If one listens carefully, they would be able to make out a sound which sounds like hundreds of horses galloping, coming from the other side of the door. Everyone, not just the ninjas who have been killing zombies in the past week, are struck dumb by the scene before them.

A massive quantity of zombies — so great as to render all who see it speechless — approach the door of the house.

Despite seeing thousands of zombies before, Hiro and the girls have never been surrounded by zombies and the only plan they have is to go through the horde. For the ninja, they are shocked because there are still so many zombies remaining despite having killed thousands of zombies for the past week at the cost of sixteen of their comrades.

“Why, in such numbers…”

“Looks like it’s more than one or two hundred… there should be several hundreds of them… or more…” Genma says while peeking through the opening in the covered window.

The falling snow makes their view blurred and it is difficult to get an exact count.

Wreathed in the scent of rot, the shambling mass of undead pressed in toward the doors like gathering clouds. It is not just zombies down there; there could also be a few quicker and more intelligent undead — the white haired ghouls.

Some of the girls could not help their shivering.

Because they are separated by sturdy brick wall, the undead could not attack them as long as the wall held out. However, even if they mobilize all their strength, it is doubtful whether they could fend off such a massive horde of the undead. They are above average fighters an several of them are battle hardened and talented but they are essentially totally outnumbered, and they have no confidence in wiping out these large number of such creature.

In  addition, zombies could turn their bitten victims into others of their own kind. The ninjas has first hand experience of seeing their comrades turning into zombies after being bitten. If things go poorly, they might end up becoming zombies themselves and attacking their fellows. And while they have not seen any rare ghoul yet, the the ninjas have a bad feeling — that if they do not wipe them all out, a rare ghoul would end up appearing sooner or later.

The undead tide washes up against the side of the wall.

Doom. Doom.

The swarming, mindless zombies have no sense of pain, and bang wildly against the wall. It is as if they know that they could attack the living if they broke the walls down.

Doom. Doom.

The sounds of repeated pounding and the constant moans of the dead came from the other side of the walls.

They do not need siege rams. The zombies — who do not care if their bodies are destroyed by their non-stop battering — are siege weapons in their own right.

Cold sweat breaks out on the backs of the girls who see this.

"Are we really going out?" Hiro says half seriously.

"What option do we have?" Genma says while still peeking.

"Get ready, everyone. We are going out. Danzo, restrain your spell until I order it."

Dan, the leader, who has recovered his senses by now, continues giving orders:

“The ones behind, take your swords and stab the undead getting close to the doors!”

The girls remember their duty as they hear the orders, and they start thrusting savagely at the zombies as the door is opened slightly. The zombies cover the space like a flood, so any stroke of theirs found a home in undead flesh.

They thrust, withdraw, and thrust again.

Tainted blood spills over the ground, while their noses were soon inured to the stench of decay. They repeat the same motions over and over again like workers. They kill dozens of zombies, which fall to the ground and are trampled to paste by the ones behind them.

Because the zombies have little intelligence, they do not strike against the human stabbing at them with their blades. Repeating the same simple actions erode their sense of danger.

Suddenly, a very fat zombie, definitely not the rare ghoul falls and rolls into opening of the door. Its huge body push them away, allowing zombies to slip pass the entrance.

"Heii!" Genma shouts to warn everyone. The girls' screams filled the air.

"Fall back. Stand in one long line. We will run after I shout." Dan, maintaining his composure and tells his instruction.

Everyone hurriedly run to the different parts of the ground floor, and they could hear the sounds of the undead banging at the walls getting louder. The brick wall themselves began groaning under the strain.

The sense of doom grows stronger. The chances of them holding out until help arrive, or that no other rare ghoul would show up are very low. The tide of death is flooding in, and only the god know whether they could escape with their life intact.

Just as the girls are increasingly consumed by despair, they smell smoke. Everyone reflexively looks to the source of the smell. Before their eyes, there is a small ball rolling towards the door with smokes coming out from it.

Genma shouts, "It is my bomb. Close your eyes for seconds and crouch. After explosion, run... Escape!"

Kabooom.

As they obey his instructions, the ball explodes. When they open their eyes, the door and walls beside it have been destroyed. Dozens of zombies that were walking near there, have been torn to pieces.

"Now!" Dan shouts.

They run beyond the house while the zombies are looking around aimlessly.

A fat zombie is blocking their way. Dan hurls a sharp stick he made last night with unbelievable speed. The others hurriedly look where the stick has flown.

The large zombie staggers back like it has been hit in the head by an even larger foe, before collapsing to the ground. A thunderous crash provides the proof that the gigantic creature has been knocked down.

"Kill, kill while escaping!"

Faced by the absolute confidence of Dan, the ninja leader, the girls and Hiro kill the zombies while evading and running. Even the sorceress, Selene stabs zombies.

Dan who is leading the way, breaks into a sprint and kick two zombies before performing a wide slash to clear the route.

They must go further as the stunned zombies are gradually gaining their senses.

Two figures shot past the  zombies and nimbly bounded up before killing the enemies behind them.

The zombies stare with open mouths and stunned eyes for a while, as though a typhoon has just swept past them. The others behind them take the chance to kill the puzzled zombies.

They must go further as the stunned zombies are gradually gaining their senses.

Two figures shot past the  zombies and nimbly bounded up before killing the enemies behind them. They are Clementine and Sekrit.

The zombies stare with open mouths and stunned eyes for a while, as though a typhoon has just swept past them. The others behind them take the chance to kill the puzzled zombies.

Meanwhile, Danzo and Genma in front of the girls has been throwing small stones everywhere to confuse the creatures that are more attracted to sound. The plan is for Hiro and the girl run in a group while covering each other while the three male ninjas create havoc in their front.

After some time, countless bodies litter the ground. Mountains of corpses are everywhere, covering the entire graveyard. Although some of the undead hang on to a thread of unlife, then are being killed left and right, they seem to gain their predatory sense. For the past minutes, the zombies had been standing and staring left to right, making the zombies easy target for the humans. But the ninjas are running out of small rocks.

The smell of decay floats over as they expect, and they start feeling endangered. As the zombies start to move smoothly, the humans are reduced to dodging and escaping rather than killing zombies.

"What bothersome pests.” Sekrit laments as she finds it harder to kill zombies.

"This is going nowhere!" Hiro shouts towards Dan who is 20 meters ahead.

"Still, if this keeps up, it’ll only be a stalemate,” Dan grumbles as he notices the huge throng of undead that still remain.

Dan has been somewhat shaken by this. He forcefully jerks his head back to double check the distance between himself and the girls.

With every step Dan, Danzo and Genma take forward, the zombies take one back. The zombies unconsciously encircle them in this way while keeping their distance from him.

This circle moves with their steps. Although the undead seems to be looking for a chance to attack, any who step forward are immediately destroyed by the trio. Therefore, the undead merely surround him, but some still make a move on them.

Countless undead have already been annihilated by the trio when they carelessly strayed too close to the trio. Even the mindless zombies have subconsciously learned something from this, which is why half of the zombies have chosen to surround them only.

"However! That said, time is still getting quite tight. It can’t be helped — I guess you’ll have to carve a path through them.” Dan commands.

Danzo unleashes his power.
