I feel like a lot of iseaki stories waste the potential of other reincarnators, especially so in otome iseaki. Authors tend to either just make them 1 dimensionally evil, or hold their cards way too close to their chest meaning that you never see the protagonist and fellow off-worlder interact. Its one of my bigger gripes with the genre.

"Here's the place!"

The boss and his boys lead me to their favorite watering hole, 'The lily's dew', so that we can catch up over drinks. Two buff, armed women stand at the door acting like bouncers.

"Don't worry about these guys, Lass. They look tough but they won't do anything unless you try to smuggle weapons in or hit on them. Last guy who tried the latter can only eat soup because he's missing so many teeth."

"So weapons are banned here?"

"Yeah its why we drink here, lass. Security is tight enough that even those organization goons have trouble getting through."

"Theres even anti-magic metal installed in the ceiling, so mages can't cast girly."

"Besides drunks and pointy things are a bad combo, little miss."

When we get to the bouncers boss and the others pass over their swords. Then it gets to my turn. I start off by emptying each of my hidden compartments in my clothes resulting in roughly 15 knives (bouncers really gawked at the vanta black one), I unattach the hidden blade mechanism in my shoes, hand over the enchanted object that generates bullets because it has an option to fire them using the object as a last resort, relinquish my staff, give them my revolver, and finally Lavalivarus refuses to leave my hand.

[YOU'RE ABANDONING ME?!]

I'm not even griping the handle. He's stuck himself to my palm. I can't even shake him off.

"WEAPONS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN HERE DAMMIT! I'LL PICK YOU UP LATER, SO UNATTACH!"

[NO NO NO NO I DON'T WANT TO BE LEFT WITH THESE RANDOM AMAZONIAN WOMEN! WHAT IF I STOP EXSISTING WHEN I'M NOT OBSERVED!]

"HOLY SHIT THEN LEAVE THE VESSEL THEN, CHRIST!"

[B-but I want to stay in a vessel, I don't want to go into my shapeless form. It makes me feel less... concrete. Can't you just pretend the revolver isn't a weapon and bring me in that way?]

"WELL ITS FAR TO LATE FOR THAT, JUST GIVE UP!"

Boss finally musters up the courage to ask a question.

"Uhhhh, why are you yelling at your sword?"

"I'LL EXPLAIN IT LATER, BOSS! OI BOUNCER CAN I BORROW A SWORD REAL QUICK?"

Both of the bouncers started spacing out after all the hidden blades in my shoes, but one of them snaps out of it at my call. They cautiously hand me their sword.

[PLEASE NO DON'T! DON'T LEAVE ME HERE MASTER! MAST-]

Everyone flinches when I cut off my hand. This silence is kinda nice after that temper tantrum.

"Heres your sword back, I suggest you grab my sword by my severed hand. If you touch the sword itself, you'll probably get an earful."

"HOLY SHIT MA'AM ARE YOU OK? YOU JUST CUT OFF YOU YOUR OWN HAND!"

"Relax, its fine."

[Superior heal]

"See all better know."

My hand sprouts back up, but that make the bouncer pale even more.

"A-a-a-a-a-ah... yeah I see."

She goes up to the other bouncer and in a hushed whisper she goes,

"Sarah, can you please get the owner? I really don't think either of us are qualified to deal with whatever the hell that was just now."

"What would the owner even do?! It didn't even flinch when it cut its own hand off!"

"Well we can't just leave . . ."

Her eyes wander over and meet mine. I smile at her, which she responds by quickly avoiding my gaze and shuddering.

"That in front of the bar."

"What am I even supposed to say, Susan? How the hell am I suppose to describe that. Just look at its eyes, the thing clearly isn't human."

"Look Sarah, if you don't want to go get the owner, you'll have to stay with it. I get you're intimidated by Melissa, but speaking with her is probably easier than watching that."

"...fine."

With that Sarah rushes inside. The other bouncer lets boss and his boys in but keeps me outside. She attempts to initiate conversation, but I'm a little peeved about how they were talking about me.

"S-sorry for the inconvenience, but can you wait out here for a bit?"

"..."

I stare at her. She shudders. That doesn't stop me. A tense silence follows for a few minutes. Finally she breaks and speaks up.

"U-umm, N-nice weather this evening, right haha...?"

"No."

"Oh... umm... O-ok?"

Silence falls over us again. I can see the gears turn in her head.

"Oh hobbies! Do you have any hobbies?"

"Hunting."

I stare deep into her eyes. She's sweating bullets.

"W-what do you hunt?"

I don't respond. I merely move a little bit closer, my eyes never leaving hers.

"A-ah... umm"

"..."

"A-are you angry?"

"...perhaps."

Her face is as pale as a goblin's at this point. I take another step foward and she falls on her butt. I look down at her.

"H-hiih!"

As her panick reaches its zenith, someone new comes on to the scene.

"Yo! Are you the troublesome patron I've been told about?"

She's tall and slender. Her armor is light, but the axe on her back looks heavy. Her eyepatch in the shape of a lily matches her white hair. I suppose she's the owner?

"Oh am I considered troublesome? I thought I was following the rules to the best of my ability though."

She looks over to the bouncer,

"Susan, why don't you go on break? I'll deal with this customer."

"T-thank you!"

She scurries off back inside.

"Now then, the names Melissa and I'm the owner of this establishment. Why don't you tell me why you were menacing my staff?"

"Menacing? I was merely expressing my discontent with the service. I followed all of the bouncers' instructions and then I was denied entrance. They even had the gall to treat me like some kind of monster. I think you can hardly blame me for being miffed over such treatment."

"Hmmm, is that so? I'll be honest and say that from what I've heard from Sarah, I don't want you in my establishment. However three of my regulars vouched heavily for you, so I'll give you a single chance."

"Oh yeah?"

"I'll let you stay in my bar if you can beat me to a drinking contest. Hell I'll even give you free drinks for a lifetime, but if you lose... I don't want to see you in my sights ever again."

"Deal."
