Huo Yuhao's POV

Another one came.

Just how many Ice blizzards does the core region of Extreme North face in a day? I had to go through 15 Ice blizzards in 10 days just to reach the core region of the Extreme North from the outer region of it.

After forming two spirit rings of red-golden colour to my Dragon God spirit, I decided to come to the core region of Extreme North to get my third spirit ring for the second martial spirit.

It took me two months to reach the outer region of the Extreme North from the outskirts of the Star Luo Forest by walking. Well, I mostly traveled with the merchant carts who allowed me to travel with them after showing them my cooking skills.

I doubt I would have been allowed to travel if I didn't look like a ten-years old boy after I gained my second martial spirit. But the experience which I went through traveling with merchants was an eye opening for me. 

Their struggles of going through difficult areas, delivering goods on time, sometimes facing nature's wrath to deliver the goods. Most of the merchant leaders had a dream of doing trades in Shrek City. I even experienced the cliche bandit attack on the carts, but surely enough merchants just needed to hand down a little sac of gold coins and then they would talk like friends and go on their ways.

As I was considered a cook in the whole journey, I just gave them the reason to find and make a new dish from the ingredients from Extreme North. I also practised lying by telling everyone on my many travels that it was a family tradition of travelling at the age of ten to make your own dish and then settle somewhere in my family.

And with the status as a cook I was able to get a lot of the seeds at a discount or trade to grow different vegetables and herbs in my spiritual sea. Well I never knew Long Jin would gain a hobby of farming, that she took care of most of the plants in her free time. But I forced her to relax and let Tian Ming also take care of the farm and farm hills in shifts. 

At first I thought that Long Jin would have a large appetite as she was a dragon but instead it was Tian Ming who had the largest appetite among us three. Even though both of them only needed to survive and feed on my spiritual power, they still demanded at least to cook once a day for them, which I didn't disagree with as it allowed me to delve deeper knowledge about plants and fruits of this universe. And I also found few plants could get rich in spirit power and become spiritual herbs if I practised my cultivation technique while cultivating in the farms.

But spiritual herbs didn't increase my cultivation speed, which I didn't focus on, instead I grew spiritual herbs to use for recovery from injuries during emergencies or to sell and earn some money. Knowing well my cultivation speed will remain the same throughout my cultivation journey, I practised mostly my new spirit abilities and element control practice as I gained affinity in all elements due to my second martial spirit. 

After getting a little hang of destruction and time elements through meditation and spars with Long Jin in my spiritual sea, I started to delve for deeper understanding in Ice element as the current environment was right for it.

[ Your comprehensive powers are really surprising for me, Yuhao. But really why don't you practice using a spear as your main weapon, isn't it the best weapon?] Long Jin asked through the spiritual sea.

[No. For now I'm trying to gain understanding in all weapons and then decide the most suitable weapon for me. And do you think I won't notice how disappointed you were when I didn't decide on the spear as my main weapon to concentrate on? Just relax, I'm not abandoning my spear skills and techniques just because my main weapon will be different in future.] I explained to the dragon in my spiritual sea. 

[ But after gaining your third spirit ring, you have to accept the inheritance which I have because it is draining little by little from my spiritual energy to keep it with me. And by draining I meant it is reducing my reserves of spiritual power. So try to get your third spirit ring quickly. ] She explained to me in concern and worry.

Sigh. And she is telling me now. At least she didn't tell me when her situation was dire. Dragon's pride and stubbornness. Wait will I also gain stupid arrogance of a dragon as I have Dragon God spirit?

Better think positive. Even if I come arrogant, I need to learn when to lie low and when not. But sure enough I need to concentrate on my primary goal from now on. To get Ice Jade Emperor Scorpion as my third spirit ring for my Dragon God spirit. 

[ Are you sure Tian Ming, this is the region where she lives because I don't want to fight other spirit beasts of the Extreme North for unnecessary reasons.] I asked.

[ Don't worry, partner. I know all areas and regions where each type of beasts live in the Extreme North. And don't worry, you will find that bitch here somewhere only.] Tian Ming said.

For some unknown reason, she is a little hostile towards the Ice Emperor. The reason for it I don't know because the knowledge which I have about the fate of the universe included Tian Ming as a male and in love with the Ice Emperor, which here in case is the opposite. 

But it was Tian Ming only who this time recommended getting Ice Emperor as my spirit ring even though she dislikes her for unknown reasons. And she thinks that only the Ice Emperor will accept to become my spirit soul as she will not survive the lightning tribulation she will face in the coming few years. 

