Godwin stood tall, his imposing figure commanding attention in any room he entered. He was a mountain of a man, with broad shoulders that stretched his shirts to their limits. His towering height, easily surpassing six feet, added to his air of dominance. Veins snaked across his arms, pulsating with power, as if they were the lifeblood of his incredible might.

His arms were like logs, thick and solid, hinting at the immense power they contained. Tracing the length of his forearms, thick cords of muscle rippled beneath the surface, accentuating the raw strength that lay within.

In the dimly lit tavern, Beside him, a very young man stood amidst a crowd of patrons, blending in with his unremarkable physical appearance. His average height allowed him to easily go unnoticed, overshadowed by taller and more imposing figures around him. He was Jester. Jester's unassuming demeanor further contributed to his inconspicuous presence in the establishment.

His facial features were unremarkable, lacking the chiseled jawline or striking eyes that might attract attention. Jester had a mop of tousled brown hair that fell just above his eyebrows, slightly obscuring his forehead. His complexion was fair, neither overly pale nor tanned, giving him an ordinary appearance.

Jester's build was not particularly muscular or imposing. He had a lean frame, suggesting an agility that was more suited for swift movements rather than brute force. His clothes were modest and practical, designed for ease of movement and blending in rather than making a fashion statement. He wore a nondescript tunic and trousers, both in earthy tones, allowing him to blend seamlessly into the background of the tavern.

While his physical appearance may have been unimpressive, Jester compensated for it with his alertness and a keen gaze that observed his surroundings.

The patrons in the tavern kept leering towards the two men's direction. Their horny expressions were actually caused by the young woman sitting nonchalantly in front of the two standing men.

A sense of curiosity mingled with caution as patrons stole glances at the young woman seated at the corner table before the two men. With her short blond hair fashioned into a unique blob hairstyle, she exuded an air of nonchalance, unaffected by the attention she drew. Her delicate frame belied the strength concealed within, revealed by the visible contours of her toned muscles, which adorned her exposed arms, thighs, and a tantalizing glimpse of her navel.

Men of all walks of life found themselves unable to tear their gaze away from her, their eyes wandering appreciatively across her figure. Yet, a mixture of intimidation prevented any of them from mustering the courage to approach her. The reason became evident as their gaze shifted to the stilettos hanging in a decorative fashion around her slender waist. Their polished blades glimmered under the tavern's flickering lanterns, serving as a silent reminder of the danger that lay in challenging her.

She sat there, sipping her drink with an air of self-assuredness. The skimpy outfit she wore, though revealing, was unmistakably a suit of metal armor. Its intricate design hinted at a meticulous craftsmanship, while its strategic gaps in coverage ensured her freedom of movement. The contrast between her exposed skin and the metallic plates only accentuated the paradoxical allure of vulnerability and invincibility that surrounded her.

As the men continued their discreet admiration, they couldn't help but notice the handguards encasing her strong, yet graceful hands.

She seemed lost in her own world, unbothered by the attention she commanded. Her eyes, a captivating shade of red, scanned the room with a subtle hint of amusement.

"Lady Clementine. This letter is from our informer."

Clementine looked over the letter she was given. As the corners of her mouth lifted, she childishly laughed.

“Hey, hey. Now, you’re saying there’s going to be a war? Ku ha ha ha!"

She spoke to herself and imagined the sensation of cutting people down without even talking to the two men standing before her.

“I’m fine with it as long as there’s money.” Godwin didn’t even look at her as he said that.

“You got that right. As long as I can cut people, it’s all good.”

When it comes to an abhorrent like her, if ones were surprised by something at this level, then ones wouldn’t last. They knew that, so both of them didn’t bother reacting to her.

"It seems we’re picking a fight against two countries this time.”

Clementine happily laughed. As expected, this time, Godwin couldn’t help but ask.

“…We’re picking a fight with a country?”

“Yeah! Awesome, ain’t it?”

Jester was making a difficult face as he thought about this, while Clementine was drinking a beer and making merry as usual.

“Hah? What’s the problem, small guy?

You’re not scared now, are ya?”

“No, but show me that letter.”

“Hmm? Here.”

After looking over the contents, Jester turned to Clementine.

"It seems the factions His Majesty was teaming up with kept losing battles. His enemy, the Saxon-Fanoss Union is gaining ground. They were wreaking havoc at the south."

“Oh~…”

Clementine drowsily glanced at Jester as she drank another mouthful of liquor and spoke.

“Jester the coward. This isn’t the first time that Hiro’s been losing. He often strikes back. If you keep making a fuss, I’ll kill you.”

Clementine threatened Jester, but the latter just shook his head.

“Alright. I’ll contact Lady Claire in the south then… If there’s anything you want to say, I’ll tell her too.”

“…I’ve got nothing to talk to her about.”

Clementine said in a seemingly pouting manner.

“Alright. I’ll send them your regards then.”

“T-That’s uncalled for! Idiot!”

It was a rare sight for Clementine to be panicking, but Jester just left her alone. After that a dozen men entered. They were also Clementine's underlings for this mission. When she saw them, her eyes dazzled like that of a predator eyeing its prey.

“Oh! Rejoice, useless men! Your beloved slutty merchant has sent a letter.”

When Clementine saw their eyes twinkling, she smiled mischievously and said.

“This time we’re going to war! Kill lots, okay? Ahaha!”

Immediately after that, the men screamed.
