Their international flight arrived at the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok and from there.

Anong was familiar with the place and led him through the airport to the train station, boarding a train leading directly to Bangkok

Anong was so excited to have her lover with her, she kept chatting on where they would go, what they will do, she was oblivious to several people pointing at them!

Not only was Anong the famous Beautiful Killer, female national champion that has defeated several male champions in her weight class, there was also the international news of her and her boyfriend being kidnapped to fight animals in Mexico, which was big news in Thailand!

Many locals were critical of her dating a "farang", but because she was so well known for her beauty, hints of jealousy could be seen in the criticism

Anong guessed this would be the case, but she didn't care. Jamie was with her and that was all she cared about

But the first place Anong brought Jamie to was her gym in Bangkok, the Bangkok Warriors Gym.

This was the place that trained her to take on the national stage and as they walked in she greeted her coach Sochai

They embraced and spoke to each other in Thai as Jamie noticed the whole gym had stopped training to see them

They were surrounded by sweaty men and a few women who were training and Anong happily greeted her friends and many of her juniors

But while Anong was welcomed with open arms, Jamie felt that the stares towards him was not so friendly

Suddenly, a muscular fighter said something and Anong responded in a not so friendly manner

"What's going on?" Jamie asked, putting his arm in front of her to protect her

"They are angry with you, a farang, who allowed me to be shot. I told him that you rescued me. But they want to challenge you. I told them they were no threat and he got angrier" Anong said

Several more men stood out with chest out, and Jamie could see there was no way to settle this without a fight. They were a fighting culture after all

"It's ok, dear. I won't fight them. I intend to train anyway" Jamie said

Anong looked at him, then nodded with a smile

"Don't say I didn't warn all of you" she said in English, which many of the gym members understood due to the many foreigners who visited to train there

Jamie took off his t-shit and khaki shorts and with a mighty leap, he jumped from the ground and summersaulted in the air as he landed in the ring

This shocked everyone but Anong as she confidently took a bet with her instructor

The current light heavyweight, national number 2, Chauhai stepped in and smiled, wearing only his fight shorts and gloves

Jamie picked up a pair of big 16 ounce gloves by the side, much too big for muay thai and was a hindrance to him

But it was more padded in case he used too much strength and he faced Chauhai who got insulted by the gesture

Chauhai attacked with a front kick, which Jamie easily side stepped and Chauhai's follow up punches were easily ducked as well

It became a technical fight as Jamie easily dodged Chauhai's many attacks

Jamie made sure that he used only Muay Thai movements, so that he wouldn't be criticised if he beat someone by their own rules

"Why is he avoiding blows? A Muay Thai fighter should be tough" Sochai said to Anong

"He's trying not to hurt Chauhai" Anong said

"Hurt him? He's fighting for the national title! He'll kill your boyfriend" Sochai said

"Really? Jamie! Let him hit you!" Anong shouted

"Are you sure?" Jamie asked, even able to turn around, avoiding Chauhai's shots even with his back turned towards him!

"Yeah. Dinner tonight is on Sochai!" Anong said

"Ok then" Jamie said and turned around again, leaving his hands behind his head and putting his head forwards

Chauhai was so angry he threw a huge shin kick at Jamie's face, without Jamie ducking

There was a scream coming from the ring, and it wasn't Jamie

Chauhai was on the ring floor, holding his shin that had broken in two!

Several fighters rushed into the ring and he was rushed off to the hospital

"Chauhai! He fight champion next week!" Sochai said, pulling his hair

"How about my boyfriend fight the champion?" Anong asked in Thai

Sochai looked at Jamie, who didn't look injured even after taking a full powered shin shot to his face. He didn't know what Anong said, but Sochai seemed to be contemplating something

Sochai suddenly ran into his office to make several phone calls as Anong ran to the ring and kissed Jamie, much to the jealousy of the many men there. But no one wanted to challenge him anymore after seeing him easily outclass Chauhai

Anong and Jamie sat in a roadside stall eating the local street food as Sochai walked up to join them with a smile on his face

"It's done. I convinced them" Sochai said

Anong smiled and bounced up and down in her seat, clapping her hands

"What... what's going on?" Jamie asked

"You... fight.. National champion next week. Replace Chauhai" Sochai said in broken English

"You're replacing Chauhai to fight the champion Cheebai next week" Anong said

"That's unexpected. But great" Jamie said, ordering more beers to celebrate

Over the next few days, Jamie trained in the morning, went shopping and explored Bangkok in the afternoon, and trained again in the evening. 

At night, he visited several BJJ gyms in Bangkok, who were more than happy to see the reigning Mundial champion at their gyms and he made made friends

Anong only did light training due to her injury, but Jamie went all out in training

He only dodged while he sparred, getting used to the timing of the fighters. They all feared him after he accidentally broke a few heavy bags

And it seemed his stamina was endless. Sochai tried to push him stamina wise, but he seemed to be able to do all the cardio exercises effortlessly and easily that it was wearing Sochai out as he coundn't think of any exercises to push him

Finally, the week passed and he was ready. As he sat in the changing room in the Lumpinee stadium, his team sat around him as he sat in a robe

Sochai tried to massage his shoulders, feeling no give, as if he was massaging solid steel

"Are you nervous?" he asked, thinking Jamie was tense

"No problems. I'll win" he said as his name was called

He squeezed Anong's hand who was next to him, and walked towards the curtain

As he was announced, he walked through the curtain as loud boos towards the challenger, who many thought didn't deserve a chance

While the stadium booed, those next to the isles suddenly froze, everyone naturally terrified, as if a tiger was walking down the isle

Everyone within a 10m diameter felt somehow terrified and some even peed their pants

He entered into the ring and removed his cloak and hood

The stadium instantly silenced, seeing Jamie "the Bear fighter" standing in the ring.
