[Class change book aquired]

[You currently do not have a class]

[You have attained the class「Well Owner」]

"...What?" Shiro was stunned. A class change book when he is only at level 1 is extremely good fortune. Normally, to acquire a class at level 1, one would have to complete a long quest in their starting town. And it would just be a normal basic class. These include swordsmen, fighter, archer, thief, and mage. Other classes are branched off of these 5 main classes, except classes such as blacksmith, tailor, etc.

Class change books at the minimum give you a tier 2 class. Tier 1 are the 5 basic classes. Tier 2 are the classes one level above them. And so on. Nobody knows how many tiers there are. But each tier is represented by a color. Tier 1 is grey. Tier 2 is green. Tier 3 is blue. Experience from past games would tell us after blue is purple then gold. Though this is just speculation for now.

Shiro was excited when he saw the system message saying that this was a class change book. But then his face changed. Well Owner? What was this? It is not so much a class as it is a title.

He quickly opened up his stats window.

[Shiro] Level 1

Class: Well Owner

Attack: 10

Defense: 10

Agility: 10

Endurance: 10

Intelligence: 10

Charisma: 10

Luck: 5

Spendable points: 0

Exp: 0 (100 exp required to level up)

Now there was another line under his name. So his class really had been changed to Well Owner. He was dazed looking at it. No matter how you looked at it, it did not look like a class. But Shiro quickly snapped out of it. He had to stay optimistic. All classes can achieve greatness. To trick himself, he convinced himself that the evolved version of this class must be much better.

It was at this point that something sparked in his mind. He saw something weird. The text for Well Owner. It was in gold. Shiro thought about it. If his class is in gold color, then it would mean that it is a legendary class. When Shiro realized this, he got excited again. He doesn't know how many other legendary classes there are, but he was sure there aren't many. And he had gotten a legendary class at level 1. If people were to hear about this, they would be very jealous.

It's like giving a mage a high tier magic spell that doesn't cost much mana. He could spam the spell on stronger enemies and level up faster. Having a legendary class as a starting point would guarantee faster growth, as the skills that come along with these classes would have higher attack damage and stuff.

Shiro looked at his stats again. He noticed that there were other pages. He looked to the next page.

Equipment:

Beginner's shirt

Beginner's pants

Beginner's shoes

He didn't expect much from this page, to begin with. He turned to the next page.

Inventory:

Bread (20)

Copper coins (100)

Copper knife (1)

He had some food and copper. Though he wouldn't be able to use any copper coins, seeing as he is in the middle of nowhere. He then turned to the last page.

Quests:

Gather wood logs 0/20

It was the quests page. And he actually had a quest. But it was to farm wood. Shiro didn't know if the game was serious or not. He wanted to cry.

There was nothing else for him to do. So, he went to the nearby forest. It took about 10 mins to reach the forest. He took out the copper knife. He didn't have an axe to cut down a tree, so he had to use the knife.

He went in front of a tree and kept slashing at it. It was really tiring. It took him about an hour in-game to cut down the tree, which would be 20 minutes in real-time. He was very exhausted. He looked at his status which was in the bottom left of his vision. His stamina bar was almost empty.

He ate a loaf of bread to replenish his stamina. Though, he would run out of bread sooner or later. And he doesn't know where to look for food in this barren land. After resting for a bit, he went back to slice at trees.

The first tree provided 8 wood logs. So he chose a slightly bigger tree this time. After an hour and a half, he finally cut down the tree. It provided him 14 wood logs. He stored all the wood in his inventory. He had quite a lot of space in his inventory. 1 Inventory space could hold 100 of each item. And he currently had 10 inventory spaces. This could be further improved by leveling up.

After he had gathered all the wood he needed, he looked at his quests page again. There was something new now.

Quests:

Gather wood logs 22/20

-Completed-

Head back to your well to continue the quest

He completed the quest. Now he had to go back to the well. This was probably a linked quest of sorts. Though he didn't like how the system said "your well". He didn't know whether to laugh or cry. But there was nothing he could do except sigh at the system.

Feeling down, he headed back to "his" well. He went before the well and a quest window popped up in his view.

