The Northern Chaos God Dungeon

PS4 POV

We were clearing our way through the dungeon at speeds that would make most think we are the monsters. And of course we were.

My team had some of the best experts we had available. Not only did it have some of my own letters, I also had some of 2’s letters, and 2 for 1 as well. Sadly 1’s forces aren’t quite what they were before his level boost, but they are still highly skilled.

However, we had to slow down when we approached what was the third floor’s boss room. Because the temperature was rising rapidly, despite this crypt-like floor having nothing in common with fire or heat. Perhaps the boss room is a crematorium.

I had 2’s support oriented casters use Fire Protection magic on us and we kept going.

As we reached the boss room, we were faced with something we didn’t expect at all.

In the decently sized room, a girl was laying on the back of a large fox-monster, both basking in the light given by eight small … Suns.

I’d heard of this. One of the abnormal’s girls. But how is she here? She was clothed in nothing more than underwear, as if a dungeon like this is nothing for her.

“Took you a while.” She said, without even opening her eyes. “I expected you to be faster. Hubby didn’t teleport me that deep in the dungeon.” She began to sit up, still keeping her eyes closed, and the nine-tailed fox she was laying on didn’t seem to care.

“How are you here? How did you know?” I barked at her.

“Oh, we didn’t. Well, we kind of did. We considered it a possibility, but admittedly you did a decent job at masking this part of your operation.” She told me, as she opened her eyes and stretched.

“... This part?” I questioned. How much do they know? They can’t possibly know about our true plan, can they?

“Yes, this part. We know it all. Have for a while. All of these little mirrors trying to keep us from what you are doing.” She said, and I felt something crawling on my back.

They know everything!

I attempted to contact the Master, but despite my attempts, I didn’t hear back.

“Hubby is blocking your communications.” The fox-girl said. “You won’t reach the Power Structure Holder.”

I … I can’t warn Master? No! Did they really consider everything?

It can’t be, right? I felt the wave of mana. 22 succeeded. That ancient being is free at the very least. And with any likelihood, since they couldn’t prevent that release, the other one is free and awake as well.

Even if they know, they can’t stop all parts of our plan. Not all at once. I’ll just have to do my part and try to beat this girl.

I looked at her again, and she was now fully dressed in an outfit that looked like flowing robes. I don’t know where she got it from or how she had time to do the ribbon tied around her waist. It didn’t look like it was fit for combat, but you can’t always tell with just a look. She was holding a large bow, and that does fit what we know about her.

I was a bit worried about the Suns in the room. The reports we had about them were not at all reliable, nor complete. And the large fox was also a potential problem.

I prepared myself and let out some of my Overpowering Aura. It was somewhat a double edged sword, as it would hit my teammates as well, but it will be worth it.

But as soon as my aura reached the fox woman, she countered back with an Overpowering Aura of her own. One much more powerful and firey than mine. It was even stronger than 2’s, perhaps even reaching 1’s level.

No match for Master though. At least that is a relief.

I saw my mates fall to the ground because of the aura, but I was able to stand up to it. I don’t know if I can fight like this, but I will try.

I took a step forward, then another and another. Preparing my claws for a strike, I slashed at the fox lady, but my claws passed through her as if she was an illusion.

Something hit the back of my neck and I fell.

I woke up a little later in a prison. And it wasn’t just me. A huge number of us had been taken in, including most of us Prime numbers.

Things got worse when I learnt that 22 had been taken in before she ever released the darkness being. While they believed that she had somehow managed to activate the magic, I told them it was most likely the abnormal who released it.

We had underestimated him, and badly.

The Soul of Darkness taming squad (Alice, Einar, Eline and Brian (soul copy))

Brian, Soul Copy, POV

Getting the Soul to work with us wasn’t too bad.

Learning to communicate took a bit. The Soul spoke the spirit language, but unlike spirits, its words didn’t translate into a language we could understand.

Luckily I can speak the language so I took care of that part. But it is interesting that this Soul speaks the spirit language, since the others spoke regular speech.

The Soul of Darkness wasn’t childish like Pele used to be, but it was bored. It hadn’t been able to see the outside world much while it was trapped, but sometimes Dark attributed mana would leak into its prison and it could take in some things of the outside world.

So by telling the Soul how the world was now, and letting it explore the area around us using its mana, we were able to get along.

Einar and Eline were really effective in entertaining the Soul. They had been playing with their Darkness skills for a long time, so they knew how to do fun things with them. A lot of it was different techniques they used to train their skills, but they are fun.

Meanwhile Alice showed the Soul new Dark Magic techniques. Stuff that hadn’t been around when the Soul was sealed here.

The Soul got a little worried at one point, which I realized was because of the Immortal Snail. It had somehow sensed the release, despite the distance to the Immortal.

That is when I learnt that this Soul had been born around the age when the Immortals were made, so during its young age it had to escape the immortals. And after the immortals were sealed, the Soul of Darkness was assumed to be one of them and it also got falsely sealed.

