I just got the last of the details finished. THE TOWER descends in seven days]

"eh, EEHHHH!!!?" The professor, hearing the voice in the middle of his lecture is startled and makes a noise. The students listening to the lecture become puzzled and begin to look at the old man with worry.

"C-Class dismissed!! The professor shouted. Obviously, something has troubled him.

"Did you hear that? The professor of all people got startled like that. Why?

"Maybe age is finally getting to him"  The murmurs of the students could be heard as they emptied out of the class until finally, all that was left was an old man and silence.

[Why did you scream like that what if you started a panick]

"You just told me the world is about to end and you expect me to not be surprised?"

[You knew it was coming. you've known for five years now.]

"But why now when I'm about to retire"

[You're five hundred years old. You should have retired a long time ago]

"Yeah, about that. Why am I still alive? How is it possible I've lived this long?"

[Seriously, again? how many times have you asked that question already?

(This is for readers: obviously, as the author of the story I know how many times he has asked the question. I just said it to be rhetorical)]

"It's just-... HAh. Look I know it's not impossible to live up to a thousand but.... usually that never happens."

"But here I am becoming a walking skeleton while ninety-nine point nine per cent of the world barely reaches one-twenty," The old man said tiredly

"WHY?" With this statement, you could hear physical anguish.

"AUTHOR. Is the reason I'm still alive because you chose me"

[I can't tell you why you were chosen. Those are the rules]

"Why does THE CREATOR need to operate by rules?" The professor speaks. This time mocking the voice(rude).

[When you mindlessly use the power to change stars. War occurs in Heaven(This is for readers: aka if I use too many Deus ex machinas in this story it'll become shit)]

[Do you understand now?]

"...."

"..."

For a few minutes the old professor is silent, and then.

"Please kill me!"

[Again with this]

"You're THE AUTHOR. You can strike me down at any moment and it wouldn't even take that much effort. Please I'm begging you!" The man's pleas sound as if he was some kind of tragic tormented creature on his last legs(disgusting).

[NO. I'm not going to kill you just because you want me to ]

"Please. PLEase. *inhale*PLEASSE" At this point, the man starts crying. Looking like a child that didn't get any candy(pitiful)

[You know if you want to die so badly just do it yourself]  with the statement a gun materialises unto the professor's desk.

The man stops crying. His eyes are glued to the weapon

"A-Are you telling me to kill myself?" The man speaks looking terrified. his voice shaky. little beads of sweat have begun forming on his face

[NO. I simply gave you a suggestion]

"W-What," The man says. looking paler than before.

[Dude. let's face it you are a coward. you're too scared to die but you bitch that you get to live too long? (Really?)]

[When THE TOWER falls, like it or not you're going to become immortal if you don't want that future then just put a bullet in your brain now  but we both know you'll never do it.]

[Any way I've said my piece. I'm leaving]

[Oh and make sure you've sold all your belongings and converted the cash into gold by TOWERfall.]

[youre gonna need it]

"AUTHOR?...."

"AUTHOR!!!!". The old man screams but gets no reply. He then looks at the desk. Upon it rests a beautiful golden gun and angel feather holster.

He takes up the gun and puts it into his mouth ready to end the suffering.

His finger squeezes the trigger ever so slightly.

And he doesn't pull the trigger(what a letdown)

Instead, he recites to himself a prayer he had memorised since childhood([Im not even going to bother typing this out. Go read chapter zero])

"*SIGH*, I gotta warn the great-great-grandkids."

"Oh and I need gold, might come in handy." The old professor thinks out loud as he cradles the gun from God.
