CHAPTER 13: The Black Vatican

ORIGINAL Author: Chaos

SPINOFF Author: Vester

_As long as he’s okay, then it’s fine!_

Ye Xinxia’s heart finally settled down.

“Xinxia, I have already dealt with those people. They won’t bother you anymore.” Mo Fan placed the wheelchair in front of Ye Xinxia.

“I just saw… I saw lightning. It seems to be the Basic spell of Lightning Element, Lightning Strike.” Ye Xinxia said.

As Mo Fan heard this, he began to feel a sense of pride. However, he smiled without saying a word. He used his proud eyes to look at Ye Xinxia.

Ye Xinxia felt something wasn’t right; she carefully thought about it before astonishment flashed in her eyes.

“The one activating Lightning Strike was Big Brother Mo Fan??”

Mo Fan didn’t admit to it; but he quickly connected the Star Orbit of Lightning Strike and released the spell.

“LIGHTNING STRIKE: PYTHON SCAR” Mo Fan released the Basic level 1 Spell of lightning element on a nearby boulder.

An huge lightning Arc extended from Mo Fan’s extended arm and slithered across the ground like a python with astonishing speed and exploded on the huge boulder.

The Rock was blasted apart and scattered across the surroundings the moment it impacted.

Ye Xinxia’s jaw dropped as the glow of lightning lit up her beautiful picturesque face.

She was dumbfounded with awe as she saw the man standing in front of her with a silly smile on his face.

She was struggling to recognise that he was the same guy who grew up with her.

“It really was you! Big Brother Mo Fan is a Mage??” Ye Xinxia said with a hint of disbelief.

“Haha, you are the first person to witness my true power!” Mo Fan said suddenly with a headstrong tone in before Ye Xinxia’s delicate and cute face.

Ye Xinxia didn’t anticipate this sneak attack; a red flush immediately filled her cheeks; it even reached down to her neck.

Only then did Mo Fan realize that he was being a bit too relaxed. He hastily began to explain, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I got a bit too excited.”

Ye Xinxia replied with a low voice, “Then…did you really become a Mage?”

Mo Fan nodded.

“Our teacher said only one out of a thousand can awaken Lightning element. The Basic level of Lightning Element holds a great advantage, so much that it can be said to be the best Basic ranked element.” In this moment, Ye Xinxia began to feel happy for Mo Fan.

Ye Xinxia was clear on the situation at home, even more so after she became a member of the family and gave Uncle Mo Jiaxing more unnecessary pressure. According to Auntie, Uncle Mo Jiaxing had already sold their house. It seems as if their poverty had reached a definite point.

Both her and Mo Fan were still young; it’s difficult for them to help Mo Jiaxing. What Mo Fan could do was study hard and become a genuine Mage; only then would they be able to relieve the current family crisis.

It seems like Big Brother Mo Fan was indeed amazing. He had unexpectedly learned Magic in such a short period of time.

_Eh?! Wait something’s not right!_

Suddenly, Ye Xinxia came to a realization. She looked at Mo Fan with her beautiful eyes which hinted that she wanted to say something.

Mo Fan replied in earnest, “What’s wrong?”

“It hasn’t even been half a year since you awakened. According to what is known, even people who have a high innate talent require nearly a year to completely cast the Basic level 1 Spell.” Ye Xinxia said as she stared at him with doubtful eyes.

Mo Fan was dumbstruck.

_No way, even people with a high innate talent need nearly a year’s worth of time to go from awakening to casting?_

_Then…me being able to completely master the Basic Level 1 spell of lightning element in just 5-6 months is indeed a bit too quick!_

The thing was, Mo Fan didn’t know anything about this.

That blockhead Mu Bai was already able to grasp four or five stars. From how he saw it, wasn’t it normal that he, himself, could already Master Level 1 Magic with the support of Little loach?

However, why did Ye Xinxia’s surprised face give off the feeling as if she was looking at a Monster?

Could it be that being able to learn the Basic Spell within half a year was an extremely abnormal thing in this world?

“The ‘Possess a high innate talent’ in ‘Even someone that possess high innate talent needs a year’, what kind of level does that speak of?” Mo Fan cautiously asked.

Mo Fan didn’t want to expose the fact that he knew almost nothing about this world.

“Mu Ningxue is considered the most talented person within our Bo City. Her talent even surpasses numerous genius-level students in the Empire; however, she needed only eight months to go from the awakening to learning and completely mastering the Ice Element’s Basic spell.” Ye Xinxia said.

“Eight…..eight months?” Mo Fan felt a bit stunned when he heard this.

What kind of existence was Mu Ningxue?

She was the only person who was directly recruited by the Empire Institution of Magic, The Number 1 Magic University in all of China in the entirety of Bo City. She’s also the most beloved person of the entire Mu Clan; she had received the entire Mu Clan’s inherited magic training methods. The kind of resources which a common Mage would never receive in their entire life.

