[NEXT DAY]

“HAVE fun Milady”

Clara waved her hand as she sent off Elia who had just exited the Carriage and was now walking into the gates of the Academy. Elia ignored the maid due to her head being currently filled with various  thoughts, her run in with Morris yesterday was fruitful because now she doesn’t need to break her back trying to create a translator because one already exists and Morris will be bringing it to her later today when she’s done with school for the day.

She could probably make her own but that’ll be a hassle, it’s better to buy one, it turns out the reason  she hasn’t heard of such a device is because only certain nobles that are  required to go on Diplomatic missions to the neighboring Countries possess it, though it should be easy enough to acquire, she just needs to buy it from the mage tower which is on the south side of the capital.

Another thing on her mind was that Duke girl who was probably  prince Alphonse’s Fiancé, Elia needed to know what she has to do with the red haired woman in her home.

“Damn I need to know her name”

She whispered to herself, making a mental note to ask the woman her name later.

While  Elia was in her thoughts she could still hear the  in audible mumbles  from the people around her, it was mostly comments about her skin and hair and some compliments about her beauty but she paid no mind to those. She was quickly pulled out of her thoughts by a voice she recognized.

“HEY! SAXONWOLD!!”

With an eye roll and a sigh Elia turned around  and met eyes with the girl that was going to be a pain in the ass for probably a while.

“Hello Remelia, how are you this morning”

Choosing to be civil Elia gave a greeting to the Girl However Remelia had chosen violence today her confrontational attitude toward Elia won’t change any time soon.

“Huh? Don’t say my name as if we’re on first name basis or something, you will call me Benretti, got it paper sheet”

Elia wasn’t one for insults because she can hardly come up with a good burn even if it was staring her in the face, so whenever someone insults her she usually ignored it both here and her past life.

“Listen Remelia, it’s too early for this can you just leave”

“What scared of me now, where’s your attitude from a couple days ago or perhaps you realized your inferiority to me”

A crowd was beginning to form as the students who arrived were Intrigued by the situation and Elia was getting sick of it. She  never bothered with the whole Benretti  v Saxonwold feud and from her understanding neither did her dad, he only ever mentioned it like once during her history lessons so what the hell is up with this girl.

“Benretti,  if you want to settle this just say so I’ll oblige you”

Elia spoke, if she let’s the girl be she’s going to be a constant headache so it was best to humble her early on to save herself the trouble though it’s not guaranteed that Remelia will stop.

“Humph yeah oblige me, I’ll show  you what I’m made off”

Remelia began to take a stance readying herself but Elia sighed and shook her head, if Remelia thought they were going to fight in school she was an idiot, though there’s an arena for practice matches Elia didn’t want to embarrass the girl in front of a crowd.

Before Elia could speak she heard murmurs from the students surrounding them.

“are they going to fight”

“yeah by the look if it”

“Never seen a girl fight Before”

“Both of them are so beautiful why would they do that”

Various voices  expressed their thoughts however  while this was going on an Adult appeared.

“Alright, what’s going on here”

The voice was feminine but did not possess any sweetness or Any melodic sound in it, it was a simple normal voice of a woman though it was a little deep but that was hardly noticeable.

The  person who spoke was a tall black haired woman, her hair was tied into a ponytail and she had long sword strapped to the right side of her waist, she wore a black and red dress that hugged her waist and showed a great deal of cleavage, the top half of the dress was shaped like a corset while the bottom half was a red cloth that went down all the was to her knees, she wore black boots with red laces and the dress she wore was sleeve less but she had a black cloth on her right arm that went from  her bicep to her hand covering the palm and back leaving the fingers. The woman meandered through the crowd and reached the center where Elia and Remelia stood

Remelia  was the first to react as she quickly straighten her back and placed her hands straight down on the sides and did a bow

“Good morning teacher!”

With great vigor Remelia greeted the woman she was then followed by the other students who were confused but did what Remelia did leaving  Elia to be the only one not bowing but instead confused as to why everyone was bowing, there’s no rule saying you have to bow to teachers when greeting them

“Alright, Alright all of you stand straight”

The woman felt weird about the whole thing, her eyes swept around and saw that it was mostly the new students in the crowd. She could tell because all of them  wore the uniform worn by first years students so she realized that they  aren’t familiar with the rules and have no idea how to address a teacher.

“Now then, what’s going on here, look like you about to fight”

“Nah this was  simple disagreement”

Before Remelia could answer Elia spoke first and gave a simple answer. Elia felt that Remelia would complicate things if she let her speak first.

“Oh, is that right? So can you settle it with a duel then?”

“Yes, Ma’am a duel would be the best way to settle this”

Remelia answered with a great deal of vigor while doing a soldier’s salute, Elia thought it was strange and figured it Remelia must have a sort of relationship with the woman.

“fine, but may I know your name teacher?”

“ah yes, my Name is Scarlt Roselyn, I am the battle instructor for first years”

Elia’s eyes perked up once she heard the woman now named Scarlt  was a combat instructor, While Elia has trained her close combat skills to a degree and has successfully defeated all the knights back home, Even though that was the case she believed that the knights were only average in terms of fighting skill or rather none of them ever showed any type secret techniques or anything of the sort infact  when Elia was begining training with the knights she had fully expected all of them to know an attack that was similar to Flash step but she never witnessed such a thing as such she concluded that the knights were at least average.

