"Damn it. Those cowards are still hiding behind the walls!" Irijina shouts.

"No. They are smart enough to know that our number is bigger than them." Sekrit analyzes the situation for everybody.

"If only Mirai or Kurotsuchi is here, we can get past the walls easily." Lyla says.

"Anyway, we have the city surrounded. They have no way to escape except Korcari Wilds on their east." Rihito who is at most front speaks without looking back at them.

"Count Riheet. What about that strategy of yours? I am worried about his majesty." Gertrude walks to the dark elf's man and questions him.

"Don't worry, viscountess.  He has such powerful women at his sides including my sister. Just wait here until they reach the back of the city."

"Aaah. Need to wait that long!!!" Clementine yells out her complaint.

Baronet Ben-David had finally reached his destination, a patch of road in Baron Badeni’s demesne. He had led his soldiers on a march, starting from the previous day and camping overnight, to the location of the attack. According to intel, a Count Virginia’s food supply carriage would be passing through this place.

Ben-David was on horseback, looking down upon his lined up soldiers.

They were conscripted soldiers, or more accurately villagers, under his command.

A total of fifty were gathered.

He had sent draft orders throughout his entire territory, but not many men responded to the call. The most common response was that they had already served the time they were obligated to.

The truth was, this heavily upset him.

The truth was, this heavily upset Ben-David.

The plan was devised for the future prosperity of their lands, for the good of everyone who lived there. There was also an abundance of potential spoils of war, which Ben-Davis had given thought to and proposed that it should be distributed to everybody. Still, no one came to help.

He thought they’re too foolish.

A bunch of peasants who could not tell if something was beneficial to them or not. No, this was the exact reason why they had to be led and lorded over by a smart guy such as himself.

Despite trying so hard to convince himself otherwise, his anger towards those who didn’t understand him flared up. He had thought about forced conscription, but that would definitely enrage his old man, who already had a foot through death’s door.

After all of his hard work, he managed to gather fifty men, but these were either old geezers well past their prime, sick youths with frail bodies, or men with inflated egos who went around looking for fights in their villages and were generally fractious.

To put it bluntly, they were the nuisances of their village and none of them were worth the money. Even so, Ben-David felt an indescribable excitement basking in the gaze of his soldiers.

He had a hunch that a widely circulated heroic tale of his own was about to begin. No, it had already begun.

As his territory will inevitably expand, so too would his status grow. He will soon be joining the world’s stage under brilliant limelight.

He was about to deliver the first blow to the prominent aristocrat.

As a ploy to contain the coup d'etat, this would surely allow Ben-David to receive high praise from the royal family and a rank that’s befitting this achievement. Perhaps he could even marry that beautiful princess.

“-So, milord, can we actually attack them?”

Ben-David, who had been basking in his dream, was dragged back to reality as if a bucket of cold water had just been dumped over him.

He returned to his senses and looked at the soldier who had asked the question.

The soldier was an ordinary man, around 30 years old. He wore disheveled clothes and, for some reason, was holding a rusty sword. Even a club would have been better than a rusty sword, otherwise even some of the sticks lying around here would have worked as well. Ben-David wanted to say something about that, but the pathetic sword was probably the result of his order to have them bring their own weapons.

Frankly, seeing that a few of the villagers were carrying shovels gave Ben-David a bit of a headache. Apart from them, however, the group as a whole appeared as though they were some destitute bandits. Perhaps it could even fool their opponents into believing so.

The soldiers around them apparently agreed with the man’s doubts, as everyone within sight turned their heads towards him as if to say “yeah, I was thinking about the same thing”.

“It’ll be fine, this is a move to save the Kingdom.”

As Ben-David panicked and knew not what to do, he heard the overpowering sound of horses’ hooves stomping on the ground. He turned his head to see two horsemen galloping towards him. A horse was ridden by a man while there was a woman on the other one.

The two stopped before his group and unmounted.

"Countess Clementine. This should be another enforcement for Jaworski!"

The man stared at his group with hostility.

"Eeee. This group is bigger than the previous one. I hope you guys can entertain me."

