85D 17H 47M, Afternoon

The battle was hold in a rather stale situation. Albeit they were losing, atleast quiet slowly. Ever since the first death, everyone took a more cautious stance. Slightly shaken to what have occured, their morale lowered.

"#(@(:(((#+8£+£-!!!" Yet the anomalous sound the malformed anomalies create intimidates them so. The fighters slowly but surely kept their distance away.

*Swing* *Swooosh*

The air rippled, disrupting almost the speed of sound. The sword swung at the anomaly, only to irritate and distract the four per se.

"Tch...." Leight pulled the sword away from the monster. It's black blood spilling from the ground, only to regenerate a minute later. Which makes it looked like they did no damage at all.

The arm of the anomaly covered with the head of a hobgoblin in the front, dragon claws beneath it's eyes. Yet that isn't even the full picture of how they looked.

'What are these things....?' For someone who never encountered this type of monster, one would wonder how can such error exist. Maybe it was a mutation...? Or an experiment..?' They wouldn't know.

As no madman can replicate the entirety of this creature. As smart as they were.

"Ghhk!" A large swing of a mutated hand struck Leight, barely dodging it. With the ground rumbling in repercussion to the former.

"Tch!!!" He stroke again again, acting as a bait for the monsters once more. Waiting for Sharon to cast her spells again.

'Just how long does it take!??' Even though seconds has passed, it feels like an hour for Klover. Cautiously dodging their attacks with full adrenelaine pumping his mind.

Daggers were useless. Since he doesn't want the risk of being dead. The human faces carved in some anomalies body that's filled with despair.

One could assume that they have already eaten some of his kin. As the revelation dawned them the moment the human life ceased to exist, in the monster's belly.

The dark liquid splattered on it's already beaten body. It would've have felt pain, but for them. Things like doesn't exist, as long as their core is intact.

"#£('%&£&£!!" Their numbers are increasing. With the opposite rather decreasing. More and more malformed beings came with no notice.

"Oh....fuck off!!!" Klover said in frustration. The fear of being eaten has already started getting into his mind. But-

Seeing the othets worked harder just to fend them off....

He couldn't help but feel like he can do more than that. He bit his lip. Everything was slowly falling apart.

"Ahh!!! PLEASE HELP M-" It was to be expected right? Looking at the ones about to be eaten.

*Crack*

Their bones finally cracked, unable to resist the bite strength of the monster, as life was sucked out of their very soul. Ending their life in a worst miserable death.

"STAY AWAY!!!" A female voice was heard. It's tone that of a fear and confusion. This one however-

*Splaat*

Was squashed like clay in an instant, it's strength beyond on what almost every monster can achieve, to top with off with it's annoying regeneration. But atleast that can be handled with, albeit costs in a great struggle.

What was left of the girl was a squashed insides, splurting with blood. Spreading along in the grassy field, now recently turned red a few meters around it.

"...I really can't do this...." He grimly said, shaken to the core to what he recently just witnessed, another attack swung to the left. And the other preparing to bite him in the head with it's extremely wide mouth.

"Ghkkk!!!" He barely dodged it, and by that he was bleeding. His entire body shaking in fear, he forced himself. His left arm unusable for now, revealing an extremely deep cut. It's inside spilling out as an extreme pain dawned him.

He hyperventilated, his breathe ragged. His vision clogged as he barely cannot see. Sweat fell down on his eyes causing an irritatingly sting, he closed it.

A moment later, his weight became lighter. Like he was almost floating. Looking at the source he found Leight, distancing him away from those monsters.

"Now Sharon!!!" He shouted, his agility carrying him throughout the battlefield almost untouched. Looking at the girl tens of meters in front of him, he signaled it again.

'.....' However, although the boy was relieved that he was still alive and not dead. Made him doubt himself again.

He felt like shit, honestly. Always being supported in almosy all types of quest and even battles made him feel inferior to them. But, if he were to go alone, he would only make them worried sick.

He wasn't strong as them. Yet, and he knew that. So he took his time after learning a lesson. But, looking at it right now, he couldn't help but feel that he had to get stronger immediately.

'I'll make it up, my ass.' He mocked himself, stuck in his own world. As the fight went to shit, everyone was slowly retreating. But the others? They kept fighting, knowing that they would only get more casualties if they retreated.

