I walked along the path whistling a victory tune with a huge grin on my face.

How could I not be happy?

I was able to sneak into the ninja library and get away with it.

Granted, I’m sure that place didn’t have any A rank jutsus or kinjutsues. Thats probably the reason why the security was so lax. Surely if the place had anything important it would  have had much better sealing traps  and guards .

The one that I saw was probably just a chunin at most.

Who would keep a jounin as a guard in a public library anyway?

"Rustle"

POV change to unknown person.

" Why would anyone break into the ninja section?”

“That place would only be useful to academy students , Gennin and Chunins and all of them would be able to get in to there anyways "

“Hmmm”

“What do we have over here?” The masked figure thought to himself as he observed the chakra that was trapped in the seal that was embedded in the door handle.

"This chakra signature on the handle could not be from an animal.”

“No.”

“It’s too potent for that.” The masked figure grumbled under his breath as he observed the seal on the door.

He extended two fingers coated in chakra towards the door and made an infinity symbol on the handle in one fluid motion.

FUIN: Chakra sensing thread.

As he said this a small reddish chakra globe came out of the handle.

It was attached to a light green chakra string coming from the masked man’s fingers.

"This chakra. It couldn't be.”

“But this color, this feeling and this heaviness. it feels exactly as that boy’s chakra from that day." he whispered out.

Flashback

Fox mask POV

*WHOOSH*

*WHOOSH*

*WHOOSH*

Three men wearing animal masks could be seen jumping from one building to the other at neck breaking speeds.

" Today is the first day of school huh.”

“I wonder if Subaru would find a good seedling to train this year."  said the man with a mouse mask.

"CHEH.”

“Don’t get your hopes up Mouse.”

“They are all civilian children. It would be a miracle if there was anyone that could even reach johnin level there.”

“Most of them would be useless foot soldiers " the man wearing a tiger mask replied.

"OI. OI. Gennin are useful too.”

“If not for them, wouldn’t we have to do those annoying D rank mission. " The mouse masked man replied.

"We have enough Genin in the academy as it is.”

“We don’t need any more Genin " replied the tiger masked man.

"Enough." I said.

" There might be good seedlings amongst the civilians too."

“ Haven’t you heard of the third hokages students?" I said. Voicing my opinions for the first time since they started talking.

"No. What about them? " Tiger asked in a curious voice.

"Sigh"

I couldn’t help but sigh at my subordinate’s ignorance. One would think that as Anbu would be well informed. Especially when it was about someone as high profile as the third hokage.

" This is why you should listen to the briefings instead of skipping them to go to the brothels"

" He personally taught a team of three this time.”

“One of them is the granddaughter of Mito Sama and Harishirama Senju and the other two are civilian orphans."

"I bet the other two can’t even keep up with Mito Sama’s granddaughter." The tiger said  with a smug look on his face.

“No. you idiot. They are keeping up with her just fine.”

“In fact, the black-haired boy called Orichimaru might even be better than Mito Samas Grand child when it comes to ninjutsu” I said in a snippy voice.

“So, you should…………’

Before I could finish what I was going to say.

A strange pressure began to attack me.

Threatening to overpower my will.

It was as if it was screaming at me to submit.

“What the is that” I whispered out as we stopped and turned to the direction in which the pressure was coming from.

“The academy ground?”

“But why”

“Is it being attacked?” rat said out loud.

“Doesn’t matter, we have to check this out. Something like this just cannot be ignored” I replied as I started jumping in the direction of the academy with rat and tiger following close by.

………………………………………...……break…………………………………………………

As we got closer and closer the pressure only increased only for it completely disappear right as we landed in the academy ground.

“You are late?” someone called out.

“Subaru san. What was that?” rat asked as we stared at our old friend.

“That was the chakra awakening of this boy.” He said with a smile on his face.

“No way”

“You are telling me a civilian was the cause of that”? Tiger shouted out.

Tuning out my subordinate’s shouting.

I focused on the child in Subarus hands.

Blood red hair and that familiar looking face.

“It couldn’t be.” I thought to myself as I was unable to stop the smile that was forming behind my mask.

Flashback Ends.

I couldn’t help but grin as I recognized to whom the chakra belonged to.

