'Analyzing' Myself I understand what has been happening to me. First of all, why is the important stuff at the bottom? Anyway, The noise I have been hearing is Point List and I got those points on 'Loan' from the 'Escape!' 'Quest'. Using these points I made 'Purchases' from 'Point List' granting me skills. I'm not meant to get them from thinking like I did but I guess it was because I didn't know.

Apparently I can open a list and pick something to add to myself to power up.

'Universal Translation Index' is something that translates any form of intelligible language and inserts any of the needed information to my head.

'Stealth' is a skill that masks any signs of yourself, including sound, smell, presence, magic power and more importantly sight. That's how I hid from the bad people.

'Lock Picking' is a skill that basically teaches you how to open or identify anything with a lock on it, including Magic Locks at higher levels.

'Intuition' is something that is somewhere between instinct, telling the future and helping bring your real feelings to light. It doesn't have a proper explanation

'Analyze' is the telling box I have been using. It's a skill that basically sends magic to scan the information imprinted on an object by magic. Apparently anything in this world that has been seen by any being automatically gives it a name and any other information and the magic around it keeps that information and averages it out.

'Assassinate' is a skill that gives extra damage to attacks if the person receiving the attack doesn't perceive you in any way.

'Physical Strength' is a skill that makes you stronger and helps with building your real strength to the added levels.

Nothing at all is known for 'Quest' and 'Point List' from Analyze but I'll figure that out later. The man has stopped and is looking at me.

"Yui… I think." "You think huh? Well my name's Margo and the shop we are going to is owned by me and my wife Sasha. Please be nice to her." He said the last part looking at the knife.

"Ok... Thank you… for the help… Margo…" I hide the knife behind my back.

As we are walking I think 'Point List' and a box that looks like Analyze opens and shows me a list of Skills.

<Point List     16

  -

  Swordsmanship 1 Point

  Spearmanship 1 Point

  Archery 1 Point

  Dagger Arts 1 Point

  Blunt Weapon Arts 1 Point

  Throwing Arts 1 Point

  Fire Magic 5 Points

  Water Magic 5 Points

  Wind Magic 5 Points

  …   >

The list is filled with fighting skills but as I scroll down and look, there are thousands. A lot of them look really cool, while others look entirely pointless. Some are cheap and some are insanely expensive. I can tell that ones that are easy to learn without a Point List are cheap while things that aren't are priced by how hard they are to get. There are even some free ones but they seem dodgy so I leave them alone.

Next I think Quest and another window pops up and shows…

<Quest

  -

Quest Log / Available Quests / Notes

  -

  Escape! (Completed)

Escape from the prison binding you from freedom.>

Notes is empty but I see something interesting when looking at the Available Quests part.

<Quest

  -

Find out who you really are. (Available)

Recommended you are extremely strong before activating this quest.

Well that's scary. I wanna who I am but how do I know when I am strong? Do I max out Physical Strength skill? When I gaze at the Quest I feel a tugging in my head away from the Quest, I think that it's the Intuition skill since I always feel it at crucial times. I guess I'll wait until my Intuition tells me to take the quest, until then forget about it. It's gonna drive me crazy if I think about it all the time.

"Yui. We're here." Margo snaps me out of my unintended daze "Welcome to Marvo's Marvelous Goods."

I nod and open the door which rings a bell. I wander in while giving the Analyze skill a workout. Analyzing everything in the store gives me a general idea of how people live their lives. I think a lot of the stuff is unnecessary but it seems it's all needed. The prices displayed are all just a little higher than the price on Analyze.

"Welcome to… Oh honey. Your back. And you have a girl with you." A woman who has long brown hair and is wearing an apron greets me then looks at Marvo with a complicated face.

"Dear, please don't give me that face. This girl was a little lost and in need of some necessities. As this has nothing to do with me I shall hand the case over to you dear wife. Please look after Yui while I put away what I received while out." Marvo tells her the situation and disappears towards the back of the building.

"Yui was it? What is it that you need?" I take a quick look around.

"I think… it's… everything?"

"Everything? Well…"

"I don't have... anything except… Rans… and clothes…"

"I'm starting to see why my husband brought you here. Well. It's going to cost a lot. Do you have enough?" I put the knife away since I don't think anything bad will happen and pull out the same coin that I showed Marvo earlier. "Oh. It looks like it is the full work up for you then."

