Our ride… is this a ride? I think it is. It is called horse riding. Well our ride was going… I can’t say fine as this is not what I would call comfortable.
I was thinking of having The Trojan Horse move at top speed, but that was stupidly bad. I think I would have killed someone if I kept up that speed. So instead we were moving at a decent trot.
I had Laura calculate the speed we would need to make it to Alewatch in the two hours we had, and set the speed a little above it. It was uncomfortable, but we would make it.
“Brian, can’t we slow down?” Lua asked.
“Not really. We won’t make it in time if we do.” I told her.
“But this thing shakes more than the worst carriage.” She complained.
“Sorry, I don’t have anything that flies and can carry this many people.” I told her.
I don’t have a spaceship after all.
(Actually, you do have Gradius. It is a spaceship.) Laura told me.
(Gradius? When did I get that?)
(After getting Blue-Eyes.) Laura said.
(... I totally didn’t overlook it. I would never do that. I just … ignored it.) I muttered in my mind.
(I know you didn’t. Of course you were just waiting for the perfect time to use it. Weren’t you?) Laura teased.
(You know I was. And Gradius wouldn’t fit all of us, would it?)
(No it would not. This was a good choice.) Laura confirmed.
The trot was going… well about as fine as you could expect it to go. My passengers used anything they had with them to protect their behinds from the damage, and even had to keep a horse calm. That’s not on me. If you want out, just say it. I’m not going to force you to stay.
When we ran into the on ground search party, we had to stop for a second. I think everyone was relieved by it and some were even asking for healing magic. It’s not that bad. Stop exaggerating.
(It doesn’t feel as bad to you, Master. You have higher than average defense and the Summoner’s protection skill.) Laura reminded me.
… oh yeah. I guess it might be painful then. My bad.
The ground squad was a little jealous about us in our rain cover, but there is no way we would fit three people and three horses in here. We were almost at max capacity already. Two people, or even three, maybe. But with the horses. No way.
After the quick information exchange, more like an info dump, we were back on the move.
I had to speed up The Trojan Horse just a bit more so we would make it in time. Sadly, this also increased the shaking a bit, but we have to just deal with it.
We made it just in time to the gate. We did have to hurry a bit to get everyone off the horse before the time was up. I even felt a strange mana surging from the card as we were getting off. It was a stronger version of the mana signal that normally comes when the time limit is approaching. Perhaps something like a critical warning. I need to experiment on extending the summoning time. Alice can do it with Mana, so perhaps there is a way I can do it. Unless it’s tied to magic attributes or something. In that case I might not be able to do it, as I don’t have one.
… unless I got one when I got the water spirit’s blessing.
(Laura. Did the blessing affect my attributes?) I asked.
(Sadly no. Master still has no attribute.) Laura told me. (That is why the blessing only gave you the ‘Summon water spirit’ skill. It adjusted to your body. For someone like Lucia, who has the water magic skill, it would boost her water magic on top of gaining the summoning skill.)
Really? So Lua gained even more power than I did.
(Yes she did.) Laura told me.
Lua is too powerful. How is she C-rank again? I feel like she should be at least B-rank.
“Brian. Thank you for bringing everyone back.” The guild master.. the ex-master thanked me.
“I didn’t exactly bring everyone back.” I said back to him.
“Even if they didn’t make it, you brought them back. It’s still better to get back home, instead of rotting on the side of the road.” He told me.
“Being alive is even better.” I argued.
“There is nothing more you could have done. Don’t look at this as you let four people die. Look at this as you saved sixteen people.” The guild master argued.
“I’ll try. Thanks.”

… wait a second. 2 pack tokens. That means two more chances at Monster Reborn.
“Brian. We are heading inside. Are you not coming?” Lua called to me as they were all moving inside the walled part of town.
“... yeah.” I snapped out of my trance. “I’m coming.”
We made it back to the adventurer’s guild. Christina was there waiting for us and she was thankful I brought her husband back in one piece. I distracted her by saying it was the other adventures that kept him safe while they were under attack, and got Christina off my back with that.
I sat down at one of the tables in the guild and Lua brought some ale for me. I didn’t even ask for it, but I got it anyway.
“Are you not going to have any?” I asked her. With her curse now gone, she could have some.
“I did try it, but I'm not really a fan.” She told me.
“Understandable. Not everyone likes it.” I said as I took a gulp.
“What were you thinking about at the gate?” She asked.
“... nothing much. It’s something to do with the system mission.” I told her.
“Is something bad happening again?” She asked.
“Thankfully not. It’s all good news this time.” I told her.
“Then we will take this opportunity to unwind. Even for adventurers, peace is the best.” Lua said as she pulled out her blood flask and took a sip.
“Yes it is.” I responded as I pulled open my pack opener.

