Well, as I have mentioned in the last chapter, I will be taking a break from MCIAW and focusing on a new story.
With that being said, unless I receive huge support flexing from my readers on Patreon, I won't be writing MCIAW for the foreseeable future, as I have barely earned 20$ for close to 8 months of work. Ok, less as I have taken plenty of breaks and naps to recharge my imagination.
At least that is my current thought process. Who knows things could change and I would come back sooner than expected, but as I already mentioned I will try to focus on the new story.
It will have shorter chapters, only around 3k+ so that I can dish out more chapters, instead of the pace at which I have been dishing out MCIAW.
Maybe it will work, maybe it will not. But I hope that more readers will follow the story so that the story jumps on the Rising Stars ranking.
If it does not, at least I have a fallback on a story that has gained a fellowship.
The new story is about a clone of the same guy as Jiao was in this story. But the main protagonist will be the Honey Badgers that I am trying to evolve. In the beginning, there will only be two MCs. Mir who binds to the Honey Badger species, and the Honey Badger, whose name will be revealed in chapter 4 of the story. But as the story progresses I want to add more.
Either way, this feels like I am getting a bit ahead of myself but I hope this works.

The link is for Royal Road as that is where I mainly operate, but I will post the story here once I have more chapters, so the story does not get lost with the updates and gains a larger following from the spammed-out chapters.

Ah sorry to see this go on indefinite hiatus.
Like I said in this post, I want to see how my writing has improved on a new story without the bias of the mistakes that this story has had in the early chapters.
It is those early chapters that hinder the readers the most.
Hmm, that and my grammar, consistency in writing, and marketing could be improved, so more people become aware of the story existing.
If I had enough Patrons I would gladly continue writing, I have enough major plot points for the story to last for at least 2 more books, just need the right motivation.
It suck that your taking a break from this.. Cuz it felt like this stories was just starting.... Tho I kinda hope you could balance writing both stories as to compare the different stories and learn different things?
I would have taken a break from the story even without a new story to focus on. The difference would be me stocking on some chapters on Patreon before posting to the public.
Maybe I will do it this time too, but it will depend on how HBA receives its welcome.
Is this Honey badger humanoid? Cuz didn't you mention earlier in this story that clone would seek a humanoid host if possible? And if not is it natural evolution? Or magic/power base evolution like dungeon monster's?
It will under ideal circumstances. This time the taxi service is different. It is rougher, I guess, and something happened to initiate a failsafe. At least that is how I imagine it in my mind.
If you read the prologue you will understand.
As for evolution, well... it is not totally decided. I am a chaos writer, stuff just pops to me as I write. There are no notes but the major plot points that I need to happen for the story to progress. The end result is a humanoid version of a Honey Badger. Somewhere between werewolf and human, I guess, with stages to display the progress from beast to tribalism to medieval to modern to futuristic.
Like I said that is the idea, as for pure evolution? Well, since powers are involved it will be quicker than without but I will implement time skips for proper evolution to progress.
