--Awakening plane forest--

A young man dressed in all black was  standing at the edge of the forest 

his eyes gleaming with curiosity 

 he could  feel a strong energy attracting him its location in depths of the forest

'If I'm not mistaken this energy is coming from the portal  that leads to the trial grounds for the divine inheritance '

'But why am i feeling it so early? From what i remember about the novel it took the most talented  God from another awakening plane a month to feel this strong of a connection with the portal and he only felt it when  he was already deep inside the forest'

Putting those thoughts behind him 

the young man focused on the energy and started running towards it

--an hour later--

The young man had been running for an hour now and not surprisingly his body was still in peak condition so he didnt feel tired

As a God especially a Dragon God his stamina and agility was immense and it would only become better as his cultivation improved

After  running for a while he started wondering why he hadn't encountered any beasts even though he was getting deeper into the awakening plane forest

What he didn't know was the reason those beasts weren't near the outer edge of the forest was because of the shadow Dragon inside him that roared while he was unconscious 

Those beasts didn't even want to meet something as powerful as that dragon 

 its powerful aura and roar served them  a warning and that was to stay away from the outer edge of the forest 

A few hours later and the young man was still running

 the awakening plane forest wasn't small after all

 it was said to be as wide as 2 continents and his destination was the center of this forest 

Even at the incredibly fast pace he had been travelling

 he understood it would still take him a couple of days before he reached the center of the forest where the portal was

Even though the young man hadn't encountered any beast while  running he never let his gaurd down and his eyes shone in vigilance mixed with a bit of excitement 

He narrowed his eyes and looked forward

 he realised he was running towards the edge of a high cliff and below it was a forest

But he knew that the durability of his Dragon physiology though weak compared to future Outer Gods wouldn't suffer harm from falling from such a high place

'Here we go ' the young man thought as he was three steps away from the cliff 

Without hesitation he ran forward and jumped off  free falling  to the grounds below him

 "Boom!"

 The sound of destroyed earth could be heard as the young man now stood in a crater inside the great forest

His eyes surveyed the area with vigilance for a few seconds before he was on his way again 

Running at astonishing speeds the young man kept moving 

He released a mana pulse a skill he used in his first life wich allowed him to sense everything around him in a 10 km radius 

 his eyes suddenly narrowed when he sensed a pack of divine wolves in the same realm as him coming his way 

A broad smile apeared on his face as a red saber apeared in his hand and he coated it with a bit of his mana

When he saw the wolves they were just like how he remembered them in his first life, giants...standing at 9 feet tall ,almost all divine beasts were abnormally large

And almost all divine beasts  in the awakening plane forest were in the first 1 stage God realm 

 with his skills he was confident he could take them on

"Slash!" The sound of a saber coated with mana could be heard piercing a wolfs neck as blood gushed out of it

The 4 other wolves were suprised when they suddenly saw their pack leader's head roll on the ground 

the poor pup didn't even understand  how it died

Their surpise quickly turned to anger as they saw the perpetrator was a young man who was almost half their size 

with a howl the wolves growled and soon charged at the young man who seemed to be staring at them with a huge smirk on his face

He disappeared from his spot and soon reappeared between two wolves

 with incredible speeds he stabbed into the necks of both wolves in a matter of seconds , killing them instantly 

'Hm? so their vital spots are the same as wolves from earth. Good to know.'

With that thought he charged towards the two remaining wolves 

 And with a jump in the air his  body rotated and slashed off the first  wolves neck , he had killed so many people in his second life as an assassin that killing these wolves felt like child's play

The other wolf was still in a state of surprise when it saw that its 3 companions  died in a matter of seconds that it didnt even notice the young man disapear again 

With a thud sound the last wolves head fell to the ground

'Well that was...flashy,but also fun' the young man thought with a small smile 

The reason he was able to move much faster than those wolves even though they were in the same realm as him was because he had coated his feet with mana wich boosted his speed by a large margin 

Another skill he learned in his  first life as a God

 the only problem with this skill was it would drain alot of his mana if he continually used it wich is why he only used it in this fight 

Without wanting to waste anymore time the young man continued his journey moving  into the depths of the forest 

As he kept running he could feel his connection to the energy leading him to the trial grounds growing stronger 

He couldn't help but wonder why his connection to the portal was so strong

'The trial attracts the strong hearted who wish to rule, perhaps it can sense my resolve even though I am thousands of kilometers away from it'

Thinking this was the answer the young man continued his travels
