Months passed after the incident with Elderich, as Michael and his wives lived happily in Valhallon 

Michael in his many guises had been promoted naturally, with his Green Knight persona being graded to C Rank, together with the Nymphs. 

The nymphs, however did not take many missions these days, rather provided healing in their now larger compound, which was simply called the Nymphs Grove. They functioned much like a temple, with Aria, Naya and Sylvie providing healing of the body and soul. 

Battle Princess and Beast had been promoted to A Rank, and was sometimes joined by the enigmatic and mysterious Storm, who was of course Ryania in her adventurer guise as they went on missions together. 

As for Angelica the Saint, she sometimes joined Battle Princess and Storm and were deemed the 3 princesses, as rumors surfaced that Storm was actually very beautiful underneath her mask. 

As for Adeline aka Angelica, she was now a S Rank and was among the top mages in the country

Because of that, Michael in his various guises, but mostly as Angelica, regularly attended meetings with the King and his top advisors

But as Ryania was attending due to her position as princess of Elvenhome, Michael decided to attend as his human self since everyone in the council knew of his identity 

The news coming from the south, from Evalonia, hasn't been good 

The Royal Magician and also Court Advisor Dorian started giving his report. 

There were streams of refugees fleeing Evalonia and entering Careyse, where the border guards could not cope and had to seek reinforcements

It would seem that the demon army had already surrounded the Capital City of Edwardia, and many people had already fled weeks ago heading towards Careyse. 

Even the free cities of the Bohoring Plains were being abandoned, and most of them were heading for Valhallon, the Last Bastian of mankind

There were elves among those fleeing and it would seem that the Guardian of Elvenhome, Elderich had been captured

"No!" Ryania shouted in shock as Michael tried to calm her down

"I'm sorry to say that after his confrontation with Michael.... he flew back injured. With his injuries, he was easily defeated by the Demon General Genghis Khan" Dorian said

"He... he was already weakening when he came here. That was why he was grooming me to take over. But when he discovered that we couldn't win, he wanted to offer me to the Demon Lord in marriage" Ryania said solemnly

Michael nodded. He did feel that although he defeated Elderich, it was easier than he thought. In Serena's form before, Elderich absolutely decimated her. While Fenris' form was more resistant to magic and stronger, Elderich should have put up a fiercer fight. 

"We also have a guest. We welcome Princess Amanda, the Rose of Evalonia" Dorian said as she walked into the room

She still looked beautiful, even though she was tired and weary from the journey from Edwardia

She bowed to King Gregoras and Queen Alghenna before taking a seat at the table

"You! You're alive? I heard you were killed by a water dragon!" she suddenly gasped, recognizing Michael

"I'm difficult to kill" Michael said with a nod. He had informed King Gregoras and his advisors about his relationship with Evalonia, so they knew what happened to him

"Yes, well.. you are the only hero we summoned left" Princess Amanda said

"What do you mean?" Michael asked, curious to what happened to the others

"They have all turned traitor. Temujin has tuned into the Demon General of the undead. He's a lich! As for Cuchulain, he is the Demon General of the Beasts. Roland had become the leader of the Death Knights. As for Achilles, we don't know what happened to him, but our spies told us he had been captured to be experimented on. His body apparently has a charm that makes him immune to most damage" Amanda said

"Damn. I might very well have to face them" Michael thought to himself

"What of your father? Your family?" King Gregoras asked

"My father sent me here to continue our line. He says a King will stay to the very end. I fear he will fall when Edwardia falls" Amanda said, holding back tears

"What of the elves?" Ryania suddenly asked

"I can't say for sure. Some who fled early has already reached here at the same time I did. But the rest... I heard they fled to the dwarven city of Dildao" Amanda said

Dildao, Doralei... Duncan and Durcell. Those were the names of dwarven friends he met in Evalonia. Perhaps he should try to see if he could rescue them 

"Then we should send a rescue team. I... I can't let my whole race be exterminated" Ryania said

King Gregoras looked at her and surprisingly agreed. He may have had a falling out with Elderich, but he had been friends with him for decades, and has fond memories of visiting Elvenhome in his adventurer days. 

"Are you willing to go?" he asked Michael

"I am. But I would rather go in a small team for mobility. You can send other forces independently to help us on our way" Michael said

"Very well. Leave by tonight. Rescue as many as you can. We will send adventurers and soldiers to set up posts along the way" King Gregoras said

"Understood" Michael said as he turned to walk away

"Wait! Can you... check on my family?" Princess Amanda asked

"I'm sorry princess. I am going to Dildao to rescue the elves and whoever else that is there. I won't be going to Edwardia who are probably under siege by now" Michael said

She looked disappointed, but nodded. There wasn't much she could do anyway

Michael looked more concerned with the elves than with the Royal Family of Evalonia. Besides, her father wouldn't leave Edwardia regardless. 

And it looked like she was with the Elf Princess. He didn't even look at her when she arrived.

Michael tried to convince the nymphs to stay in the grove. But they wanted to come and transformed into their spiritual form and entered the seed they planted in his bowels, protected by the seed of the alraune!

Besides Ryania, Catherine also wanted to come. She didn't want to be the only one left behind and has grown to become a competent warrior, so Michael agreed 

Transforming into Florencia her succubus form, she carried Ryania and Catherine and took off. Florencia and Adeline's winged form was arguably as fast as each other, with Serena's wingless flying slightly slower.

But as the journey non stop by air will take all night and through the day, they each had their uses. Serena was strong and had good stamina, but was strongest at night. Florencia was more agile in the air, was as strong as Serena, but tired quicker. Adeline on the other hand, had golden wings that attracted too much attention. But her form will be rotated in to save her stamina

They departed the grove and instantly flew south, heading towards Dildao

As he didn't know the way as the crow flies, he had to follow the roads from high in the air. However, the speed they were flying made up for taking the longer route. 

Their mission wasn't to fight the demon army, only to rescue as many as they could from Dildao and the cities along the Bohorian Plains along the way

Michael flew without resting, rotating between forms. Even Ryania had to be carried as she still couldn't fly on her own. She could now use the wind steps, but for long journeys, it was too tiring. She had yet to master flying like Elderich could

It wasn't difficult to follow the right path to Dildao. All the paths heading south was filled with refugees moving the other way towards Careyse and heading to Valhallon

He just had to fly the opposite direction and it would lead him to Dildao!