“Miss Roselyn”

“Yes?”

“I’m curious, judging by what you said about duels I’m guessing they’re something common in the school?”

Elia asked while she placed her hand on her chin and staring on to Miss Roselyn’s Scarlett eyes, she’s not used to seeing a person with red eyes so she thought it might have been the sharingan though that was ridiculous.

“Yes they are, training match and duels are things that happen quite often, training matches are simple exercises to measure your growth while duels can be done for tests or to settle disagreements when there’s no clear side“

She answered, Roselyn felt the girl’s question  was going somewhere, trying to figure out something.

“is it possible to duel a teacher?”

A Smile crept on her Face as she heard Elia’s  question, the fact she asked that question means that she believes herself to be strong enough to actually fight a teacher, it was something she expected at least  one student asks that question, mostly it’s noble children who ask it.

“it’s possible for the third years but not for anyone below”

“Is it possible to duel someone for the Right to duel a teacher?”

“The rules aren’t clear on that but my guess is you’d have to duel a third year for that to happen or if you’re already a third year and are impatient because your duel is scheduled for next month you can ask fellow third year for their duel and switch.”

“what does the teacher gain or lose from the Duel?”

“nothing”

“I see”

“anyway moving back to the duel with you and the this girl Here, which class are you in?”

“Class A-1, but it’s fine the duel is off”

Before Roselyn could comment on the coincidence of Elia being in her class Remelia was the first to speak while wearing a very condescending smile on her face.

“OH Afraid are we? as expected from a cowardly Saxonwold”

She placed her hands on her waist and tilted her head backwards as if to look down on Elia, however Her comment was ignored as Roselyn Commented right after her with mild curiosity in her tone.

“OH So you’re Elia Saxonwold?”

Some of the students had begun to get bored and decided to leave and enter the hall or go somewhere else as it didn’t seem there was going to be a fight anymore and thus leaving  Roselyn and the two girls to talk.

“yes that’s me”

“I look forward to teaching you then, I heard your quite talented.”

“Hey don’t ignore me!!”

“Remelia how about this, I’ll give you about a month to train once one month is over you can challenge me to a duel the stakes can be whatever you want.”

Elia suggested, Remelia was about to offer a counter but then realized that it would be indeed beneficial to her if she took the suggestion mostly because of the part that she would be the one to set the stakes. There was also the fact that as much as Remelia loathed to admit it Elia was above her in skill, the Saxonwold had proved as much in examination, though Remelia was never going to act or show that she acknowledges Elia’s strength, never.

“Alright since I get to set the stakes, How about this if you lose you and your entire family both admit that that you’re family of traitor who doesn’t deserve the noble title they have and that you apologize to the Benretti family for you’re the deeds done by your ancestor”

‘Give them an inch and they take a mile’

“Very well, I don’t have any thing I want from you but, considering you come from a notable knight house how about if you lose you will give me a copy of all the fighting techniques of your house, your father is a captain of the Royal guard and is very trusted by his majesty as such he should have a technique or two”

Remelia paused before responding, if she loses all her families techniques will fall into the hands of her families hated enemy, not only would that be a humiliation but her father would look at her with contempt forever she would never be able to prove herself to him, infact losing to a Saxonwold was something her father would never tolerate, something she herself would not tolerate.

“no”

“Well I guess the duel is off”

Elia figured as much, humans are hypocrites after all, Remelia was willing to ask Elia to humiliate her own family but at the same time Remelia wasn’t willing to risk the chance of humiliating her own family, though there was no chance of Elia Losing so the stakes were meaningless to her.

“I’ll be taking my leave then”

Elis turned and left leaving Remelia with her head down, and  Roselyn  standing near there girl, Seeing the girls mood She placed her hand on her shoulder and spoke.

“To ask someone to give up their pride means that you are also willing to give up yours. Elia agreed to your terms so you were obligated to agree to hers, next time do not just act think as well”

Roselyn left the girl with that piece of advice, the  Conflict between the Saxonwold and Benretti wasn’t something that was very well known or anything people paid attention to because it’s a Conflict between two low ranking families so nobody cares much but Roselyn  as a teacher is required to learn about the families of various people to get a general understanding of where a student comes from though she takes it a little bit too far.

Remelia was left standing alone while a few students passed by their way to the hall, the Royal academy was structured in a way that in order to go from the gate to your classroom you have to pass through the hall. The were 3 buildings just on the other side each of them were connected to each other forming a sort of square with a line in the middle making one combined building, everything was within that building, classrooms and the cafeteria, rooms designed for  combat training and a few others.

Finally realizing that she must be looking weird for standing around  Remelia began to walk, there was going to be an assembly today for new students  held in the hall.

As she slowly walking she was deep in thought about what  Miss Roselyn had said. It wasn’t that she disagreed with the teacher it’s just that…

‘She’s a Saxonwold the least her family can do is apologize to my family that’s all’

Was her thought, she did not see Elia’s family apologizing to her family as anything but the wrong doer offering apologies to the wronged, it was only natural that they do that after all if it wasn’t for the Saxonwold ancestor the Benretti would be a noble family right now.

“it’s not fair”

In the ideal  world it would be her family enjoying the noble life while the Saxonwold  grovel at her feet, her distaste for them was very real.