I did feel bad for it, but at the same time, there are System records of the Soul of Darkness actually causing problems, so I wasn’t sure it was as innocent as it claims to be.

Luckily it didn’t take too long for Lua and Janina to kill the snail, and it helped the Soul relax. But not as much as I assumed it would. Because it now knew that we could kill it, since we had killed an immortal.

Still, I got it tamed in the end. My true self teleported here quickly, absorbed the copy back into him, tamed the Soul of Darkness and named it Nyx, after the primordial goddess of the Night.

The Smorog destruction force

Power Structure 3 POV

Our path towards Smorog hadn’t been as easy as we believed, but we did find ways around our issues.

As we ran into more of those traps, we began to see how they had been laid out. And more importantly, that they had been freshly laid out. That meant scents we could track, and by avoiding spots where the scent was the strongest, we were able to avoid the mines.

It is a shame I already lost most of the beast-folk I had with me to the mines, but with the few we have left, we managed to make it further.

However, before we reached the first Smorog village, another force showed itself. A massive golem made of metal flew over us, before circling back around and bringing itself into a hover just a bit ahead of us.

It was red, green and blue, and some of its parts made it look like three golems that had combined into one super golem. It also had six mysterious orbs of light floating around it.

{Attention, force of the United States of Power.} We heard a female voice coming from the golem. Hugo immediately recognized it, informing me that it was the voice of the abnormal’s dwarf wife. {You have trespassed deep enough into the lands of Smorog. Turn back immediately or I will annihilate you.}

I didn’t much care about her words. I ordered the mages to attack, using Earth Magic alongside them. However, each of our attacks were blocked by the floating orbs of light, and the golem took no damage.

{I will take that as a no.} We heard from the golem. {Bombardment will commence in 30 seconds. I recommend you take cover.} It flew away, towards Smorog.

I didn’t even need to order my forces to go after it, they already did. We may not have damaged it with magic, but that magic defense clearly was reliant on the light orbs, so if we can get past them, we can use magic to damage it. And outside of magic, using hammers, maces and swords is always an option.

However, before we got anywhere, we saw a flash of light in the distance, and just a little later, a massive explosion just next to us.

A few of my troops got caught in the explosion and were injured, perhaps even died, so I ordered everyone to take cover.

We dug ourselves into the ground, hardening the dirt with Earth Magic to keep us safe, while the ground kept shaking from the repeated explosions.

How is she doing that? Magic cannons? Some other sorts of mines?

We had no choice but to hole up and try to weather the storm. While we did so, one of my troops with the skills to see things from a bird’s perspective informed us that the abnormal’s wife had set up massive cannon golems a little ways away, and those cannons were shooting at our location.

So we waited for the cannons to run out of shells, but it felt like it took forever. And to make matters worse, our people began disappearing from our shelters, as if they were being teleported away.

The abnormal must be taking all of us in.

That is when I luckily heard from the truthseer. He told us all that 1’s trip had been a success. But we also learnt that nothing else had worked out as expected.

And sadly, before the truthseer could tell us what to do next, his words were cut off again and we were left to survive on our own.

Luckily the bombardment soon stopped, but by the time it did and we dug ourselves out of our holes, only Hugo and I were left here. The rest had been taken in.

And coming from the direction where the cannons had been, we saw a green golem flying towards us. It had two glowing orbs flying around it, which made me think this golem had been a part of the big one we saw earlier.

And riding on top of the golem was a person, with a multitude of weapons circling around her, like the orbs were circling the golem.

I took a better grip on my hammer, ready to fight her.

HomeBase

Brian POV

I looked over the different battles.

The northern operations had ended. We had won on those fronts already.

The Smorog operation was almost over, just two invaders remained and Wilma was already dealing with them.

On the actual war fronts, the situation was stable. Cailie, after dealing with the PS5, had swam over the buff the Ruiso soldiers, and that had given them a nice advantage over the States. She also prevented PS6 from ordering his troops correctly, so they no longer had to follow his Humanoid Taming powered orders. That fight won’t last all that long until the States surrender.

On the Narra side, Ria and Agunan had flown over to the battle, and with the appearance of my dragon, plenty of soldiers had lost the will to fight. And unlike on the Ruiso side, they didn’t have anyone who could force the soldiers to keep going.

Better yet, the magic circle in the hidden room had just activated, and Hajime was out of this time. I stopped my communications blockade and let the Power Structure Holder hear the reports that were being sent to him.

He quickly gave the order for his armies to surrender. PS3 and Hugo didn’t surrender despite the order, but the two invasion forces surrendered.

So. Now there is just one thing left. Dealing with the Power Structure Holder.

I teleported myself to the magic circle room where he was, and took a seat on the opposite side of the table to him. I noticed he had a pot of tea on the table, so I brought out a saucer and a cup of my own, and poured myself a cup.

I then waited for him to realize that I even was here. The reports must have been a lot.