But atleast they know how to kill them after Leight's announcement. But their hardwork bear little-to-no fruition. It was working, yes. But the mana required to just destroy the ribcage protecting their core is almost enough to drain a person out as it requires extreme brute force. Except that they to have an exceptionally large mana pool, and Sharon was almost one of those mages. Only waiting to recharge again, feeling useless while she watches the other two fighting for their lives.

She wondered, just how much time they were fighting right now. But she, no everyone here has lost track of time. Ildi and the others were separated, because of the sudden attack.

She believes that almost an hour has passed. Their quantity is enough to hold back those monsters. But they get tired. Resulting in the tables to slowly turn against them.

Her silver hair blocking here left vision. Due to sweat sticking out from her face. She casts the same spell again.

"....let's do this..." She closes her eyes. The world where only she and the mana surrounding her existed. Doubt began to surround her, worried at the fact that she'll miss the attack.

"Don't worry about making a mistake Sharon. We aren't perfect, work on it instead as to not repeat those mistakes ever again."

"But what if It'll costs a life?!!"

"...then make sure those things won't happen again. Maybe they are just fated to die. Even if it's one the most closest to you..." Her mother said. Her appearance remained a blur in her mind.

She doesn't remember her mother's face, nor her father. All she remembers is that, they exist.

"..." She focused herself, another hot dense blue ball appeared in her wand once more. Sparking of life, immune to the heat yet affect by it's density. She enlarges it.

*Sigh* She released a sigh. Preparing herself.

"25th Page of the Book of Magmeis. Fire [Uya Scuyti].

.

.

.

"....it hurts..." He groaned in pain. Whilst being carrued by Leight in the back. He hissed, looking at the potential fatal injury on his left arm.

The traces of black blood before were now gone. Finally merging with his own blood. In fear of being infected. His anxiety risens to high degrees, wondering what's gonna happen to him.

'I'm so fucked.' He thought. He smiled nervously, fearing of the consequences happening to him later on.

"You okay there Klover... You aren't looking so good. Leight questioned him out of worry.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Tis' just a scratch." He groaned in pain after that.

"....we'll regroup with Ildi later after this." He wasn't convinced. However, he played along. She looked at Sharon.

"Do it."

She nodded with his decision. The condensed blue ball of light with the size of her palm. Yet it's mass isn't to be underestimated, as the blue ball kept spinning.

And she finally released it. As if a burden was relieved from her entire body.

In the eyes of the others it may only look like a sudden brightness of blue light. Yet only a milisecond has passed, finally hitting the four monstrosities.

The gravity around the four experienced a sudden imbalance. It pulled them so suddenly that they didn't have enough time to react, it's mass continuously increasing while spinning. Shredding their entire body around the ball itself.

And finally-

*BOOM*

It exploded. With only a second it made contact to ground.

Their ribcage, temporarily exposed as their core beats. Leight took the chance as he can, the ground where the ball hit was still freshly burnt, it's dark mud along with traces of the blue flame proved that otherwise.

He ran towards them. Carefully avoiding the burnt marks. Reaching towards the now regenerating pool of black blood. He immediately stroke the core inside the ribcage with his sword.

"#£_(:((£&:" The moment he struck it, the monster let out an ear deafening roar. With it's final life extinguishing from the hands of the blonde knight.

"...tch...!" As if on instinct, the regeneration rate of the other temporarily dead monster began to hasten. The pool of blood screeching for it's dear life.

*Swoosh* Tinted with black blood, he hastened his progress. Sharon may need another recharge again, but he won't waste it this time. He won't let them die.

The black blood moved like worms wriggling through the bodies of their host. Only for it to remain futile.

*Crack*

Another one died. It's core almost in the proccess of coating their ribcage was struck with Leight's sword however with full force. Hence, breaking it. Passing through it's core itself.

Truth be told, he was nervous. In fear of them reviving and killing his loved ones again.

*Swish* He held his hands, holding his sword in an inverted way. Casting a strengthening spell with a small mutter.

"Basic [Strenghthening]!" With full force, along with the help of magic. He struck it, feeling it getting stuck with the ribcage. Forcefully consuming his sword as the dark blood tried to redirect the hilt of the weapon.

'I don't have time for this!!" He thought in frustration. Pushing it the sword even further just to hit it.

