Hunting

<Kill the Lord! QUEST COMPLETE! Congratulations! Reward granted!>

<Assassination upgraded to Level 5>

‘Where the hell did all those people come from?’

I just left the building, took off my disguise shirts and was about to jump over the fence when I noticed the entire area was surrounded by people wearing armor. They seem to be knights, not that I know what that means since I didn't Analyze further because Intuition was telling me that there was no way to escape them. The only place I could think to hide was on the roof of the lords building. I didn't see anyone with wings so I think it's the best place to hide. Eventually they broke the circle and I could sneak out. It's getting dark now and I want to do some quests before the old man gets to the reference room tomorrow so I go straight back to the Inn, have food then go to sleep.

I wake up when the alarm goes off. I got a better sleep than last night. For some reason my body shakes and my insides speed up when I'm in a room alone but I figured out last night that if I just keep my Status open, Analyze everything and focus on my skills it keeps me normal and I can have a proper sleep. I quickly get up and get some food downstairs.

I head to the Adventurers guild and check out all of the Requests that match with my Quest. The guild seems empty for some reason. It's before the first bell so it's quieter than when I came after the first bell last time. There doesn't seem to be any recommended quests for some reason but I am scared of not having any Points. Every time something has happened Points save me so I should probably take the 2 green quests that give me Points. I really want new skills but I'll focus on gaining skills once I refill my stock of Points.

<Goblin Hunt - Easy

  20 Rans per Goblin

Goblins are a general menace! Get rid of them!

  (1 Point for 5)>

<Kobold Hunt - Easy

  25 Rans per Kobold

Evil Kobolds have been spotted around the hills. Kill any you can find!

  (1 Point for 5)>

Hmmm. It seems to have changed slightly but it's fine, seems like a way to get more points.

The request itself says I don't need to accept the quest just makes sure to confirm my recorded kills beforehand. That's right!! The guild card records kills it might have recorded the lord, wait… he didn't have a bad guy job so will it record?

<Kills

>

Hmmm. Does that mean I'm a bad guy now? For some reason I have some bad guy job although from what the staff told me my record is clean…

My head is hurting from all the thinking so I'll just ignore it until I can ask the reference room old man. In one of the books I read yesterday it said Goblins can be everywhere but it didn't say anything about Kobolds. The quest said hills but I don't know what those are so I'll just ask the receptionist. It's a female who I haven't seen yet. She looks quite nice compared to all the other females I have seen before, although her brown hair is cool.

“Excuse me.”

“Yes. what can I help you with this early?”

“The Kobold Quests says the Kobolds have been seen near the hills but where are they?”

“Ummmm… Well… Do you mean which hills?”

“??? Yes?”

“Well it seems to be all of the hills nearby but it might be best for you to go East.”

“Ok” Well she wasn't very helpful.

I leave the guild with Stealth on and follow one of the big roads. In one of the books I read at the guild it said that adventurers navigate by using the North South East West and they can tell it by how the sun looks. It didn't tell me any information on how to actually do it though. Kind of like it is implied. There seems to be a big gap in knowledge that I should know, I can see it if I ever have a conversation that's longer than usual. I should try to keep my conversations brief. I have gotten better at talking so it kinda sucks but I keep getting this feeling that I shouldn't get close to anyone or let anyone figure out my circumstances.

While I'm thinking about things I reach the gate and Analyze it. While it gives me some shitty information it seems I lucked out and found the East exit. Apparently we can just leave the town freely so I do and start to head down the road. From what I understand Goblins can be anywhere so I don't really have to look for them while the Kobolds seem to be at these hills and there are hills surrounding the city. I guess I'll just do what I can and keep walking the road while using Analyze.

After way too fucking long I finally found what I was looking for, several things I was looking for.

A hill and Kobold footprints. I follow the footprints through the forest while using Analyze on everything I can see… It's way too much. I'm getting information overload and having to stop every few seconds because I find something that I should pick up either because it has to do with Alchemy, I'll have some use for it later or It will sell well to the guild and make them like me. Luckily if Analyze says it should be collected for some reason it tells me a way to do it with minimal harm to the product.

There are just so many new things going on and eventually without notice I have stopped focusing on Presence Detection, I know that because I see what looks like a hairy short person poking around at a bush near me. I panic and back away while using Analyze on him.

<Kobold

  Kobold

  Level 5

  S - 5

  D - 8

  E - 5

  M - 2>

It seems that I only need to get the claws. I calm myself and focus on presence detection. Damn. I can sense at least 2 others. I need 5 for the Quest and request so I quickly walk up behind the kobold and pull out my knife… Huh? For some reason I'm getting a sense that I should stab him here, not here, here, not here. I focus on one of the here parts and stab with all my strength. I accidentally lifted him off the ground. He goes instantly limp and it seems I killed him but maybe unlike humans I don't need to put all my strength in it. I should focus on all my skills when lining up my next attack so I can better understand.

It's been a while now and I have finally found a Goblin. It seems like it's talking to the Kobold but they don't really have a language more like gestures and noises. I only know this since my Universal Translation Index tried to understand what they were saying but it was a little too primitive.

I only need one more Kobold to finish the Quest and I can track where the Goblin came from so this is good timing. It'll be the first time I try to take on more than one opponent but I will have to practice with the weakling before it happens with humans or more dangerous monsters.

I haven't killed a goblin before, I barely understand it so I figure I should kill it with Stealth then try to fight the kobold. Since I'm gonna be fighting this time I decided to take out my katana and strap it to my back. I sneak up behind the goblin and stab him where I'm led then pull the katana, the katana flies out of the sheath with speed I wasn't expecting, I'm still barely holding and my Swordsmanship skill is barely reacting. I manage to step forward enough that the kobold is in range and it slices straight through the kobold whose lower half slumps to the ground and the upper half panics until it hits the ground and goes limp. Woah, that was cool. The katana even kinda left a trail in the air.
