“What Vegeta is a Super Saiyan too, Damn it, now I’ve fallen behind.” Raditz said looking at Vegeta

“How is Vegeta a Super Saiyan I thought you had to be pure of heart to transform.” Krillin said looking at Vegeta in surprise

“No… there is more than one way to become a Super Saiyan.” Vegeta said with a smile as he looked at his closed fist before he looked up at the old android, “It’s time to take care of you old man.”

The old android looked at Vegeta in worry, before it flew off, “Damn, it don’t run you coward!” Vegeta shouted as he flew off after the android.

“Come on guys he’s going to need our help finding the android in those mountains especially since we can’t sense their energy.” Piccolo said

“Do we have to help Vegeta?” Raditz asked looking at Piccolo with a smile.

“I don’t like it either, but we need to, so let’s split up and help him find the android. Once you do call it out don’t try and fight him on you own.” Piccolo said

“You got it Piccolo.” Krillin said

“Alright let’s go.” Piccolo said as they all took off flying after Vegeta.

Gohan and the others reached where Vegeta was as Vegeta flew into the air and fired a massive ki blast to the ground, where the old android ran forward and absorbed the blast, “Thanks for the energy, you fool.” The android said before he started running away deeper into the mountains, as Vegeta chased after him.

Gohan and the others split up and started looking for the old android in the mountains, Gohan was on top of a cliff and looking around carefully for the android. “Where is he, he has to be around here somewhere.” Gohan said to himself while moving around slowly looking for the android.

Gohan flew to another location, looking for the android, as he was flying, “Gohan… I need your help come quickly the android has me.” Piccolo communicated with Gohan telepathically

“Where is Piccolo… there a power level is dropping.” Gohan said to himself as he flew quickly to where Piccolo was, once Gohan arrived, he saw the android had grabbed Piccolo from behind as he had his arms wrapped around him.

Gohan quickly attacked the android from behind causing him to let go of Piccolo as he was sent crashing into the ground below, “… thanks… Gohan.” Piccolo said panting

The android started flying upwards looking at Gohan and Piccolo, Gohan transformed into a Super Saiyan again as he stood in front of Piccolo, “Don’t worry Piccolo I got this.” Gohan said as Vegeta soon appeared behind the android.

Then Krillin, Tien and Raditz appeared right after trapping the android in the middle of them, “Looks like the whole gang is here, doesn’t matter I have absorbed enough energy to kill everyone of you.” The android said

“Not likely you bucket of bolts.” Vegeta said

“Krillin… Piccolo needs a senzu bean.” Gohan said

“Right… here you go.” Krillin said as he tossed a senzu bean to Piccolo who caught it and ate it recovering his strength.

“Let’s start this I hope to have my fun this time, I hope you don’t run away this time.” Vegeta said looking at the android

Piccolo then flew down to where the android was before he took off his cape and turban, “Stay out of this Vegeta he’s mine.” Piccolo said looking at Vegeta, “If he manages to get past me then he’s all yours.”

“… I don’t care, just don’t let him steal anymore energy.” Vegeta said looking at Piccolo with a smile

“Gohan don’t worry about me I got this.” Piccolo said

“Understood, Piccolo.” Gohan said looking down at Piccolo

Piccolo disappeared and then kneed the android in the chin sending him flying past Vegeta as he crashed into a mountain nearby. The android climbed out of the mountain staring at Piccolo, as he flew back up slowly towards Piccolo.

The android charged towards Piccolo trying to grab him again, but Piccolo vanished as the android looked around for him, the android looked at Vegeta who nodded his head up. Where Piccolo then appeared and elbowed the android in the head sending him crashing into the ground below.

The android got up and looked up at Piccolo before he charged towards Piccolo again only for Piccolo to dodge the attack. Then kick the android in the stomach and then chop him in the back of the neck sending him crashing into a mountain as it toppled on top of the android.

“Wow… Piccolo has really improved.” Tien said looking at Piccolo in surprise.

“Well, what did you expect he trained with us for three years.” Raditz said smiling

“Yeah, he must be as strong as a Super Saiyan now.” Krillin said

“Yeah, right.” Vegeta smirked.

The android climbed out of the rubble, looking at up at the group in anger, before he flew up to attack Piccolo.

The android tried to punch Piccolo, but they were blocked by Piccolo using his forearms, as Piccolo countered with a punch to the stomach, then he attacked from behind sending the android crashing into two mountains.

The smoke caused by the mountains crashing was used by the android to try and grab Piccolo, but it wasn’t effective, as Piccolo grabbed the android arm, Piccolo then cut the androids arm off before he crushed it.

“That’s awesome history has changed.” Tien said with a smile.

“Looks like we’re making it through this without losing anyone… what a relief.” Krillin said with a sigh

Piccolo then chopped the android and sending him towards a mountain, as the android tried to run away only for Piccolo to stopped him, by firing an energy blast at him. The android barely managed to escape the attack as he climbed out of a crevice, he threw himself into.

“My data tells me that their abilities couldn’t have improved this much.” The android said as he struggled to stand up

“Your data, would have been accurate if we weren’t warned about you guys three years ago, so we prepared for your arrival.” Piccolo said with a smile

“So Piccolo, are you going to finish him or am I going to have to.” Vegeta said

“No… I got this.” Piccolo said looking down at the android.

