The few people who know Konoshira Mai would likely describe her with the same few words. Diligent. Hard-worker. Efficient. Productive. Focused. To put it bluntly, no one really knows much about her beyond her dedication to her Career. To put it more bluntly, Konoshira herself prioritizes work to the exclusion of all else.
Konoshira had just finished turning in her report after the successful completion of a task. Her usual habit is to immediately start preparation to conquer her next task. However, she is instead taking a rare moment to relax and think. Konoshira is lying on her bed next to what looks like a blue crab. Her long and straight black hair fanning behind her would form a relaxing and beautiful picture if it were not for the creases currently marring her forehead.
“13... do you feel like something is wrong?”
Strangely, the blue crab next to Konoshira sat up and spoke in an almost mechanical tone.
“...{Subject}, may I remind you again that anything related to the the analysis of tasks is in your job description and not mine?” The blue crab identified as 13 lets out a big sigh while making a dramatic gesture with it’s front claws, as if it will faint. Even Konoshira might let out a chuckle if she had broken her gaze away from the ceiling to see the crab’s antics. “I will deign to answer you as much as my programming allows. All of your tasks have been completed above expectations. Your partnership with {Operator} Dag Jensen is the most successful in the company so far. You are also the most flexible {Subject} to date, able to adapt to any circumstance during a simulation. The single blip in your record occurred within normal expectations, the first time you experienced having a non-human body for a task. You’ve even accomplished tasks where you had to pretend to be a man in stride. Your biggest demerit lies in your reluctance to do field work, but you do not decrease the effort put into your work despite this. What could be wrong? It’s been a while since you’ve slept outside of the simulations. Perhaps {Subject} just needs a night of real rest?”
“You’re right 13.” Konoshira relaxes her creased forehead and smiles. “I must just need some real sleep. We will put off starting the next simulation until tomorrow.”
“13 will set the alarm ahead for to get a full nights rest. Would {Subject} also like some relaxing warm tea or light music? ”
“I had a nutrient pack earlier. And...” Konoshira pokes the little blue crab and it stumbles back a step. “Now who’s overthinking? Set the alarm at 6 sharp, and start telling me about the next task. I know you’ve already pulled the information. I want to be ready to enter into the simulation as soon as possible.”
“...” 13 scratches at the sheets and mumbles for a bit, “What do I know? I’m just a nanny bot. Hmph.”
“Behave 13. Think of it like reading me a bed time story to help me sleep.”
“That’s just sophistry {Subject}! I will comply with your instructions, but I know you are trying to trick this system!”
Konoshira can’t help but let out a hollow chuckle. Nanny 13 deflates before obiediently outlining the next task. Who told the {Subject} to have such a disarming smile?
“To start with, it will be a celebrity plotline...”

The atmosphere in the room was heavy after Nanny 13 finished a brief presentation.
“Nanny. 13. I have a question?”
“What is it ?”
“I’ve had to crossdress as a man before, but why is it that I will... actually be a man this time?”
“This particular evaluation hasn’t been successfully completed by any teams who have attempted it. The majority of mistakes seem to be due to breaking character. The mainframe personally selected you for this role due to your outstanding record. It’s a great honor for you !”
“...Can honor be eaten? I want to file a complaint.”
“{Subject} must be joking. Konoshira Mai is well known for never filing a complaint regardless of what task is given.”
“...” The expression on Konoshira’s face vividly made Nanny 13 realize it should not ever brag about being the one to spread this piece of gossip, no matter how many tasks it nets them. Luckily for the Nanny bot, Konoshira no longer pressed the pitiful crab for information and rolled over to sleep.
