As part of her tactic, Kurotsuchi had gathered dozens of pebbles from various locations and keep them in a special bag. Each pebble is not small, a bit smaller than a child's fist.

She grips the pebbles from her bag tightly. She is behind the knight, about five meters away and at an angle. A complete blind spot.

Here goes nothing!!

Mustering every ounce of her strength, Kurotsuchi throws the pebble straight at the back of the Lyla’s head, which is exposed without any sort of protection.

The advantage of invisibility is she could turn anything she touches to be invisible. She could even turn human invisible by touching her hand.

Nevertheless, big things like house, wall, or carriage can't be turned invisible.

She could even adjust the level of invisibility.

During invisibility, she won't produce any sound.

Using her talent, she create a unique ability from Invisibility. She calls it Stealth.

It is skill beneath invisibility but combining several basic ninja tricks like camouflage, light movement, with lesser invisibility.

When she throws pebbles, opponent can't trace the origin of attack.

I got him—she thinks.

In the blink of an eye,  Lyla’s body rotates like a tornado. With her  longsword, she smashes the pebble to pieces.

"Wha…?"

Kurotsuchi accidentally lets out a sound. How could Lyla move like that?! How did she sense her attack even? By sound? Her mind is noisy.

A flying pebble would make a sound as it cut through the wind.

The pebble would only make a sound once it was out of range of Kurotsuchi’s Stealth. Yet the woman was able to hear it and then react quickly.

Impossible…

Hairs stand all over Kurotsuchi’s body.

Lyla’s eyes are fixed towards her direction.

"There you are."

This would be the second time she is face to face with death. The first was during the zombies incident.

"You were promising, but this is the end for you!" Lyla yells.

She brandishes her long sword effortlessly, exposing the shining blade, its width uniform from base to tip.

"Hiyaaaaa!"

Lyla catches a glimpse of a black cloak behind a wooden pillar. She brings the sword down with a flash, destroying the post along with the figure in black. Air pushes forward. The shockwave from the swing struck the wall of the building and burst outside. It isn’t magic. Unlike Kurotsuchi, Lyla has zero ability in magic. She causes the shockwave by sheer power from her swinging her sword.

"…What a letdown."

The cloud of dust settled. Under the remain of the broken pillar is a black cloak.

"Hmm?"

Lyla’s eyes widens. There is no body. Only the cloak is pinned underneath.

Kurotsuchi heart pounded in his chest. The trap he set earlier did its job. He hung his cloak on a spot where it could be seen for just a little. She then threw the pebble from that direction. Once the enemy followed the trajectory, the first thing she’d see would be the cloak, making it look like someone was hiding behind the pillar.

Kurotsuchi set it up for insurance. She was actually optimistic, thinking she might not need it. Without any plate armour, she assumed Lyla was an easy target for her pebbles.

That was way unexpected. What’s with that her reflex? She ponders.

Kurotsuchi is at the corner near the entrance and threw the stone from there. Lyla had an idea of the general direction where the attack came from, but she didn’t know the exact location of her foe. As proof, the Lyla was looking around restlessly, searching for her.

Kurotsuchi tries desperately to stop her legs from shaking. Gripping her dagger tight on her right hand, she walks towards Lyla.

Earlier Kurotsuchi was planning on engaging in close combat. Or rather, he just wanted to get close – he had no intention of fighting.

One-hit instant kill.

The captain attacked earlier with the intent to kill. This isn’t an opponent that Kurotsuchi could go easy on.

Time to take down this whore, she swears in her heart.