Gohan and the others felt some rapidly approaching them, “Trunks is back.” Piccolo said as Trunks appeared near them and stared down at the android.

“He’s different than the ones I’ve seen as well.” Trunks said looking at the android

“What do you mean, he’s different than the ones you’ve seen.” Vegeta said,

“He is not one of the androids that I know about.” Trunks said looking down at the android worried.

“If he’s not one of the androids you warned us about then who is he?” Vegeta asked angrily

“Cut him some slack Vegeta so what if they look different, we found two androids right where he told us so maybe they changed.” Krillin said

Gohan heard a sound and turned around and saw Bulma and Yajirobe flying towards them in a car, “Oh no what’s she doing here!” Trunks shouted

“Enjoy this brief victory, because soon I will release androids 17 & 18 to destroy you all!” the old android shouted before firing multiple ki blasts towards Bulma’s car.

The explosions from the blasts blinded the group, as smoke rose from where the blasts hit, blocking their sight.

“Damn it, he’s gone the android disappeared!” Vegeta shouted as he looked down as the smoke cleared and he saw that the android was no longer there.

Trunks had saved Bulma and his past self, before he flew up to block Vegeta, “Why, didn’t you try and save Bulma and your son Vegeta?” Trunks asked as he blocked his path

“I have better things to worry about besides that woman and child, now get out of my way.” Vegeta said as he flew away from Trunks looking for the android.

Gohan and Krillin were standing next to Bulma as she was trying to calm down baby Trunks who was crying, “Guys that old man was Dr. Gero, I’ve seen his picture before in one of my dad’s science journal.” Bulma said

“Hey guys you might want to come down here and listen to this.” Krillin shouted

The group flew down as, Bulma explained to them about Dr. Gero, “How can you possibly know that women!” Vegeta shouted

“I’m a scientist Vegeta we know other scientists!” Bulma said looking at Vegeta as she seemed to be getting angry.

“The timeline must have changed when I traveled back.” Trunks said looking worried

“Dr. Gero mentioned two more androids back before he left, those might be the ones you warned us about before. How about this time you tell us what they look like so that we don’t make the same mistake again.” Piccolo said  

“Right… Android 18 is designed to look like a beautiful girl and Android 17 is a boy who wears a red scarf with long dark hair.” Trunks said

“Do these two absorb energy like these other two?” Piccolo asked

“No, their energy lasts forever, that’s one of the reasons why I haven’t been able to defeat them. They don’t get tried like I do.” Trunks said as he looked down at the ground, “Where’s Goku?”

“He came down with the heart virus, so he went home to take the antidote that you gave him.” Krillin said

“History has changed so much, it’s hard to believe.” Trunks said looking at them,

“Are there any good changes to history?” Raditz asked

“Yeah, there’s the major one of Goku still being alive, as well as you guys, and also Gohan unlocking Super Saiyan so soon.” Trunks said looking at Gohan, “Other than that I don’t know yet.”

“Enough about the changes to history, Bulma do you know where Dr. Gero’s lab is?” Vegeta asked

“Yeah, I believe it’s hidden in cave outside north city.” Bulma said

“Good time for round two.” Vegeta said as he flew off

“Dad... wait!” Trunks shouted as he flew off after Vegeta.

“Wait… dad?” Bulma asked

“Yeah… that kid is who your baby grows up to be.” Piccolo said

“Wow, he grows up to be such a handsome boy.” Bulma said holding up baby Trunks smiling.

“I think it’s time for us to look for Dr. Gero’s lab, before he reaches his lab.” Raditz said

“Gohan take Bulma home ok.” Piccolo said looking at Gohan

“Piccolo I can help, I’m a Super Saiyan now, I won’t hold you back.” Gohan said looking at Piccolo

“I know you won’t Gohan, but if things go south, I will feel better knowing that you’re safe ok.” Piccolo said as he walked up to Gohan and placed his hand on his shoulder.

“Gohan, please listen to Piccolo, like he said if things do go south, I will feel a lot better too if you look after Ginnie for me ok.” Raditz said

“… Fine but you two better be careful.” Gohan said as he turned back to his base form and watched as Piccolo, Raditz, Tein and Krillin flew off, after Vegeta and Trunks.

Before Gohan could take Bulma, and baby Trunks back, Yajirobe appeared climbing up a mountain, “I need a lift too Gohan.”

“… Fine, lets go.” Gohan said as he carried Bulma in his arms, as she carried baby Trunks in her arms and placed Yajirobe on his back before flying off towards Bulma’s house.

(AN: I ended up getting the flu, so I stayed home all week and wrote most of the time, this chapter marks the end of Volume 5, since after this Gohan doesn’t really do much until he and Trunks go and investigate the time machine. While it does make more sense for Gohan to go with the others since he now has Super Saiyan, we know that Piccolo and Raditz are always looking out for Gohan so they would want him out of harm’s way in case something goes wrong. This is truer since Gohan still doesn’t have full control over Super Saiyan like Vegeta and Future Trunks, so it’s better for him to take Bulma home and go check on his dad.)