(There isn’t a monster reborn in the new sets, right?) I confirmed with Laura.
(No. There is Monster Reincarnation, but that won’t work.) Laura told me.
(Why not?) I asked.
(It would move the soul of the dead to a new vessel, not resurrect them in their old one.)
Well, I guess it is called reincarnation. Not resurrection.

Yes.
No monster reborn for me. Not that I was expecting one at this point. Getting one was lucky enough. Sorry Rico. But I might still make it if I get one tomorrow morning.
With those thoughts, I took another gulp of ale.
After the quick information exchange, more like an info dumb, we were back on the move.
info DUMP i believe is what you were going for.
Yes I did. Fixed.
Thanks for the chapter!
dude, fusionist, a flying talking cat, please summon it!
I could (Brian even has the materials for it) but I would need a reason for Brian to summon it. Brian is very much a 'big number is big' kind of person, so he would likely never summon Fusionist without outside interference.
I could just drop a system mission for it, but then the question becomes why. Why does the system care about a flying cat? And what reward to give for completing the mission.
@nro_8 fusion summon 100 different for a special reward? Gives a bigger purpose to all those weaker cards and increases the diversity of his summoned monsters, its better that wasting all diversity that so many yugioh cards can provide with just sacrificing everything for top uploaders.
@Spearow Not a terrible idea, but that's a lot. Like I have no idea how many sets Brian would need to have opened to have 100 different fusion monsters even available. Something like 10 for a smaller reward would be a lot more manageable. And then the question becomes, what is the reward? One toploader Super Poly could be a reward for summoning something like 10 or 20 different ones, but for 100 I have no idea.
@nro_8 I guess I could do it with something like giving a reward every ten unique monsters fusion summoned, but that again leads to the 'what the reward be though' problem.
And if I did that for fusions, it would make sense I made a similar mission for ritual summons as well.
@nro_8 card pieces to some boss card, that was not part of a set but was released on movies or special events.
Examples:
Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon (one of the first monsters with a negate effect)
Pyramid of Light
Sorcerer of Dark Magic (good card)
Those are from movies, there are the GBA cards as well, cards that came with games:

there are even cards from mcdonalds:

Those are all cards from 2004 if not older, they are all from the same time period as the sets he is opening
Even silent magician came with a nintendo ds game, and its from 2005

@Spearow Thanks for the list. While Pyramid of Light is not really something I'm interested in, the other two from the movie pack definitely are. Giving Brian something like 5 movie packs, or just a copy of the three cards that are only in movie would definitely work for mission rewards.
There are also cards that are structure deck only, like Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon and Vampire Genesis. Genesis was obviously gained from the dhampir mission, but Darkness Dragon could be something I can use as well. Blue-Eyes Ultimate is also something I could use for the fusion mission, as it didn't get printed until Gold Series in 2008. As well as Meteor Black Dragon, which is from Premium Collection Tin in 2012, but that would need Meteor Dragon and that thing is promo or 2011 set.
@nro_8 that is actually a curious thing, Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon requires Blue-Eyes Ultimate, but ultimate was released only half decade later.
having him getting Shining before Ultimate would be poetic, like, fiction copying real life poetic.
@Spearow It would be poetic, but at the same time it might steal the spotlight from ultimate dragon if Brian only summons it to go into shining.
But as a basic concept the fusion summon different monsters mission and ritual summon different monsters mission could work. Rewards would vary and Brian would get them every 5-10 summons. Like the first one at 5, second at 10 and then each subjacent one at 10s. First reward for fusion could be Meteor Black Dragon and Meteor Dragon. And for the ritual one the first reward could be Black Luster Soldier and the Black Luster Ritual, as those are only in a started deck.
@nro_8 both Meteor Black Dragon and Black Luster Soldier have evolutions, black luster soldier has a ton of different evolutions, black luster soldier has 8 different evolutions and meteor has his comet evolution.
Both are good choices, just try to never use the Dragon master knight fusion, that is the most lame card ever, its just the black luster riding Ultimate blue eyes, the most ridiculous fusion ever, its almost as pitiful as the gaia fusions, like, you guys arent fused, its just a dude riding a dragon!
@Spearow Or I can just have Brian ride Blue-Eyes Ultimate and call that Dragon Master Knight. Atem did it, so Brian can do it.
Honestly, the only good thing about Dragon Master Knight is that it can be summoned with BLS and a fusion substitute monster and that can be fun on super casual level.
Also Gaia Drake, the Universal Force can be fun backup plan to go into with Miracle Synchro Fusion, but I do agree that most Gaia fusions are just ass.
