"Yes sir, I completed- No there were no loose ends. Of course, I'll make sure to-"

*Ding Dong*

Arin wondered who it could be at his door, when his eyes subconsciously looked to the clock and saw that the time was exactly 12:00pm. He bit his lip at first but still ran to the door and opened it; panting like he had just run a hundred meter race in the span of a few seconds. He'd actually just finished a hectic morning exercise a few minutes ago so naturally, the the run was far more tiring than it should have been.

Upon opening the door, he didn't see anyone; only a wrapped box on the ground that had the words 'Happy birthday' written in cursive on it. Looking left and right to make sure he didn't miss anybody, he slowly bent down and picked up the package before looking around again in curiosity.

"Aren't I supposed to sign somewhere or something?" he scrutinised the box again as his suspicion of what was inside grew. If the deliveryman didn't wait for him to sign, did that mean what was inside was something that shouldn't be recorded down?

His eyes narrowed slightly closer and his lips pursed while his steps slowed down before the box was placed on the kitchen counter. His black hair that was packed up into a messy half bun swayed about as he searched around, over, and under the box for anything that would indicate what exactly was inside it. He didn't want to open anything he knew nothing about.

"Hah. There's nothing here. Is it really a prank?"

After a while of contemplating, he finally decided not to open the box and instead, to go take a nap.

But, though thus was his final decision, he was still curious to know what was inside.

Eventually, at about 4:00pm, his curiosity got the better of him leading him to open the box. But, the only thing he saw was a book; a novel to be exact. His hand moved into the box and brought out the book which he inspected and found to be perfectly normal. On the cover was a title dubbed [SSS Class Devastator]

"Soo... it wasn't a prank?" He was skeptical, but still took the book to the living room and began to read it- since he had nothing better to do.

*******Three Days Later********

The windows were shut granting no access to the sun's rays which tried to pry into the privacy of the room. Under the blankets on a bed, layed a man with dark circles and eye bags due to lack of sleep. His not too thin lips were tainted with orange from the cheese puffs he'd been eating and his full brows were furrowed in a weirdly unstable focus.

Large trembling fingers turned the last page over as if expecting to see more papers appear like magic.

"Huh? That's it? Where's the rest! This story's incomplete! This can't be the end right?!" Arin was going crazy as he flipped the blankets over and took the book with him to a table where a small journal was kept. He picked up a pen kept in a small cup like container which held writing materials, and began to write down all the dots he was able to piece out from the novel; trying to see if he could decipher the 'true' ending from the clues and hints that were dropped in the chapters.

Hours passed by like this and a conclusion still couldn't be found for the true end of this finished novel which to him, only stopped halfway.

Why?

Because every time he thought he had a theory, it would suddenly not make sense especially when his IQ was below average and the novel's author was a clearly a fan of plot twists. Quite a few things were revealed to not be as they seemed in the novel so the theories he made only had a 20 - 30 out of 100 percent of being true.

Defeated, he got up from the chair and went to his bed deciding to sleep after all that time of using his brain, continously trying to connect the dots and the roller coaster the novel put him through. In the novel, the evil humans had in their hearts was truly frightening to him. The betrayals, plots and everything really broke him only for it to end like this- no, end halfway through the journey.

"Stupid f*cking Author, I hope all your hair falls out." After saying this, he drifted off to a sleep he refused to get for three days straight.

The sun which seemed to be getting hotter shone its harsher rays on the world like it was angry; making people hide away in their homes, go to swimming pools or the beach to cool themselves off.

With Arin being the former.

It's been a week now since he went to sleep after finishing the novel and today, Arin was sitting on the couch in front of the television with the book he'd already reread about three times beside him.

Scrolling through the channels out of boredom, he abruptly stopped when he reached the news channel which talked about the meteorites that fell down to earth a few days ago. There were 4 meteorites in total and each meteorite landed in the middle of each sector of the planet .

Confusion laced Arin's face as he watched the news. He immediately picked up the novel beside him and opened to the first page.

The Prologue.

It was the same.. The news was exactly the same.

The news about the meteorites, when they landed, where they landed... Everything was the same, even down to the exact words the woman on the news channel used.

"What the-" he looked back to the TV and again then to his book.

'Nonono it's not possible' his heart thumped like a drum before his brain tried it's best to shrug it off but failed, as what happened within the next few days made his beliefs waver.

After those lines about the meteorites and the news, were other descriptions of the signs that were given. And after waiting for a few days, Arin began to see the signs actually coming true like frequent red moons, tsunamis, earthquakes, the weather getting hotter, mutating plants, numerous large sinkholes and the likes.

'Ohhh no.' The reality had now dawned on him that this book he'd read... Was actually true...

It was actually becoming their reality.

He felt even more ominous when he remembered the lines that came soon after.

„The Scientists and everyone eventually went on with their lives; unknowing to the tragedy that would befall them in merely three months time„