I followed the lady around the shop for a while but it seemed I was unnecessary and she was having too much fun so I sat near the counter and browsed the Point List for a while until she was done. I don't have many points left over so I was looking for a way to earn more or get skills from elsewhere and I came across a few interesting ones.

Monster Assimilation - 10 Points - Steal skills owned by monsters after dealing the killing blow

Floater - 5 Points - Grants the ability to easily swap between jobs with only having the base requirements

Creation Magic - 20 Points - Magic that lets you create anything you can come up with as long as you have the knowledge and Mana requirements

Point List 2 - 5000 Points - A higher tier Point List with more options

I learned during this endeavor that I can Analyze even the window I am looking at and it can give an explanation of whatever I Analyze. After Analyzing my 'Job' after being curious about the Floater skill I learnt that 'Assassin' is a hated job only for evil people who kill good people, killing at least two people and receiving money lets you acquire the job. I personally think stealing off bad guys is fine but I don't want to look like a bad guy so I took the Floater skill

<Floater Skill bought, 5 Points spent, 11 Points remaining>

Taking a quick look at my jobs I see I don't have many options.

Thief, Assassin, Prisoner, Bandit, Scout and Unemployed. Everything is either hunted down or frowned upon. Scouts are tolerable but they have a bad wrap at the moment. I don't have any choice but to take Unemployed. Apparently Unemployed is frowned upon after the age of 11.

"I have finished with your necessities but what is your job Miss Yui. I can add a few things you will need."

Great. Right when I realize I only have Evil Jobs right now. The only thing that I know is Merchant that Margo and his wife have, anything other than that is Evil… wait. The bad guys said Adventurers were hunting them down.

"Adventurer…"

"Ahh that would make sense. We stock some monster repellant and a few other things. I'm afraid the sheaths we have aren't made for your particular dagger type but I'll recommend you to a friend who is a Weapons Merchant." She rushes off to gather the other things leaving a pile on the counter.

I don't know what Adventurers do but I guess I'm gonna have to find out. There aren't any skills related to it in the Point List so I hope it's not more bad people. After a little more time she came back with a basket full of things.

"Alright. I got everything you need. It should all in all amount to 1 Gold Coin." I pull my dagger out of the bag and point it at her.

"Liar…"

"Eh. Eh. Ummmm. Please don't…''Honey it's enough. I can tell she isn't stupid. She may be new around here but she can tell all of that is worth around a Small Gold Coin at the most." Marvo walks in from the back like he was there the whole time. I turn my dagger to him.

"Please Miss Yui lower the weapon. It seems you are new to big towns in general. I'll let you in on a little secret, a Merchant is a creature who looks for profit in anything. One of the biggest mistakes you can make in business is telling what your budget is upfront. Dear. Did you not notice Yui scanned the store and all of its prices the minute she came into the store and while she was walking around, She also took the time to calculate while waiting for you to collect the items."

"Very astute of you, dear husband. I took her for a bumpkin the second you brought her in here. But it seems you brought an intelligent bumpkin."

"Excuse my wife, she can be a little harsh once her motives are revealed. It's one of the reasons I love her." Marvo smiles with his whole face. I am confused as to if she is a bad guy or not. "I'll take it from here honey. Can you finish my work out back?" She quietly walks to the back stopping for a kiss on the check with Marvo.

"Now Yui. As an apology for my wife's behavior let me give you some advice since you are new here. Never trust anyone. Don't tell people your Status, Don't tell people where you are staying and even more so don't trust the people closest to you. Try and stay in the shadows. This can be said to the world to some extent but this town right now... It's in a state of chaos. You're lucky I am the one who found you today or you could have ended up somewhere worse. Are you already an Adventurer?"

"N-no…" A little overwhelmed by the serious barrage from Marvo I answer honestly.

"Then register right after going to the weapons store. They can protect you there. I also managed to dig out something of mine I was going to get rid of. You may not realize but that Magic Bag you are carrying is VERY expensive and just carrying it will get people targeting you. However I have this degraded Magic Bag that at the moment can hold only a little more than the bag itself. Put your bag in this bag and have someone sew them together."

"Yes… Thank you... Marvo."

"Don't be. I'm still gonna charge you that gold coin. For the supplies, the bag AND the advice." He hands me something with directions on it.

"Thank you…" I pack all the supplies into my bag, put my bag in his bag and leave a Gold Coin on the table. I ran out of his shop activating Stealth and ran behind an adjacent building.
