Pluto and Thena were just getting out of their car, walking to the Stark Expo near their place. It was crowded to say the least, men and women rushed inside the pavilion, bringing their dates, holding hands.
“Ugh, I hate dressing up…” Thena murmured in dissatisfaction.
“I didn’t force you to dress up.” Pluto rolled his eyes. “Come on, you want to look around or not?”
“Fine, fine…”
The two then entered the pavilion, watching as many inventions that were made by Howard were displayed and showcased, he could see some inventions that weren’t made by him too, but it’s still cool nonetheless.
“Told you it’s worth it to invest in the kid.” stated Pluto casually as he walked through the pavilion, towards the center.
“Yeah, yeah, you were right, I was wrong…” Thena said lazily. “But this… expo… is this really necessary?”
“Trust me, our child will love to visit these kinds of things in the future.” Pluto hummed. The thought about walking through this expo with a small boy holding her hand makes Thena really happy for some reason.
The two then walked straight to the center, while they could see Howard presenting on a podium, again…
“Ladies and Gentleman, Mr. Howard Stark!” a female announcer exclaimed as Pluto and Thena gathered up front.
A group of sexy women then welcomed him on the podium, he bowed to everybody with his usual smile.
He then suddenly kissed one of the women on the podium, making the others cheer.
Thena rolled her eyes. “This is why I hate him.”
Pluto chuckled as he heard Thena said that. Howard separated from the woman as he wiped the lipstick from his face. As soon as he turned to the audience, he saw Thena with an unamused face, and gulped.
He coughed to focus himself, and spoke. “Ladies and Gentleman… What if I told you in just a few short years, your automobile won’t even have to touch the ground at all?”
Pluto could hear some of the gasps around him, and sighed. He continued to explain about the car beside him, and the assistants quickly took off the wheels of the car. He then turned the car on, it floated for a few seconds, but it dropped to the ground as it broke. He then joked about that he told them that it was still a couple of years, hiding the embarrassment in his face.
The masses then soon scattered, and Howard walked to Pluto to greet her.
“Hello William, ma’am…” he said to the two.
“Nice place you got here Howard.” Pluto hummed.
“Yeah, I was thinking it would be good if I do this yearly, you know? Keep the public entertained while also educating them.”
“That’s a good idea.” Thena hummed. “But Howard, you should drop some of your habits, it’s getting annoying seeing you getting touchy with women…”
“What’s wrong with that?” Pluto stated, earning an elbow from Thena.
“You should find someone Howard.” Thena continued, speaking like a mother.
“I’m focusing on my job right now, Ma’am…” he said awkwardly.
“Then find someone from your job.” Thena shrugged. “That Agent from London, she’s quite a good match for you…”
“Okay…” Pluto chuckled as it’s getting more and more awkward. “It’s his business, not yours.”
“I’m just suggesting…”
“Err… Well, Ma’am, we are having an auction for antique things down the street.” Howard suddenly turned the topic around.
Thena raised her brow. “What kind of antique things?”
“Medieval relics, swords, things like that.” said Howard. “I heard you like collecting things, I thought I should let you know.”
“Hm… Intriguing…” Thena murmured as she turned to Pluto. “What do you say?”
“You go on by yourself, or Howard, accompany her if you can….” Pluto answered as his gaze trailed towards a specific skinny man walking away from the podium. “I have spotted something interesting…”
Thena tried to see who it was, but she shrugged. “Very well, Howard?”
“My Pleasure, Ma’am.”
The two walked towards the auction, while Pluto went in the opposite direction, to the US armed service Recruitment building.
Captain America probably. I like how things are starting to pick up again. For a while everything stagnated from the 1600s to 1900s. I wish there was more focus on the eastern part of the world. Everything east of India was pretty much ignored in favor of way too much focus on Africa. The ape war lost my interest quick as it had very little connection to the mc. Overall Pluto hasn't done anything for over 500 years in improving his power though he needed a break. I'm assuming he is waiting to absorb the celestial so he is just solidifying his network instead but I would like to see some progress on the power front instead of talking about them having a child which would be stupid to have until they are free of the celestial.
You just made me realise a plot hole in the story. Pluto can only absorb the dead, but the Infinity Stones are alive, so how was he able to absorb them?
Also, it makes sense that he wasn’t able to get stronger because 1) there are no more Deviants to absorb, and 2) absorbing anything non-deviant isn’t useful, and the ones that are good (like the ice giants) are hard to find and a pain to keep since they’re constantly making noise in Pluto’s head.
@Montizuma59 well the stones are basically purified cosmic energy seperated into the different aspects of the universe. And pluto absorbs cosmic energy. So the stones are kinda like the eternals, alive, but not organic
@CaptainYumYum12 Deviants are also alive but not organic, and they still need to be killed before they are absorbed.
@Montizuma59 Im late but do they i mean he absorbed cosmic energy from them while alive from fluffys stare or that one constructs bite just didnt transform them till they were dead
Yeah, China was totally ignored. India just barely mentioned, and for what? Wedding? It is understandable that the story is western oriented. But there were hundreds of untapped good plot points in middle east and far east. I mean, put aside the Muslim world during their enlightenment age, the man totally ignored Solomon! China and India alone were half of the total human population.
