I woke up in the same bed as before, the ceiling started to look somewhat familiar. I was still coming back to my senses and was trying to get up when I was abruptly stopped.

Two tiny arms enveloped me as I was trying to make sense of the situation.

“I- I thought yo- you wouldn’t wake up!”

This time the stuttering wasn’t due to shyness, she was crying while hugging me, I could feel her tiny body pressing against me, maybe a little too tight, enough so I could feel her racing heart, but I was used to it. I hugged her back.

“I am alright, everything is fine”

“A-are you sure?”

I could feel her slightly tremble while hugging me.

“Yes, I am perfectly fine~”

It took her a little but she finally let go of me, although in my opinion, she could have stayed hugging me a little longer…

“I am just afraid of needles~”

I said while patting her, she didn’t show a negative reaction to it, so I just assumed she was okay with it. I continued to run my fingers through her fluffy hair while she wiped her tears with her sleeve.

“I- I thought I had a- accidentally cursed you”

She said still sobbing, thankfully she wasn’t looking at me, I felt my soul leave my body and my surprise showed in my expression.

“A cu- curse you say”

I tried to sound calm, but my words barely came out.

“You never heard about the story of the girl who poked her finger in a needle and fell asleep for a long time?”

I was still at a loss for words, but I am pretty sure that was the plot of a famous fairy tale.

“I am awake now so everything is fine”

Even I was unsure of myself now, it was the first time she sounded like an actual witch…

She ended up making another cup of tea for me, today had been a weird day, I reflected on it while sitting at the kitchen table.

It started with the usual classes and now I am in the middle of somewhere with a stranger, and it somehow didn’t feel bad at all.

I took another sip of my slightly sweet tea, the so-called stranger was sitting to my right, with ink and a pen, writing a letter to her mother.

I am sending in together with this letter a package containing the potion you asked me to make in your last letter.

You should drink a few spoons of it every day before sleeping and before eating lunch (make sure not to forget or it won’t have any effect!).

It should help with your back pain…

It seems royal blood is good for back pains… This isn’t even the weirdest thing I learned today, after all, there is a school for witches somewhere in the world…

I didn’t read any more of the letter to not invade her privacy, but I noticed how cute her handwriting was, similar to those of the noble’s daughters who sent me tea party invitations every week.

Cuter than her handwriting however was her while she was concentrated, the sun rays that came through the window close by hit her smooth white skin and made it shine. Once again I lost myself in admiring her, it was like if I stopped looking she would just disappear and I had to admire her while I still could.

The thought of her disappearing made my chest tighten, so I tried to push it back to the depths of my mind where it came from. I once again fought against the urge to pat her…

It took her a bit to finish writing it, I was so engrossed in watching her that I forgot about the tea, which now had already gotten cold. I watched her neatly folding the letter to fit on an envelope and I couldn’t help but read a few lines as she did.

…the one to help me was this beautiful lady, she has long and silky smooth blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes, her body is perfect like that of a princess…

Why was she describing me like that!? It was now my turn to blush and try to hide, my face was hot and I must have been as red as a tomato, luckily the poor lighting helped me hide it.

“You didn’t like the tea?”

I am glad she hadn’t noticed.

“It was good, but I am just really tired~”

I couldn’t help but yawn, even though I spent almost half the day unconscious my body was completely exhausted.

She nodded with her head and went in the direction of the window, opening it let in a rush of cold air, the sun was almost setting and the few remnants of heat were already disappearing.

“It has been a busy day for sure~”

I noticed an owl came to land on the window frame.

“Albert~ make sure to deliver this to mom”

She presented to the owl a package to which the owl responded by carefully grabbing it with its feet and flying away into the sky as she watched it.

Even the strangeness of it all couldn’t make me take my attention away from her, with her back turned to me she looked like she came straight up out of a painting. Another image to burn into my brain.

I once again wondered why she had been constantly in my mind since we first bumped into each other, she was all that I could think about, and being with her made my heart flutter.

I had never felt something like this before, being so focused on someone that I might even forget to breathe, her face was all I wanted to see, her voice all I wanted to hear.

I searched my brain in search of what this might be but the closest thing I could relate it to was to certain stories I had heard, certain stories about… Love.
