"Weekly discount?"

Alex looked at the new feature that had appeared in his hero shop and exclaimed in delight. In front of him was a system prompt that shocked him.

[New hero shop feature: Weekly discount! Every week, one item in the hero shop will have a discount. The discount rate will be based upon your luck.]

Below that prompt was the item that was listed on the weekly discount and it was the one that Alex coveted for a while.

– Made by the Alkemi empire which was famous for advancements in the field of Alchemy.

– Can be used to make a breakthrough or increase physical stats.

– There's a 20 percent chance of the serum backfiring and having unusual side effects.

– The user will witness an incredible amount of pain after the usage of the serum.

It was the same item that Alex wanted and coincidentally, it was the first item to be listed on the weekly discount. Though, he wasn't sure if it was really coincidental.

'Am I really that lucky? Or is it just something else? Do I also have convenient plot armour?'

Alex thought back to the time when he had selected the hero path.

Even at that time, Uncle Ben had suddenly appeared in front of him when he was out taking a walk. Not wanting to see him die when he could save him, Alex had selected the hero option.

Even at that time, he had felt like it was too odd of an occurrence.

Now, he was feeling the same. 

He wasn't able to shrug off the possibility that someone was pulling strings from somewhere and he had no control over it. If it was the same person that has transported Alex to the Marvel world, then it was best to not go against him or her.

At least until he gets to know the intentions behind all this.

'For now, I guess I can just go along with it.'

He frowned and moved on to the other changes that had happened to the hero shop, deciding to buy the advancement serum after checking all the features.

[New hero shop feature: Monthly item swap! Every month, many of the items in the shop will swap to alternate ones which gives an opportunity to grab never seen before items.]

"What?"

This feature was an unexpected one and Alex quickly checked the items that he regularly uses like the healing ointment and the miscellaneous ones like the sticky bombs.

To his surprise, the ointment has been replaced by an item called the elven potion and he couldn't find any signs of sticky bombs.

"What the fuck? I was gonna use those often from now on..."

Alex cursed as he guessed that the feature was probably there for him to not get used to items. His system was basically saying to not get overly reliant on one item

'Sigh! My system is screwing me over.'

He sighed in his mind and went over the other upgrades. Some of them were fairly simple like changing the font in his status screens and some looked simple but were really useful.

One of them was the ability to connect his phone to his system.

It seemed like a weird feature but it essentially enabled him to use his system to search through websites and receive text messages. It was almost as if his system had now become his laptop.

"Now, I don't have to get bored in geography class. I can just watch a movie on my system and no one will know." Alex grinned, wondering different ways to use his new feature.

With that, there was only one new feature left and that was the inventory.

[New hero shop feature: Inventory! Now you can store all the hero shop items in a dimensional space. Only the items purchased from hero shop can be stored.]

This was a feature that hugely excited Alex.

With an inventory, he doesn't have to worry about his parents finding out about the items he had bought from the hero shop.

When he had bought his dagger from the hero shop, he had to hide it in his room and there was a constant fear that his mom would find it out.

Though with the inventory, he won't have to worry about stuff like this.

Thinking of testing his inventory, he took out the dagger he had bought from the shop.

With just a glance at it, information about it came into his view.

– A handy dagger that adventurers love.

– Highly durable and sharp.

The dagger only cost him 100 HP, so he had bought it in case of an emergency. Currently, Alex focused on sending the dagger into his inventory.

He thought about the dagger going into his inventory and immediately, it disappeared from his view.

With another thought, the dagger reappeared in his hand and Alex grinned.

"This is nice."

He said and at that moment, his mom's voice called him out from downstairs.

"Alex, are you still sleeping?" 

"No, I'm awake."

"Come down for breakfast." She said and Alex realised that he indeed felt really hungry.

Last night, after coming back home, he didn't even bother to grab something to eat and just slept. Alex walked downstairs and saw his mom setting the food on the table.

As he sat on the chair, he saw that there was a news report going on about the incident last night. Two news anchors were discussing the fight and the casualty rate.

One of them was blaming the military furiously as both Hulk and Abomination were the results of their own experiment. As the report went on, they even talked about him.

Alex wasn't surprised to see this as he knew that he would get a lot of attention for what he did yesterday. Even Shield would try to find more information about him.

Thinking about it, he just felt a bad headache.

"Weird things are happening all over New York." His mom said, glancing at the screen. "It's fortunate that those two monsters didn't fight in Queens."

"Yeah." Alex bleakley replied as his thoughts had already drifted to Shield and the future.
