Ethan wasn't surprised that Ye Tian achieved the desired [Immortal of the Cosmos], for it was naturally easier for him. It would take at least a thousand years before the other six Keepers of Knowledge breakthrough. That was not to say that Ye Tian had a talent much above the other six, but his Primal Chaos Body made it easier for him at this realm, to be more specific.

Although they were only at the first realm of Immortals, each was divided into two steps. For a simple comparison, someone at the Flawless Immortal step could easily crush someone at the Perfect Immortal step, though it was the same realm.

As such, most Immortals didn't call themselves Pure Immortals, for example. Rather, they divided themselves into Perfect Immortals, Flawless Immortals, and so on. Of course, they just did it because it was more convenient.

It was truly troublesome for them to say things like, 'He's at the Pure Immortal, Flawless Immortal step!'. As such, they decided to call themselves by their current sub-divison, 'He's a Flawless Immortal!'.

Another reason Ethan made the time difference between the World of Origin and the Abyss World so huge is because he wasn't going to give guidance to the Abyss World. Of course, Ethan was sure that Jormungand would be able to guide the Abyss World towards a good direction, he had no doubts about that.

Thinking of something, Ethan sat in the sofa before snapping his fingers. A high-end TV was created out of thin air by him, and a few images started to be played in it. A huge snake with two wings and a horn was quietly absorbing [Mana], it was at a critical stage of evolution!

Without doubts, the huge snake is Jormungand. It was currently at Tier 4, which is equivalent to the Ethereal Life Realm, and it was trying to achieve Tier 5 right now!

Differently from the Cultivation Path, the Sorcerer Path was divided into Tiers, not actual names. The only difference is that from Tier 1 to Tier 4, they were referred to as 'Mage' or whatever way of sorcerer one took. For example, Tier 4 Warlock, Tier 4 Mage, etc.

After achieving Tier 5, a Mage would be referred to as Arch-Mage, Warlock would be Ascended Warlock, and so on. It must be noted that the Sorcerer Path is easier to breakthrough compared to the Cultivation Path in the real universe.

That happens because in the universe, the Cultivation Path is way harder as there are less resources for such a path. For this reason, cultivators and Immortals are much rarer than Sorcerers, Mages, etc. The most common path in the universe is the Gene Path because it takes less resources, is easier to begin upon having a certain level of technology, and is equally powerful.

In the Abyss World and World of Origin, though, the difficulty is equal. That happens because of the Will of the World and Heavenly Dao. These two existences created by Ethan made both paths equal in terms of difficulty.

Looking at the TV, Ethan estimated that it would take around 15 minutes in the outside world before Jormungand finishes its breakthrough. It is roughly equivalent to 100 years in the Abyss World, which shows how difficult it is for Jormungand to breakthrough. The main reason is that in the Sorcerer Path, Tier 5 is the realm their life is sublimated.

In the Cultivation Path, the first time their life is sublimated is the Ethereal Life Realm, for their Soul is sublimated.

Differently from the Cultivation Path, the Sorcerer Path sublimates their Body. They have no need to sublimate their Souls in the first realms, but their Body needs to be sublimated. At the same time, the cultivators sublimate their Body in the Pure Immortal Realm, becoming Immortals, which is just the act of absorbing and getting transformed by Immortal Qi.

Ethan, who could feel the progress of all living beings within his worlds, is the only being who truly knows how unique each path is. A being who takes the Cultivation Path would never understand how unique another path is, for example. At the very same time, they also wouldn't understand how unique their own path is, as it is a normal thing for them!

Only those who stand at the top would look back to their journey and understand the wonders and mysteries of their path, for they have explored it all.

...

Meanwhile, Abyss World.

A powerful Demon looked at a powerful Dwarf, Elf, Human and even Beastkin, ''We must stop that guy Jormungand, if he succeeds at breakingthrough to Tier 5, we will always be under it! No chance to catch up!''

His voice carried justified anger, for Demons hated being under someone's rule. Unless that someone was of the same race as them, no Demon would accept it.

