The city of Austin was in a state of emergency. After only 4 people of the resistance returning from Houston and hearing their report, the military went on high alert

Austin had been lucky compared to other cities, in that they were never directly invaded and had time to prepare defenses when other cities were directly invaded

They only received the overflow of other cities' invaders and were thus far able to successfully defend

Furthermore, Houston had been taken over by a godlike Valheru, who had no intention of expanding his territory

But now, these "White Spikes", as they were currently calling the white monsters, were an overwhelming threat that swarmed with savagery and sheer numbers, much like those of several other cities they received reports of before losing contact

According to the intelligence they have, there are generally 3 types of invaders.

The first is from portal openings, where creatures from fantasy breach through the portals and start taking over cities. These included vampires, orcs, goblins and other such creatures, but they also have been known to include dragons, like those that conquered China!

The second type is from alien species, who arrive in large city size spacecraft and wage war in aerial battles with the the human military forces. 

The third type are also alien species seemed to be the most dangerous. They normally crash to the cities, either from a meteor or even from crashing spacecraft, where hostile, savage creatures swarm and kill or devour everything in sight

There were already several cities in Africa and Europe that were invaded by this type, and they wiped out the city completely, leaving noone alive

In fact, the second type of invaders seemed to fare poorly against the third type, having crashed their invading ships and being taken over by the third type and crashing their ships

It is unclear what were the second type doing. Were they using the third type as a bio-weapon, or were they invaded themselves? Were any of them left alive? It was clear that these second types would not come all the way to earth to intentionally crash their ships. 

The one that crashed into Houston was clearly the third type of alien

Because of the proximity, they would have evacuated Austin. But as the whole world was in chaos, there was nowhere to evacuate to and thus they had to defend and prepare for the worst

General Goodwin looked nervously towards the direction of Houston. According to Amy's calculations, the White Spikes would arrive by today

They waited, with their turrets and tanks ready. As hours passed and night arrived, they still waited, half hoping for a miracle that the monsters would not arrive

But the wait was wrecking their nerves, as there was not a single sighting of them

Little did they know that the White Spikes would not be invading anyone any time soon

In Houston, the White Spikes encountered a strange entity

It looked like a human, only that he had been killed many times already, only to return

When they first encountered it, he had been impaled with so many spikes that he looked like a porcupine man

But after having his limbs torn apart, his body eaten, he somehow fought back and came back to life, killing and eating the White Spikes in return

And somehow, he had evolved so that the white spikes now slid off his body like a cobra's bite against a mongoose. Not only that, he had a strange 1 meter long tentacle between his legs that shot spikes of his own!

Stephan's brain was badly damaged and he was moving and fighting purely on instinct, eating hearts and body parts of the White Spikes as if he was their natural predator

Elena's shot had blasted his brains out of his skull, destroying the chip implanted in his brain. Although eating White Spikes had recovered his brain, it was a blank slate. He didn't even recognize himself as a human, and lived purely to hunt and eat

He became a being that the White Spikes feared and he in turn had regarded them as food

After a while, they stopped attacking him, after losing several tens of monsters at a time

It wasn't as if they couldn't hurt him. Every attack, he lost an unbelievable amount of blood, sometimes even losing a limb or two

But he always outlasted the attacks, coming out as the sole survivor, and always recuperated before the next skirmish

And from being the hunted, he became the hunter and he was attracted to the largest meal in the city, the queen!

The queen had already retreated and ran to another part of the city to the George Bush International Airport, but Stephan was not letting her go

Having become an expert in hunting White Spikes, he managed to avoid several packs of White Spikes, all willing to sacrifice themselves for the queen

It had became a game of cat and mouse, with the White Spike queen focusing all her time on Stephan that the White Spikes had not expanded out of Houston at all

While she had sent her males all over to hunt for food, only half of them returned and did not provide enough food for her to breed a large brood to expand outwards

Stephan was somehow in position to the West, blocking the area towards Austin, so the White Spikes had been heading East.

But the White Spikes that went to the East towards New Orleans seemed to be halted by another invasive species

The queen didn't want to send her minions to the south, which was the sea. Although they could literally swim incredibly well, ultimately they were land creatures and had to breed on land. 

