‘Everyone, fall back! This heat may be too much for us to handle!’

‘Agreed, it’s so bright I can barely see what’s happening!’

CHAPTER ZERO: CATASTROPHE

It is a catastrophic evening in the nation of Topol. Its major nuclear power plant is undergoing a meltdown for seemingly unknown reasons. For its residents and the general populace of Rethando, this looks like a case of modern technology failing society. But, for a select few...

‘Vanguard, get behind my shield! Initiate Mode Minus K!

It’s an opportunity for cooperation against the supernatural.

Grazie, ADAMAS! Il Fulmine's now locked and loaded!’

‘Aerise, aim for its right wing while I get its left. Vive la Lerulce!

As advanced as Rethando may seem, it was not prepared for foreign invaders. Waging wars brought enough practice and experience the Rethandic people needed in facing each other. To them, however, this is like introducing calculus to a toddler who had just begun to count.

They knew combat, but not "that" combat.

KUOLLAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

‘Glory to Mother Armatum! Tunguska, fire!’

‘Materialise Claiomh Solais and Snow White.’

Yet despite the unfair odds, these beings continue to battle for the safety of their land. Uniting to face threats from beyond their plane surely paints Rethando better than your typical politics. These beings — no, heroes — are putting their lives on the line to subdue a god.

‘Ugh… I couldn’t… do it...’

‘Fuchsia! You’re being too reckless! Get behind my shield and attack from a distance!’

‘ADAMAS, your shield’s falling apart!’

Sadly, the mortal intellect has its limits. Amidst the presence of a divine being, advanced technology and technique fade into patheticism.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! IS THAT ALL?

‘Fuchsia! Reindirri- Ack!’

And unlike a god, a mortal is forced to deal with the consequences... of death.

‘Oh… shit…’

‘Damn it. Our first loss...’

‘Fuchsia, my comrade! Wake up!

FUCHSIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!’