The young woman with short blond hair spoke playfully and grinned eerily towards them.

Although his soldiers seemed cautious, Ben-David was in awe of her beauty.

The woman called "Clementine" was good looking but her attire is alluring exposing her whole navel area, thighs and only covering small parts of her nicely shaped boobs.

"Woman. You must be working for Count Virginia. I am Baronet Ben-David. My name shall be known throughout the whole kingdom. Be my woman and I shall spare your life."

She only grinned and crouched.

"I am coming for you."

She suddenly jumped like an unleashed arrow towards the men.

"Arggg!"

"Wooo!!"

One by one; his soldiers were slaughtered by her. It was an unbelievable sight. Such a delicate looking girl easily defeated each man within seconds.

Ben-David was frowned upon by his horse.

Within minutes, corpses of fifty men were scattered around him.

"You are the boss, right."

The panic Ben-David fell from his horse.

"Please, spare me!"

"How long had it been since I last tortured a man. Hehehe.."

"Nooooo!"

Baron Badeni, Baron Batowski and Baron Borch were standing nervously before Count Jaworski.

Jaworski shouted,

"Where are other reinforcements? There should be 20 baronets and another 3 barons  in the northern region. Why are none of them appearing?"

The three barons looked at each other.

Borch replied, "Could it be that the reinforcements were stopped by the rebels?"

Badeni nodded and added, "That's probably what's happening out there. They are surrounding us with forces bigger than ours. They should be able to spare some forces to stop a small group of reinforcements. Probably the reinforcements came at different times. They could make it if they gather entire small units into one large unit, though."

"Furthermore, Baronets could only muster conscripted peasants. Half of the rebels look like proper soldiers."

Jaworski hammers the desk with his hands angrily.

"Where did such well equipped soldiers come from? Could it be that Ferelden or Dioral are invading us?"

Borch shook his head, "No. I don't think so. We could find recognizable flags or insignias. They only raise a red flag with a hammer and a book symbol on each of them."

"Which sovereign is that? But the fact they could reach north of Castall without problem only means they came from either Ferelden or Dioral."

Silent engulfed the room as their faces turned gloomy.

***

Border of western Korcari Wilds behind Torun city.

"Finally, we arrived at the destination. Dozens of trolls even at the edge of the forest. That's tiring."

Reina wipes sweat on her face.

"I don't I can do more. My werewolf power has reached its limit. It is daytime now. I had spent a lot of energy killing orcs." Brita seems to be struggling to even walk.

"Same here. I am running out of magical power." Selene also gives up. Her legs are trembling that I had to princess-carry this elven girl.

The dark elven girl, Lupine seems to be walking fine but she is breathing hard. Her left hand was wounded by trolls in the recently concluded battle.

The two girls at the mist front now are Mirai and Farnese.

They are fine as Farnese fought using her shotgun while Mirai didn't fight as much as others.

Unfortunately, Farnese can no longer shoot as she is running out of bullets.

We walk out of the woods into a green plain.

Beyond the plain, we could see buildings and walls.

The back of the city reminds me of Redcliffe. Torun's left and right are protected by natural barriers in the form of rocky hills that even stretch into western region of Korcari Wilds.

This is all part of Rihito's plan - sending a very small group of very capable fighters into western Korcari Wilds and penetrate into the back of Torun fortress.

It is like striking using a double edged sword. We were sent to infiltrate Torun while clearing trolls on the way there.

Still, with only six girls, this is obviously a very risky endeavor.

But still, Lupine could easily give Sekrit and Clementine a run of their money.

Brita as a werewolf, is an  even more effective fighting force than the mighty Lyla. Selene is out of the world sorceresses.

Farnese's "Liberator" shotgun easily destroyed each troll in one shot.

Reina is not a great fighter but she could function as a ranger. She and Mirai acted as guardians for the four girls in case they were overwhelmed by trolls.

Most importantly, we somehow managed to reach our destination.

Now, we need Reina's instinct as a thief to locate the entrance gate. Mirai shall teleport us deeper into the fortress.
