*Bam Bam Bammm*

Two young figures were seen fighting in a desolate place as numerous statues surrounded them. They exchanged several strikes as the bloody sky watched over them, but as they were focused on fighting each other, neither of them gave it even a little though.

*Bamm*

"Guhhhhh....

Several punches heavily hit Wan Bo's body, one of them hitting him in the stomach. It made him want to throw up, but he only gritted his teeth and kept his gloved hands up. Several more punches followed making him want to give up, surrender, but he still waited. He knew that the demonic clone in front of him, even though as powerful as him, was more skilled than him so he could only wait for an opening, and an opening came. He noticed that the clone was about to deliver a strong punch to his head, finally breaking his guard and knocking him down, so he immediately countered.

"Huaap...

He was faster than the clone, his fist faster, and the clone couldn't defend or doge the punch in time, but reality was often disappointing.

*Bam* *Crack*

Two sounds were clearly heard and Wan Bo fell to the ground as he painfully held his right hand. It was very strange to see this happen as Wan Bo was the one who managed to hit the clone, but the clones experience and ruthlessness triumphed Wan Bo's will and strategy. The punch that was supposed to hit the clone in the face had instead hit him on the most thick part of the skull when the clone lowered his head.

This was a dangerous move as it also hurt the user , especially if he was off, but the upside was robbing the opponent of one of his weapons. Also, not to mention the damage to morale and the piercing pain it would cause, it was quite a devilish technique.

*Bam*

"Fuck...." was the only thing Wan Bo sad as his clones fist hit him on the shoulder and to the ground. Now on the ground, Wan Bo who didn't know any martial arts for grappling, steeled himself and tried to defend as best as he could.

"Come on!" taunted Wan Bo as the clone begun to circle him.

*Clap Clap Clap*

Someone clapped three times as the clone was about to attack Wan Bo again, making the clone stop and turn into a statue. As he saw this Wan Bo heaved a sigh of relief  and relaxing as he knew it was over.

"Good, good. Wan Bo, you've lost more than a thousand times in the last month , but you've also grown. At least you don't close your eyes everytime you get hit." said Rey as he appeared behind Wan Bo who had completely recovered at the moment. His fatigue expelled and his wounds disappeared. It wasn't something new ,but Wan Bo couldn't help but marvel at this everytime.

"You're too generous master. " said Wan Bo as he bowed with a bitter face. What Rey said was true and Wan Bo knew it , but hearing it being said by someone else made Wan Bo irritated.

Seeing this response, Rey burst into laughter." Hahahahaha.... my disciple, it seems like you think you're inadequate, but I would be surprised if you could actually win. The skill gap between the clone and you is to great, so you shouldn't feel down, but it also seems that this is the the limit for now. Training with the clone is good and all, but it also makes you hesitate and less flexible in your thinking. I'm sure you have noticed by now that the martial art the clone is using is one that exclusively uses fists, and the way to counter that is by using kicks to keep out of his reach , or maybe bring him to the ground, but you don't have the knowledge to. The 'Mist Form' your Sect has taught you is effective , but only on opponents in the same  skill level as you.

It's time for you to take another mission to hone your skills."

"Master!" exclaimed Wan Bo solemnly, but deep down he was happy. If he went on a mission then it surely would mean the battle training would stop for the meantime.

............

"Haahh hahh haaahh....

The very next day, early in the morning Wan Bo was doing his routine running as instructed by Rey under the disdainful eyes of the other fellow disciples, but he didn't care at all. Their disdainful gazes washing over him were nothing in comparison to a liver punch. In fact it made him pity them as they were like a calm spring breeze to him.

"Haahh...hahhh....huuk...

The running was very hard for him in the beginning , but after two weeks it became almost therapeutic. It calmed his mind and brought him in a state of euphoria that made him energized for the rest of the day, but this could only be attempted by very few people. As cultivation existed in this world, you only had to absorb the Qi in the atmosphere to increase your strength and vitality , so physical training was disdained as a inferior type of training. This conclusion wasn't without merit as after the Body Formation stage physical training was useless, but this didn't matter to the current Wan Bo. He was completely dedicated to the instructions Rey gave him.

After Wan Bo finished his running, he started to cultivate as he used his Stardew Body , his cultivation technique. It wasn't a very good cultivation technique, but it was decent for Wan Bo whose main spiritual root was water, followed by wind. Wan Bo sat down crosslegged and slowly started to breath in and out in a peculiar manner. It seemed like he was breathing in something, and it wouldn't be wrong to assume that Wan Bo was inhaling the Qi in the atmosphere through his nose, but it was wrong. The breathing was meant for his Water element Qi inside his body to resonate with the one in the atmosphere and to also expand and retract his spirit. Each inhalation expanded the spirit, and each exhalation retracted it, attracting the Qi where it could be absorbed by the body. This of course wasn't known by Wan Bo, but to Rey who was essentially a spirit , it was as clear as day.
