As we reach this critical part in the story, I find myself at a crossroads. It's mostly me wanting to do multiple endings again, like a lot of my other stories. I just like these characters too much and while I wouldn't change up most of the upcoming arcs that much that I already have envisioned. It just doesn't seem right to me to end them with painful rejection.
Maybe that's just my writing style or maybe I just feel too bad for fictional characters and the readers who've grown to love a lot of them. So I just want to pose the question of what you, the audience, would prefer. I'll have a poll on if you'd prefer more endings or not, but also would like to hear thoughts on the whole concept.
Thanks to those who've already put in their thoughts on the last chapter. And special thanks to MrWirelessCaller for giving me the idea of consulting people. I'll be taking a short break to think on this (kind of like Iruka during the last arc) and still hope to have this story finished before the year is over.

If it ain't broke why fix it? If it's your style to write that way then do as you like.
Besides, I think many would feel the same about feeling bad for fictional characters. Nothing wrong with getting immersed. What's the point of reading otherwise amirite?
While I like finality, I don't mind multiple endings if it's a possibility. I can see MC with Shiuka (only because she's around him the most), Ninka (because she's the most aggressive while he's too passive), or Iruka (her recent moves shows higher aggressiveness for the limited encounters vs Shiuka, since MC is imho very passive it's going to take an aggressive girl to advance the potential relationship) but personally I think he'd be happiest with Ino due to both of them being hard core high level gamers (even though neither has shown that kind of interest directly, they have the main common interest).
The thing is I can't see Hakuta initiating the relationship because each of the girls did this to him except for Ino (he did pursue her but not knowing her as the gamer). If it wasn't for him being forced to move into Shiuka's home, I could see him going through high school with zero girlfriends because he had a thing against gyarus.
You do raise a good point there Guess it's bound to happen as a writer since I'm thinking about these characters and stuff even readers don't end up seeing in the final product. It's like being a parent, almost.
@MrWirelessCaller It is funny that most of my MCs would likely stay single throughout high school were it not for the catalyst event. Then again, some things would still occur to them regardless like Hakuta in this case with Iruka wanting to be his friend because of the similarities to Masahito. Though it's a little sad to think that he'd reject her for good because in that example he never went through what he did with Shiuka.
