Three days later,

Grekov checked with his team once again.

"Is everyone in position?"

"Yes, sir" Several voices echoed in his earpiece. He felt weirdly paranoid, today. He looked up to see the CCTV in the corridor to see whether it was working or not.

Three teams of each police and personal security present on spot but his mind couldn't help but...

"You can't take electronic devices inside except mobile phone. You have to leave your laptop here." A sharpe female voice sounded at the entrance of the auditorium where the people lined up to enter.

Grekov couldn't help but frown, it was the nth university student they had to remind the rules. He move forward, it was the end of his patience.

"I am sorry, then I will leave it here." The silver-haired spoke with a warm tone, making his apology seem genuine. He had a soft smile on his face nobody could tell he was intentional in bringing in the laptop. He entered the auditorium after a few more processors.

"Is everything all rightt, officer Adel?" Grekov looked at the long queue solemn expression, cursing the students who didn't follow the rules in his mind. Of course, the face all of it was the silver-haired youth.

"Yes, sir." The female officer wanted to say 'no' but she resisted the temptation. She had been none stop working on the recent murder cases whilst studying the old serial killer case.

The auditorium belonged to the university and was located on the M University campus. Making it easy for politics, and journalism specialisation students to attend. It was a win-win situation for both since university students were a fresh voting pool.

Chase tapped on the chair's arm with his fingers. He was leaning behind in the chair as if he was bored out of his mind. But in reality, it was a facade, he was especially excited as his plan was coming to an end.

He couldn't help yawning at the speeches they were simply disappointing. Most people present in the auditorium were the university students used to fill the gaps in the conference hall which had the capacity of 700-800 people.

"Today, on the campus of M University....." Chase took out his phone and started typing. The phones were prohibited but who cared. His fingers slide on the screen while his eyes captured the amount of security in the conference hall.

His fingers on the screen froze for a moment before resuming the process of typing.

He miscalculated. The security wasn't lax as he imagined. Chase kept his bored expression but his heart was racing.

"Next our city's Mayor Mr Steve will be guiding us." One side of his lips was covered, and the excitement he felt doing this stuff was the best as he expected. This was why he could never stop himself from chasing it.

The mayor's speech went on pretty smoothly until, some people started to stand in their place, chanting phrases against the mayor. Most of them were university students that were against the policies of the mayor. This alerted the security but this was something they had already expected.

The response from Grekov's team was quick they removed everyone that stood the poor students were unable to protest. But it wasted quite an amount of time making the organizers pissed.

"Sorry for the interruption. The program will resume now." The host once again asked the mayor to come on stage. Who was quite openly mad about the situation.

Chase had to admire the mayor's strength to bore people, after just four minutes of his speech. All of a sudden cold shiver ran through his back, the gut feeling was telling as if someone was staring at him. Chase turned behind instinctively. But the auditorium was too big to catch anyone. Most people were students so it was unlikely there was someone suspicious. Nor did he feel any harmful intent from the gaze earlier.

"Oh-." Sarah dunks down leaving her friend in shock. Her friend still couldn't understand her behaviour. Sarah was in this boring speech here today due to her journalism major. But who could have thought it was her lucky day. Once again she crossed paths with Chase Xavier. 'Maybe it was fate.'

The girl close to her furrowed while telling her to stop. But knowing Sarah's personality and obsession with the certain singer she admitted her defeat immediately. Whilst feeling a little bit curious about what a musician was doing at a political conference. Her curious heart didn't stop there, as she pulled out a phone to click the picture of the silver-haired to write a post about it. A real media people for sure. But before she could type the text...

*Bang*

The door of the conference hall was opened. People in emergency despatched troops entered the conference hall without making much sound. But the audience was in an uproar.

Some were scared, some were in awe of the professionalism and heavy air carried by these people. Chase narrowed his eyes scratching his neck and leaned forward. 'The show finally reaches its climax. But this wasn't his script.'

Grekov wasn't much late in reacting as he joined the tropes after only seconds. His disposition wasn't good. But he masked it with a poker face.

Grekov's team quickly began calming the panicked and impatient crowd. They slowly began to evacuate the crowd under the guise of some emergency. They probably wanted to keep the last bit of trust people had in authority.

Chase was the last one in his row to get up but the officers assigned were too occupied to notice the odd expression he had. He walked past the stage close by but the officers had encircled the stage not leaving space for even an ant to pass by.