The reason behind her being viewed as an important figure, as well as her astonishing Magic talent, was closely related to that!

Even an extremely arrogant person like her needed eight months to go from awakening to the Casting of Basic Magic. What about Mo Fan, who only needed 3 months to cast the spell after awakening and 3 more months to completely master the Star Orbit to the point where only 1 second was needed to cast magic.

Holy crap!!

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!

Mo Fan felt his heart viciously surging!

If Mu Ningxue shocked the world with eight months and was classified as a heavenly genius by the people, wouldn’t his own three months be completely heaven-defying?!?!

“Big Brother Mo Fan, you….did you learn something bad?….. I heard from an old scholar that this kind of cultivation speed is only possible with people from the Black Vatican,” Ye Xinxia whispered.

The Black Vatican was a terrorists organization in this world, which was run by the Red Cardinal Salan and six other Red Cardinals. They’re cultist people who are planning to destroy the world. Killing innocent people is just like breathing air for them. They’re wanted by all the organisation of this world.

The Black Vatican had some Demonic Magic Method that could substantially raise a Mage’s cultivation speed. Ye Xinxia really couldn’t think of any other way that could allow someone to complete Primary Magic in just a short five-six months, even though Ye Xinxia knew her Big Brother Mo Fan’s intelligence surpasses others….

“The Black Vatican? No way! Don’t compare me to those scums.” Mo Fan had read about them in newspapers, about an incident which happened at Mediterranean sea. Something about turning the sea into Blood.

He despised people like them, who slaughter innocent for fun.

“I’m sorry Brother Mo Fan! Please don’t be mad...” Ye Xinxia knew she had went too far with her assumptions and hurt him. Even she couldn’t imagine why she said their name out loud.

She quickly apologized and looked like a small animal with her head down as she saw the displeasure on his face.

“Sigh, I’m not mad at you, after all there’s no way I could be mad at you” Mo Fan said as he gently picked her up from the swing in his arms and placed her on the wheel chair. Mo Fan was indeed not mad at her, but he felt offended that his most precious person had compared him with those scums of the world.

“But then, how were you able to cast magic so fluently, within a second that too” Ye Xinxia sneakily glanced at Mo Fan’s face and noticing that he was truly not angry, she asked blinking her eyes innocently and curiously.

Mo Fan looked at her face full of anticipation, and decided to trick her.

“Well that’s because your Big Brother is from another world of course” Mo Fan said while patting her head.

“Ah, you mean that story of the world of science you were telling me before” Ye Xinxia immediately remembered that Mo Fan had bullshitted her before.

“Yup that’s right, your Big Brother was an unparalleled genius there! But this one time I met an Old man on the top of a mountain and we quickly became friends. He told me a lot stories about his adventures in a world of magic, of how he rode on the back of a Huge Azure Dragon with his 4 friends who were similarly on the back of their respective beast companions. The Turtle Master, The Kirin Master, The Fire Phoenix Master and The White Tiger Master! He was known as the Dragon Master And so on... As he was dying, he said that you have an aptitude of becoming the greatest mage on the planet, so I will send you to that world! And that’s how I arrived here 10 Months ago!!” Mo Fan explained with a smile.

As Ye Xinxia listened to his explanation, she became confused.

“Geez~ your treating me as a child again, hmph~ I don’t want to talk with you anymore” Ye Xinxia pouted her cheeks and turned her head away after she thought he was bullshitting her again.

Mo Fan laughed as he pushed her wheelchair. To be honest Mo Fan had not told her a single lie apart from the part where the old man sending him to this world. It was probably not the old man who teleported him but this Black Glossy pendant around his neck.

“But~~ if you treat me to an Ice-cream then I can think about it~” Noticing that Mo Fan had no intention of talking about it, she sensibly changed the topic.

As Mo Fan saw that Ye Xinxia no longer asked any questions, he finally sighed in relief.

_Shit, I really am a monster. It seems like I shouldn’t reveal too many things before I completely understand this world._

“Is it true, that it’s only those from The Black Vatican that can finish their cultivation in five-six months after awakening?” Mo Fan asked faintly.

“Hm? Well maybe not in 5 months but Yes!” Ye Xinxia nodded in sincerity.

Mo Fan felt cold sweat!

Being too amazing wasn’t a good thing. Originally, Mo Fan wanted to surprise Ye Xinxia with the fact that he also possessed the Fire Element, however, now it seemed like it would be better to not be reckless while he still hadn’t understood the circumstances.

_I should go back and consult more books first and fully understand the situation, just to have some warranty. If not, I’ll be branded as someone from the Black Vatican and then be dealt with!_
