Dildao was a fortified medium sized town in the mountains

It was designed and built like a fortress and was founded by the dwarves

As such, while half the town was on the outside, behind huge city walls, the other half were in fact carved out into the caves located in the mountain itself!

The inn that the trader booked for the adventurers was carved into the rock of the cave

Fortunately, Michelle had her own room, a change by the traders who decided to pay for a private room for her after seeing her in battle

Everyone was sure that sooner or later, Michelle would get promoted to A Rank and decided to be extra friendly to such an adventurer while he/she was still rising the ranks

Because of that, Michelle had her own room, which meant that she did not have to hide her sex as she changed or went to the toilet

She peed while sitting down on the toilet, finding it a strange sensation. 

She cleaned herself, as apparently that's what females did, and slipped into the warm bath

All the toilet facilities were carved out of the rock, including the toilet and bath

And the water for the bath was apparently natural mineral water, warmed by the thermal heat in the mountain!

Michael wandered around the Dwarf founded town dressed in his armor, uncertain when he would transform into the succubus form again

When he had originally designed his weapons with Duncan, he did enquire about firearms, as those were his specialty on Earth

While Duncan didn't have the materials with him as they were still rare, he did mention that the dwarves used something that sounded like gunpowder to use as explosives to dig out the mines recently

His brother in Dildao was the one that discovered it, but it was found to be too dangerous as it had caused several cave ins, killing many dwarves

He did tell Michael to visit and wrote a letter of introduction to Durcell to see if he could come up with what Michael wanted

He asked around, and was easily directed towards Durcell's workshop. However, they all had a look of distain when they heard his name

Michael followed the directions and it led to a stone dwelling deep in the mountain, at the end of an abandoned mine

"Hello?" he said as he entered the stone hut

"Who are you?" a gruff dwarf said, missing one eye and ear and his right hand had been replaced by a metal hammer!

In fact, he looked like part metal and part flesh as half his face was covered by a metal plate, covering his missing eye and ear!

"I'm Michael. I was told to meet you by your brother Duncan!" Michael said

"Duncan? What do you want?" he asked gruffly, snatching the letter of introduction from him and reading it with his other eye as a monocle popped over it, attached to the back of his head

"You... want to use boomgoo?" Durcell asked

While this realm did not have gunpowder, what Durcell discovered was a gel that had similar properties, which he called "boomgoo"

He didn't know if this made it easier or harder to design a similar weapon to his firearms

Michael eagerly brought out his old rifle and handguns to show Durcell

He had kept them all along, but as he had no bullets, he could do nothing with them. He had shown them to Duncan too, but Duncan pointed him towards Durcell

"You... pull this thing and it shoots something small but powerful?" Durcell asked quietly as Michael explained how it was supposed to work

He also explained the design of a grenade as well as a claymore explosive to him

"This... amazing!" Durcell said, taking notes and started talking to himself  

Michael left him be as he looked around the smith

His eyes stopped on a set of fullplate armor, which covered the whole body, not just several pieces of plate like the armor he was wearing

"You want it? You can have it. Made of mithril! Light and tough!" Durcell said when he saw Michael examining the armor

"Mithril? That's expensive. I can't afford this" Michael said

"Duncan said in his letter that you are partners for the current weapons he made for you?" Durcell asked as he suddenly changed the subject

"Er.. yes. We split 50-50 for the electro sword, the poison dagger and the 5 shot crossbow" Michael replied

"Show me!" Durcell asked

Michael showed him the 3 inventions that he suggested to Duncan, and demonstrated how they work

"Brilliant! Now I'm convinced" Durcell said

"Convinced? About what?" Michael asked

"Be my partner for the "firearms" that I design. But I want the same 50-50 arrangement as my brother. And I want to be able to take apart your "firearms" and examine the inner workings of them. If so, I will manufacture, you get free samples, and that armor is yours" Durcell said

Michael easily agreed. Even though he had sentimental attachments to his old firearms, taking them apart was an essential part of letting Durcell understand how it works. And it was very likely that it might get damaged

But he couldn't use them anyway, so they would serve a better use if Durcell could really make new firearms for him. 

Besides, the mithril armor was well made, and would hide his face and body regardless if he was a male or female inside!

He left the shop, dressed in his new armor and after an agreement with Durcell and a firm handshake, which was enough for Dwarves to keep their word. 

His mission was to escort the traders here and back, and they would be departing tomorrow morning 

It was certain that Durcell would not be able to do the work in a day and he had informed Durcell he would visit Dildao again in the near future. Durcell agreed and wanted to be left alone anyway and immerse himself in his new project

Now, he would explore the town to see what's going on around town

He saw Mattril drinking in an open pub with the A Ranks Artus and Genoa as well as a few others

As the bar was in the cave, it didn't really need a building or a roof over their heads. It just had a bar and several chairs and tables. Even the kitchen was wide open and the patrons could see the cook cooking their orders

Knowing they wouldn't recognize him in his new armor, but knowing that they will see him in it in a few days, he thought it best to at least greet them so it wouldn't be awkward

He waved at Mattril as he approached them, and Mattril looked confused until Michael opened his visor

As he had seen Michael's face before during the griphon mission, he immediately recognized him

"Mason!" he greeted as the others turned to look at him

"I just thought I would say hello as I was passing by" Michael said

"Join us! Try the fire-ale here! This dwarven drink packs a punch" Mattril said

Michael agreed and joined them as they drank all night as they pushed drink after drink to him as they toasted him

"Oooh" Michael groaned as he arrived early in the morning

The drink last night was potent, stronger than what he's had on Earth

He still felt hungover and by the looks of it, the other adventurers were no better

The group eventually departed after waiting for several adventurers who were late

Michael hoped that nothing bad happens on the trip home

He was, after all in his human male form.

Unfortunately, his fond hope was the furthest from what was to come