An old-looking human with a long beard nodded sagely, ''We have no doubts about that. The Devourer of All-Things, Jormungand, seems to be indifferent to ruling others, but we all know that it is just waiting for the moment it is overwhelmingly stronger than us. Once that happens, it doesn't matter if we're Humans, Dwarves, Elves or Demons, for all will be ruled by it.'' [1]

The remaining representants of other races agreed with such words, and so they decided to kill Jormungand while it was breakingthrough.

As they talked, Jormungand was unconscious while breakingthrough to Tier 5, every single cell was being transformed by its Mana. For that, it was an impossible for him to keep conscious. At the same time, it was also Jormungand most dangerous situation, for many Beastkin, Humans, Demons, Elves and Dwarves alike wanted to kill it!

It was the strongest being in the Abyss World, they didn't want Jormungand to achieve Tier 5 before them, or they would have no chance to catch up anymore. The World-Devouring Snake is an extremely scary race, it can progress quickly, regardless of any bottleneck they may face through the sheer amount of Mana they absorb by devouring literally anything.

Such race must take a long time to transform its own Body, being vulnerable to external attacks. It wasn't obvious during ordinary breakthroughs, but once they need to sublimate their Soul or their Body, it takes a long amount of time!

As once stated... The universe is fair. At least, it was supposed to be, if not because this was Ethan's personal universe.

Looking at it, Ethan couldn't help but feel pity, 'Well... I can't let Jormungand die, as I want him to reign over the Abyss World for a long while. Let's consider this the first of the three visits, shall we?'

'I can't even laze around anymore, goddamit envious races...' Ethan complained inwardly while looking at his creations. Suddenly, he had a good idea, and couldn't help but smile evilly. As he entered the Abyss World, his body changed its shape.

Almost instantly, it became one similar to Jormungand, but thousands of times bigger. And it must be noted that Jormungand's body was huge enough to cover a whole florest. Ethan was, at this moment, tens of kilometers long and wide.

The races that were discussing on how to kill Jormungand suddenly felt that the whole world fell into an endless darkness. The old man with sage-like features had cold sweat as he looked over the sky, ''Oh, dear World... What the hell is this?!''

His speech was somewhat incoherent due to fear, the remaining representants of their races also saw the same thing as the old man...

It was an endlessly huge snake, with wings enough to cover a whole world with no difficulty. Its horn seemed to pierce the very sky, bringing a tremendous pressure that made them lose any fighting intention. It was simply hovering in the sky peacefully, as if to guard someone.

Its very presence brought pressure to the Will of the World, for they couldn't feel it for a moment. All living beings of the Abyss World could see the huge snake from any location, it was as if a divine being descended upon the world of mortals. Mages, Warlocks, and Sages alike felt their very Mana trembling out of fear, as if it was a superior presence.

The huge snake suddenly looked at the representants of their races. Golden-colored eyes that seemed to be as big as the sun stared at them indifferently, their very Souls shook, as if it received a warning it couldn't violate. The whole world was silent, no sound was transmitted.

Forests supposed to be noisy were disturbingly quiet, for the beasts didn't dare to make a sound.

Human cities were caught in a ghostly silence, for the human beings didn't dare to move or talk.

Dwarves who were forging artifacts stopped, the sound of metal hitting metal coming to an end.

Elves, who were close to nature itself, felt the deep fear that nature felt.

Demons, beings with a natural instinct to fight superior beings, couldn't move. Their uncontrollable instincts didn't dare to fight the beings hovering quietly in the sky.

Such presence made the whole world quiet, and so it quietly disappeared, no traces found.

A message was transmitted to all living beings, a message that they transmitted themselves.

The Devourer of All-Things, no... The Devourer of Worlds, Jormungand, is not to be messed! [2]

Note [1]: At that time, Jormungand wasn't called Devourer of Worlds yet.

Note [2]: The difference between 'All-Things' and 'Worlds' doesn't seem to be much, but the meaning is different. All-Things, in this situation, means beings, treasures, etc. Worlds literally Worlds, including everything contained within it. This is also the time when Jormungand was known as Devourer of Worlds instead of Devourer of All-Things.
