Magera named the boy Lucas, meaning "Bringer of Light"

She named him that because although she never felt it before, him being in her life made everything brighter

She was also a mysterious Veela, and while some people who seeked her in the dark forest called her the Lady of the Forest, some also called her the Lady of Light!

And even though she raised him like her son, she also raised him like a lover

She had refused to teach him to call her "mother" or other such affectionate names, and instead taught him to call her by her name Magera

And while he was a toddler, she raised him purely on her breast milk, she also taught him that once he was able to, he had to "repay" her back with "his" milk!

She felt guilty perverting him like that, but as he grew up, he became more and more incredibly handsome, she could not resist him

Somehow, he was part incubus, part elf, part vampire, with all the most attractive parts of each imbued in him

And he wasn't a mere cambian (half incubus), half-elf or dhampir (half-vampire) either. He seemed to retain the best of each race, yet had none of their vulnerabilities

For example, he could walk easily in the sunlight without even the slightest feeling of pain. In fact, he enjoyed being in the sun, playing in the fields with Magera and bringing her flowers

He seemed to be a natural charmer, and perhaps it was his natural charm, she seemed to agree easily with everything he says, even though as a Veela, she was generally immune to such spells like charm

By the time he turned 12, and had grown to nearly the same height as her at 5 foot 10, she taught him the ways of sex!

At 12, his penis was already 6 inches and was still growing. She wondered how tall, and long, he would eventually grow to. 

Did she feel guilty making love to a teenager?

Perhaps she did, but she couldn't resist him. And perhaps her guilt of killing his parents also made her lenient to him and let him have his way with her

Instead of stopping the sex, she instead taught him the way she liked to be pleasured, and also gave him much pleasure in turn, letting him "feed" her his milk regularly

As a incubus, vampire, elf hybrid, he also seemed to have a natural affinity to magic

Some magics seemed innate to him, such as the ability to charm and absorb lifeforce

In fact, when he was a toddler, she had to teach him to stop absorbing lifeforce when he was breastfeeding, which affected even her eternal lifeforce! Later on, when they started having sex, on one of the occasions where he was really enjoying himself, she had to stop him absorbing her lifeforce again, giving him a firm scolding!

He also could innately control things telekinetically, something found in only the very rare high elves, like Aurora. But Magera didn't know that, and assumed all high elves could do so. 

She did however teach him her magic of the veela. Such were the ability to talk to and control animals, the weather and even plants

From his elven background and his mother's abilities, he was able to control nature and the weather easily, and the ability to talk to and control animals that he learned from Magera was also learned easily

She also taught him her fighting abilities and her use of weapons

Magera was the legendary warrior goddess of the nearby countries of Rendovir and Marcheline that appeared in their time of need and disappears when she was no longer needed. This was something she had done for a millennia and she was a legend

But over the years, even after meeting the warriors and heroes of both nations, there was noone as talented and proficient as Lucas!

Lucas was a bright and intelligent boy, and as Magera had told him to never call her his mother, he was naturally curious about it

He concluded early on that he was adopted, and Magera did admit that he never knew his parents, only that she found him and chose to raise him

But he always felt that something was missing in the story

He found it strange that he had strange abilities, such as the ability to absorb lifeforce. He also found it strange that he enjoyed eating raw meat, especially when freshly hunted with blood still covering the meat. 

As Magera educated him well, Lucas knew of the many different races, trying to determine his own. 

But he couldn't quite place his race. He didn't know how handsome he was, but knew that he was symmetrical when he looked in the mirror. The fact that he could see his reflection and could stand the sunlight, ruled him out of being a vampire

He also thought he was an incubus, but so far he hasn't sprouted batlike wings, a dragon like tail and claws. Instead he sprouted wings like Magera's, but unlike hers that were white, his was completely black! This ruled him out of being a incubus

He researched elves, but found that there was no way to tell as he was getting bulky and muscular, unlike an elf. Furthermore he had black hair, unlike elves who were all blonde. He wasn't a dark elf either as his skin was as white as Magera's

And his ears, while pointed, didn't look like those of an elf or half elf. There weren't like an incubus or vampire's ears either, which were also pointed but differently. It was like he was a combination of all of them, or weren't anything like them at all!

And he wasn't a veela either, even though he had pale white skin and had wings. There were no such thing as a veela with black wings, and there has never been a male veela in known history!

Magera always told him not to think too much about it. She would always love him and would someday tell him his origins. 

While Lucas was growing up, Magera had sent out birds in the sky and rodents on the ground to try to piece together any information of Lucas' parents

And indeed there was some news from the country of dark mages Klystopia, especially from the Vampire city of Ravania, formerly known as Evermourn  

It seemed that the vampires somehow revived a vampire grand elder named Kragul who battled the 8th circle mage Sevalle and defeated him, taking over the city

Sevalle was severely wounded, but somehow managed to escape by teleporting and was never heard from again. 

According to her creatures, during the invasion of the vampires, Sevalle's top gladiator, a black haired warrior that matched the description of Gladius escaped with his lover, a beautiful elf who was Sevalle's wife and escaped their captivity

Magera was sure the details were not exactly accurate. as they were third hand news, like the birds got the news from the rats in the city that got the news from perhaps horses in the stable. But at the very least, she got the gist of the story right

But she still did not tell Lucas anything, as she still did not have a good explanation as to why his parents died, after they successfully escaped

They continued living together, as Lucas continued growing and learning from Magera until he turned 16

"Magera... mom..." he said

"Don't call me that!" she snapped, before softening her face to a smile

"I.... I want to go to the Starrock Academy in Winterose" he suddenly said, after learning about the world from Magera's teaching and books

"W..what? Do you not want to learn from me anymore?" Magera asked

"No.. I love you. But I also want to see the world. That was the reason you left the forest 1200 years ago and became known as the Lady of the Forest" Lucas said

She looked at him, seeing the wanderlust in his eyes and knew she could not keep her here forever. She knew this day would someday come.

Besides, he had learned everything she could teach, and it was probably a good idea for him to learn from other people!

She took his hand and pulled him into the hut, closing the door.
