“Happy Birthday, Alice!”

Today is mom’s 32 Birthday. We’ve closed down the shop and invited a large number of people, such as mom’s friends, dad’s friends, the neighbors, and a babysitter, Henry. He’s not as competent as Lach, though.

The walls are decorated with banners, and there are gifts everywhere. My favorite one would probably be the Music Box, but mom likes the sword better. I never knew she was so talented. That’s my mom!

It’s lively and noisy, but I don’t really mind. What I mind is that I’m tired to the point of drooling! How shameful…

“Happy Birthday, mom!” Lily said as she gave mom roses.

“Happy Birthday!” Sara smiled, giving mom a gold bracelet.

Mom smiled. I never realized how pretty she was.

Under the soft lantern’s glow, her hair shined like it was the sun. Her soft eyes sparkled radiantly, and her smile was more genuine and kind than any I’ve seen, except… Grey’s?

What?
