisper.

"We will hunt using those pistols. I will lend you that. There should be eight bullets in the chamber. That should be enough to hunt a deer. Come on."

Ren looks at the figure of Angelo for a second before nodding his head. He did not know what to think about Angelo. The older man is the only hunter that is willing to take them on his mission without thinking twice. On the other hand, Ren is slightly suspicious of the man himself.

He knows that not all huntsmen are good people. He met many huntsmen that are not good people. In Mistral, many hunters do not work for the government and only work for money. Not only that, but many huntsmen work for criminals.

"Watch out!"

Ren snaps from his thoughts when he hears Angelo's voice and sees a Beowolf leap toward him, but before it could do that, Angelo appears between him and the Grimm and then cuts the Grimm.

Angelo and Ren before saying.

"What are you daydreaming about? We are in the middle of a forest infested with Grimm. Let me tell you the first rule of huntsmen. Always watch your surroundings because a Grimm can leap out of nowhere."

"I'm sorry."

"Don't be sorry. Be better."

Ren nods his head and sees Angelo look at him before nodding his head as well.

"Good. Do you get any injuries?"

"No, sir."

"Good. Come on."

After saying that, Angelo, Ren, and Nora continue to track down the deer trail.

A few hours later, they get a medium-sized deer that is ready to be skinned. Angelo decides he will be the one skinning the deer and let Nora and Ren prepare the campfire.

After making the campfire and setting the tent, Ren looks at Angelo, busy draining the deer's blood. While waiting for the deer to dry out of blood, he sat down in front of the campfire. Seeing his chance, Ren decides to ask him about something.

"Sir, can I ask you something?"

"Call me Angelo, and yes, you can."

"Can I ask the reason why you decided to take us on your mission?"

Angelo looked at him for a moment before saying.

"You will not believe when I say that your partner succeeded in convincing me, right?"

"No. I will not. Nora is not a negotiation type of person."

"Hey! What's that mean?!?" Nora shouted when she heard Ren say that. "I can be a negotiation-type person!"

Both Ren and Angelo decide to ignore her, and after a few seconds, Angelo says,

"To be honest with you, I see a part of me in you. I'm also an orphan who tries to forge my way alone. However, what makes us different is that you have a companion with you. A companion that makes you not feel alone in this cruel world. I guess it was a combination of pity and how you two are like me. Not in appearance, but rather we are similar in our fate. An orphaned child who tries their best to survive in this world, but unlike me, you have someone to accompany you through the harsh world."

Angelo's past is not a bright one. He is an orphan in Kuchinashi city, and it was not a pleasant experience. His caretaker is an abusive person who orders the orphan to beg for money in the street while she enjoys the money.

When he reached the age of ten, Angelo decided to get out of the orphanage and try his luck in the street. Lucky for him, one of the criminal families is willing to take him to be their cleaning boy. At first, he only cleans the safehouse they stay in, but he gets roped into a body cleaning duty when he reaches the age of twelve.

He helped the older people to make the corpse disappear from the world. With the help of a combination of lightning, fire, and some poison made from a plant, they can dissolve the human body.

This is the reason why Angelo was not really disturbed when he killed the bandit. While he never killed anyone, he already met many kinds of corpses.

"As I said, you and I are the same but also different. You have Nora, who is your best friend and maybe something more while I only have myself. Never let her go because being alone is not a pleasant experience."

Nora and Ren stay silent for a moment before suddenly the orange-haired girl gets up from the ground and shouts.

"Then we will not let you become lonely!"

"What?!?"

"Ren-Ren and I will accompany you through your journey! We have more than three months before we go to Beacon. We will accompany you through your journey so that you will not feel lonely anymore!"

Angelo looks at Nora as if she just said something inappropriate before looking at Ren, who has a small smile on his face before saying.

"Please tell me she is joking."

"I'm sorry, Angelo, but she is serious."

"Dammit."

Angelo said that without any malice behind it. While he has Elizabeth, he still feels a little bit lonely lately.