*Crack*

"I did it...!" The moment it's shell was shattered. It immediately pierced through it's core. Killing it permanently for good.

*Swoosh* The wind brushed up to him. Snapping him out of his victor as he immediately went for the final one.

That was almost in the final proccess of regenerating itself. It's ribcage now full coated, only it's face remained unchange.

'I'm too late...!' He cursed himself. Biting his lip in frustration, as he back away. Panting.

"...shit.." He doesn't know what to do now. Sharon's almost out of mana as she's still recovering. Klover is still severely injured, waiting for Ildi to fully recover it. With Sharon barely stopping the blood loss.

Maybe he'll bait it to another person? No, that sounds immoral.

Innerconflict arises, as his mind wonders on what and what not to do. He can't brute force his way in, but they will full regenerate in only a matter of ten or more seconds, to count with their thick skin.

"There is always a way to everything Leight. Whether through careful planning... or through sacrfice."

He shook his head, what can he do. His thoughts organizing themselves as the monster is seconds away to be fully recovered to it's original health.

"Basic [Imbue]

Wasting no time. He took a step forward, imbuing his weapon with more magic than what he originally could. The weapon shining in it's full glory, it's sharpness exceeded that of a plasma laser.

Then, a sudden discomfort was felt from his entire body. His eyes widened, he hasn't thought thst it could drain this much.

"¶∆$°¥°=¢[=" In a standoff, the two launched at each other. With intent to tear each others lives, ignoring the sounds of screaming, shields blasting of it's recoil. Everything...

...

"Ye who took this blade? Why?"

"It's to protect those people who are powerless to do anything!" Is he right? Maybe he was. Maybe he wasn't.

"Is that what truly want?" His father's stern voice pressured the little blonde boy. Doubting on what is right or wrong.

"Yeah... Of course I do!" As if on impulse, he finally said it. To be a hero, one must save others. Regardless of status and race.

"....really?" He touched his beard, pondering about something. Leight was nervous. Sweat poured down in his face, waiting for his father to talk.

"I guess that "hero thing" of yours doesn't really change huh?" Squinting his eyes, he asked one final question.

"Then do tell me.... If there is a time when a stranger is dying infront of you and on the other side, your loved one, with the same as condition as the former. Who will you choose?"

"...of-ofcourse I'll just save them both!" He stuttered. Doubts opened in his mind. Thinking what he will do if that situation happen.

"...you're stuttering. You're still a child, Leight. You haven't experienced how the world works yet."

"Isn't that because you almost wouldn't let me outside?"

"That's for a different matter however. What I'm doing is for your own good. There are bad people there that is in their way to get you."

"...what? Whay do you mean?" He asked his father to elaborate it further. Why are they after him?

"You're my son of course. Just one mistake can cause my entire plan to fall apart. Not that I see you as a tool, but also because you're my important treasure to us." Despite his stern voice, it came as loving and worry in Leight's ears.

"I'll say it once more...? If a stranger who is in dying in front of you, and at the same time the one you loved is also dying. Who will you choose Leight?

Everything is constantly changing, there's no concept of forever. It eventually dies off, or either forgotten by history. Nothing is forever, as the world is constantly changing.

"Who will you choose, Leight?"

...

The wind blew, it's lively gentle breeze that is so out of place in the bloody field. A few littered with human blood, it's flesh splattered almost everywhere. Almost one-fourth of the entire fighters died.

The others were still busy fighting, ignoring those who had fallen as if they couldn't grab a glance through their faces.

Distracting themselves from those monsters...

A light burst forth. So bright, that it forces those who try to sneak a glance on it. Would fry their eyes, metaphorically.

Despite that, two beings. Frozen in place, the being human and other is a being that shouldn't have existed.

Leight closed his eyes enduring the pain through his arms and legs. He coated himself with

Basic [Strengthening] reducing the overall pain tolerance and increasing endurance.

Yet
it still hurts. His blodd slightly dripping out of his mouth. Looking
at his blade, the monster stood there. Frozen in place, not moving. And
he knew what that means.

"I did it..." He concluded. He won.

And that's all that matters.....

Late
chapter again. Really don't know how to organize my schedule. Hope this
is good enough. Criticisms are welcome, I'll edit it later.