Like all the other invasive species, they only looked for the large cities that could support their food consumption. There were probably pockets of surviving humans here and there, but they were considered a light snack and would not satisfy the large ravenous brood

The only one that seemed to be full in Houston was Stephan, living on a rich diet of White Spikes. 

He snuck into the George Bush International Airport, avoiding all detection by the white creatures

He had been here many times in his previous life, but his current self didn't remember it, only having a strange familiarity to the area, easily moving around and staying hidden

The queen was at the departure lounge, having torn the place upside down to make it more habitable to her. All around her were carcasses of orc-vampires that the White Spikes had gathered for her to feed

Finally feeling safe from the savage hunter hunting her kind, she finally decided to fulfill her duty and mate to produce offspring

A male White Spike, about 1/3 smaller than her, began humping her from behind in doggie style, using it's tentacles to hold her towards it

As the male's sexual organ penetrated her birthing canal, the male suddenly screamed!

The queen wondered why the male was screaming in pain and horror when she felt a huge object enter her birthing hole as the male fell off her

Stephan had sneaked into the airport lounge and penetrated the male's body, slaughtering through it's body and shoving himself up the queen's birthing hole!

The queen screamed in agony as the human clawed his way into her body, ripping apart her internal organs, maiming her sole purpose which was to breed, aiming for her heart

Stephan took great satisfaction as he chomped down on her heart as the queen writhed on the ground with multiple males looking around confused and uncertain of what to do

As the queen trashed around in pain, she felt her life leaving her body and within moments, she lay dead

Her chest burst open as Stephan emerged victorious, eating her other internal organs

The White Spikes were furious and charged at him in a murderous rage

The primitive minded Stephan did not know which animal was the strongest among the many creatures he's eaten, but at the very least the Queen of the White Spikes was the strongest and most powerful of her race, and he had eaten her heart

He threw the White Spikes around like an adult with a toddler, not controlling his strength at all

The savage battle continued on, as hundreds of White Spikes blindly threw their lives away.

The airport shook and eventuslly collapsed into rubble from their battle which lasted for hours

The battle was a hard one, the most difficult he ever had in his life 

But as he lay on the rubble, he was victorious even through he physically paid a heavy price

His abdomen was ripped open in many places, and he had lost both legs, the left at the knee and the right at his ankle and he only had his left arm up to his elbow left

His meter long penis that was shooting spikes was severed and half his face was missing

But he had won!

He crawled over to the nearest White Spike carcass and started eating

He had recovered from such injuries before, even though never this serious

And he was no longer bothered that he would not regrow any body part. It was something he took for granted

A week later, the curious human military from Austin had cautiously advanced towards Houston, finally arriving to a deserted city

White Spike carcasses were everywhere and they followed it to the former George Bush International Airport

All they found were more carcasses, and a carcass of the larges White Spike they've seen yet

It looked like a female of the species, but they couldn't tell for sure as it didn't have any sexual organs or any internal organs to speak of as they had all disappeared

They only found it's larger than normal dissected skeleton in many pieces

"Shit... I'm creeped out. If anything can do this to this monster, I don't want to be here" Desmond said, accompanied by a large squad of armed soldiers

Elena on the other hand was scouting the city by herself, looking for the body of her favorite hound. But she didn't find anything, only scraps of Stephan's leather gear she made him wear. 

As for Stephan, he had long departed and was nowhere to be seen

After the battle with the White Spikes in the airport in Austin, he continued hunting the White Spikes, looking greedily for more food!

As he had come from the West, he headed east to look for more. 

No doubt there was a chance that several of them may have escaped him and headed West or North, but he only hunted where the majority of the food was located

As he ventured further East, he found that the White Spikes were battling, and losing to another species of alien

Instead of white, these were the polar opposite being black in color

They had elongated heads, sharp teeth but were slightly smaller than the white fangs

But while the White Spikes were fast and vicious, the black aliens moved slower but more purposeful, and they were defeating the White Spikes, ripping through them with their clawed hands and long sharp tail

The White Spikes fought back from a distance, shooting spikes from their tentacles, seemingly afraid to fight in a close up battle. 

It seemed that the blood from the black aliens seemingly burned the White Spikes

He licked his lips in anticipation, finding a new type of food!
