We left for the waiting room and I sat down while master paid the bill, he came and told me we were leaving. While we left Master told me about what they did to me, “So I asked about what the treatment was and luckily they were helpful, kinda. They have brochure on basic medicine so I took one, luckily there in English and Latin. The person at the desk just pointed to them and then asked for my payment, now ill tell you what I understood. While we dont know much about stuff from the crater we do know a little, and this treatment is that. Some substance from the crater will bond with the human body and repair minor injuries, its safe and has no side effects that we know of. Mixing in something else makes substitute skin that will act like real skin and its a fast process. Its always gray colored since its not possible right now to change the color. Funny thing is we don’t know why it works at all, but we do know how to use it and that it is safe.”

“So this is called stitching up some one?” I asked.

“The term stitching means both what you had done and the act of sewing a cut back together, sometimes the filling process is called liquid stitches.” I was told by Master.

“So what cant it do?” I then asked.

“It cant replace limbs or repair major wounds, it can only work in small amounts.” he finished.

Odd that they don’t know why it works but clearly they have made small amounts of progress in understanding some applications of crater materials. There is also crat metal as well so there has been progress.

We stopped talking about that and I followed Master back to the boat when as we were almost there some older woman ran at master with a knife. This section was less crowded with just a few people, I instantly ran towards her then got behind her. I grabbed her hair with one hand and the hand with the knife with my other hand. I made her drop it and I held her back, Master had turned around as soon as I ran behind him. He walked over as I held the lady back and she was yelling at him, I think she might have been drunk.

“You rat, I remember seeing you at that restaurant!! Your still here stinking up this city, go back to your slums!!” she screamed at him.

“You see I’m a citizen here for work and also fuck you. Just cause you have more money and wear gold on you doesn't make you better than me.” Master sternly told her.

“Good job Lin, you saved me and caused less of a scene by doing what you did.” I was told, his praise made me smile.

“Get your filthy hands off my wife you rats.” we heard from 3 buildings back. Some older man was running in our direction.

As he got to us, Master spoke with him “She tried to kill me, rather then shooting her my slave used non lethal force. Take her and let us go, don’t think you can threaten me with any thing here.”.

He took his drunken wife and the kitchen knife off the ground and walked away, we then went on our way. Once we got to the boat Master spoke with me “You did great, you saved me and avoided lethal force. You are a great slave and always helping me.” he told me as he patted my head. He then picked me up and carried me as he sat on the bed, I liked it because it did make me feel good. He eventually put me down and I cuddled up next to him, “Master? Why did she try to kill you?” I asked.

“She was drunk and pissed at me, extreme response but clearly beer makes her aggressive.” He responded.

“Beer?” I asked, I know what beer is but wanted to see why it was only mentioned here in this city.

“Beer is more expensive, I think it requires more stuff to make and the ingredients cost more. I’ve never had it myself but heard its good, its reserved for the wealthy. Vodka and sake are more common and cheaper, vodka is potato based and sake is rice based. Also vodka can be chilled in a freezer but its not needed to keep from spoiling. Also sake is either a drink that needs to be refrigerated or is served hot.” I was told. Sake I had never heard of before.

“Thank you for paying for my doctors visit.” I told him.

“Your a good slave and as your master I need to treat any injuries you get or pay some one else. You did great fighting those pirates off, getting shot was a risk I knew you had. The slave doctors charge more here In this city but I needed you to be seen by a doctor as soon as I could. At least the extra money I spent there was worth it, the doctors here are better than the ones at home.” Master told me. I always loved when he told me stuff like that.