That brat.

Not only he was able to evade the paralyzing seal but he was also able to avoid the Chunin guard.

“He has a bright future ahead of him for sure.”

“Now let’s go catch him.”

“He couldn’t have gotten far. Maybe I should even test him a little bit as I remembered the fight between that boy and the academy student.

“I wonder how much better he has gotten under Subarus guidance. “I thought to myself as I tried to sense his chakra.

“Got him”.

“So, he decided to go towards the forest huh.”

“Smart.”

“However, He can only blame his bad luck for running into me, the second-best sensor in the whirlpool village behind Uzukage sama.” I thought to myself as I shunshined in the direction of the forest.

……………………………………………break…………………………………………………...

ZEKE POV

The forest was exactly what you would assume it would be at night.

Dark and spooky.

It was only the moonlight that was coming through the thick canopy that allowed me to follow the old pathway that would get me out of this creepy place.

The path was full of leaves and broken branches.

There was complete silence in the forest except for the sound of leaves rustling due to the wind, An occasional hoot from an owl and of course the sound of branches being broken due me stepping on them.

I walked down the path with grin on my face.

Stopping every once in a while, to see if I’m still on the correct path.

Hmmm.

After 20 minutes of walking, I stopped and listened. For some reason my instincts were screaming at me.

Telling me that there was something watching me. It was then I noticed how quiet it was.

“Why is it so quiet?” I thought to myself uneasily.

The leaves were no longer rustling and the owls had stopped hooting.

It was almost if time stopped in the forest. It became the very definition of the phrase pin drop silence.

“ZOOOOM”

Came a sound from my right side. Almost instinctively I did a side roll to my left side.

“PUCHHIN”

I turned my head to the right.

There was kunai lodged in to the ground at place I just stood not even a second ago.

AHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA

“GOOD REFLEXES.” I heard someone shout out.

Looking up at the direction the shout came from.

I saw an Anbu with a fox mask sitting on a thick branch twirling a kunai with his right hand.

His long red hair fluttering through the wind with the moon illuminating him from behind.

He looked like Yokai taken straight out of Japanese folklore tale.

“That mask.”

“Isn’t he the guy that was protecting the princess today?”

“What is he doing here?”

“Why did he attack me?” I thought to myself.

Standing up.

I walked over to the kunai that was embedded in the ground and pulled it out.

“Why did you attack me?”

“Do you have a thing for young cute boys like me?” I questioned him as I traced the edge of the kunai with my finger.

FOX POV

Jumping from tree to tree as silently as I could. I got closer to the source of the chakra.

“Subarus seal must be failing” I thought to myself.

The boy’s chakra felt stronger than the last time I saw him.

Finally, I stopped on a branch of a huge oak tree.

There was the boy.

He was walking along the old forest path not even five meters away from me.

Deciding to observe him a bit more I sat down on the branch.

“HMMMMM”

“Why did he stop?” I thought to myself as I looked at the boy.

It was as if he was listening for something.

“It couldn’t be”

“Did he feel that someone was watching him?” I thought to myself as I small smile began to form underneath my mask.

Now let’s see if his reflexes are as good as his intuitions.

Taking a kunai out of my back pocket.

I threw it at the kid with just enough force that even an academy student could dodge it while simultaneously getting myself ready to Shunshin him out if he fails to react.

After all Subaru would never forgive me if I turned his beloved pupil into a corpse.

My smile only got wider as I watched him dodge the kunai.

“Looks like our village is blessed with a good seedling this time.” I thought to myself.

Deciding it was time to announce myself I shouted out.

“GOOD REFLEXES.”

I saw the boy look up at my direction. Calmly analyzing me before standing up to go grab the kunai I just threw at him.

What came out of his mouth was something I would have never expected in a million years.

“Why did you attack me?”

“Do you have a thing for young cute boys like me?”

…………………………………….

“This brat……his mouth is definitely going to get him killed someday” I thought to myself.

Without saying anything I shunshined behind him.

“What if I do little boy” I whispered in to his ears.

A feeling of satisfaction came over me as I saw him jump away from me with his eyes wide open.

Serves him right for trying to mess with an adult.