[Repair the well]

[Cost: 5 wood logs]

This was probably the next quest. He looked at this quest page. And sure enough, it was there. Shiro couldn't think of a reason as to why someone would want to fix a dried-up well in the middle of some unknown barren land. But as it was his quest, he did it anyway.

He clicked at the fix option that came along with the quest window. As the 5 logs disappeared from his inventory, a yellow light flashed onto the well and its interior, all the way to the bottom. After a few minutes, the light started to fade. The well was fixed, it looked much better now. Before, there were holes on the inside of the well. Now, the holes are covered up by wooden planks. And the top of the well which previously had nothing now has a roof and a bucket attached to a rope.

Now that the well is fixed, he doesn't need to worry about water in this barren place. But food is still a problem.

At this point, a new quest window popped up in front of him.

[Build a campfire]

[Cost: 1 wood logs]

He sighed and clicked at the option to build a campfire that came along with the quest window. He chose a place a little bit far from the well to build the campfire. It took a few seconds for the campfire to appear. Its size was enough for 20 people to surround it. Shiro thought about how he didn't need a campfire this big, seeing as there was no one with him and he hadn't even seen a single trace of human life anywhere around here.

He sighed again. A new quest appeared.

[Build a small house]

[Cost: 8 wood logs]

He clicked the build option and chose to build the house near the completed campfire. It took a few minutes for it to complete. Then another window popped up.

[Basic class quests finished]

[Special building options are now unavailable]

[Class has been updated]

[「Well Owner」--> 「Camp Leader」

"So, the quests were from my class. And I had this special building option. So, do I need to build stuff with my own hands now?" Shiro was feeling down. He couldn't help but think of his dream.

"Darn it. I don't want to be some builder. I want to be a great swordsman. I want to be a swordsman that can cut whole armies in half with a single slice. How did I get stuck with this builder type class?"

Shiro couldn't help but imagine himself standing in front of an army. Saying stuff like "If you don't stop advancing, I will be forced to stop you." Then the general of said army shouting "What can a mere swordsman do? Get out of the way." Then Shiro calmly replying "I warned you. Now face the consequences." Then he sweeps his sword from left to right, and the whole army is killed by his single slash. Then he turns around and slowly walks away. He would look so cool.

But all of this was just his imagination. But now he is stuck with this builder type class. He doesn't know if he'll ever be a swordsman.

Sighing, he went inside the house. All it currently had was a bed. Shiro stared at the bed and was dumbfounded.

"Is the system playing a joke on me? What's the difference between this bed and the floor?" The bed didn't have anything on it. It would be the same as sleeping on the floor. Shiro cursed at the inconsideration of the system. He thought about a solution and went back to the forest area.

On his way, he was thinking about his food problem. An idea came into his mind. Maybe the forest had some fruit trees. The reason he came to the forest was to collect leaves to put on his bed so that his back wouldn't hurt the next day. But he might try finding some food as well.

He picked quite a lot of leaves from the floor and put it in his inventory. He tried going deeper into the forest to look for some food but he spotted something moving in the distance. He didn't dare go any further into the forest. He only had a knife and the shadow appeared to be quite large. If he was to engage the shadow now, he would probably die. So, he went back to the house.

There was a time shown above the status in the left bottom of his vision. It was currently 3 pm. He put the leaves onto the bed and lay on it. He thought about his future. He opened up his stats window. He looked at his character page.

[Shiro] Level 1

Class: Camp Leader

Attack: 10

Defense: 10

Agility: 10

Endurance: 10

Intelligence: 10

Charisma: 10

Luck: 5

Spendable points: 0

Exp: 0 (100 exp required to level up)

He was reading his character information. There were no changes. He was about to close it when suddenly as if someone poured cold water on him, he jumped to his feet.

"Why didn't I notice this earlier? My class changed." Shiro hit himself in the head. He might be good at studying but he was bad at paying attention. He could dedicate himself to one thing very effectively. But he had the bad habit of ignoring other things. Just as he completely ignored the class change message.

"I really need to pay more attention." Shiro reminded himself to change his bad habit.

"So my class changed from a Well Owner to a Camp Leader. This seems like class evolution to me. It seems as though this legendary class isn't as garbage as it sounds like. It can actually evolve. That must be the reason that it is a legendary class. Huh, what's this?" He was thinking about how he could further evolve this legendary class of his when he noticed a new page was added to his stats window.