Putting those thoughts aside, I concentrated on the Ice element rich in this location. In ten days I managed to find the control and attack abilities of Ice element, now my focus was on its defense ability of Ice. If I am able to successfully gain the versatility of Ice, it will become easier for me to accept the Ultimate Ice affinity from Ice Jade Emperor Scorpion. 

As Long Jin represented Destruction and Time elements of the Dragon God, I was able to gain higher affinity in those elements and managed to have surface level understanding which helped me to control my spirit abilities more easily. 

Ugh. Let it be. I will do this comprehension of Ice another time, for now I should be happy to gain immunity against cold in this harsh environment. For now I will focus on getting to my target.

Sensing immediate danger to my life as I took one step ahead in this snow filled land, I used the second spirit ability of my Dragon God spirit, Time Domain. This allows me to control the flow of time in a certain radius to my body as long as I could supply spirit power to it. 

Reducing the flow of current below my feet, I moved away from my previous location quickly, as I saw a tail of jade coloured with the tip in whitish colour with a pointed end.

I think I found my target.

“What are you?!” 

The newly revealed Ice Jade Emperor Scorpion shrieked while pointing one of its pincers at me.

It was 1.5 meters long and its whole body was covered in the colour of ice and jade green colour. With a hexagonal covered body and a meter long two pincers and six slender legs, its yellow eyes glared at me.

Before I could speak I felt a disturbance in my spiritual sea and soon enough a blue haired woman projected herself near me.

“How is my partner, bitch? Today he came here to get you as his spirit ring in a conscious form just like me. So be thankful and accept it.” Tian Ming said arrogantly.

I face palmed as I saw how she acted. No explanation. No introductions. Direct Order. Amazing, just amazing, was my Dragon God spirit making her pride rise or she has some ulterior motives. 

“Yo-u are that cursing worm! I can't believe you are alive till now! And you are- wait! What did you become!?” 

To my surprise the Ice Emperor recognised Tian Ming but the poor scorpion was shocked at the aspect of a conscious spirit ring. 

Not breaking the mind of the Ice Emperor by giving her more surprises without any explanations, I explained to her how spirit beasts could become spirit souls and how they could reach God rank and also gave her my goal to go against the Divine realm.

“...I am not sure about it. I mean..when I had accepted my death that I won't survive the coming tribulation when suddenly a solution appears in your form which allows me to have a God level power in future.. It doesn't feel right…”

Well considering circumstances from her perspective and the timing of my offer are coincidental even according to the future I saw, but her need for my future plans are needed a lot. 

“You sure know how to deflate your resolve when you are half step in the coffin. Are the spirit beasts of the Extreme North so weak in their will?” 

Long Jin taunted the Ice Emperor as she also projected herself with spiritual power while appearing on my other side.

And sure something deep inside her woke up and like an excited beast she looked at me and said, “ Okay I'm ready for a new path you have presented to me. But I want you to promise me one favour. It won't be harmful or against you so you don't have to worry about it.”

Groaning a little inwardly at a new task I need to complete in future, I calmly sat down while forming all the necessary formations around me and the Ice Jade Emperor Scorpion. 

With a little roar, two spirit rings of red-golden colour appeared while scales formed on my hands which were dimly radiating nine colours. Knowing well I was in tip top condition, I poured a lot of spiritual power of mine in the formations which in a millisecond glowed in large intensity. 

I closed my eyes as I felt sharp pain all over my body and found that I was easily able to accept the essence of Ice Jade Emperor Scorpion while she was still alive spiritually in my spiritual sea. 

Even though the pain didn't stop, I managed to tolerate it in a few minutes due to my Pain Tolerance skill. Opening my eyes, I saw my whole body was covered in a thin layer of ice. Shaking my body a little and cleaning myself with a wave of spiritual power through my clothes, I cleaned myself from the previous ice.

I heard an excited new voice in my spiritual sea. And sure enough, when I entered my spiritual sea I found a girl with green hair in twin tails and small bosoms covered in a green dress enthusiastically jumping in front of a two storey house built by me. 

As she was going to become a 400,000 years spirit beast in a few years, she had to face a tribulation which a spirit beast faces every 100,000 years to gain an upgrade in power or to survive. But she had lost all her potential to reach this age and she must have accepted her fate to die. 

But due to becoming my spirit soul of my Dragon God spirit she must have felt the infinite possibilities for her future. 

There was Tian Ming looking at the Ice Emperor in a different gaze while Long Jin looked at her in a calm gaze from the front of the house.

“I have decided! From now on, you, the Ice Emperor, will be my rival till eternity!” Tian Ming shouted at the sixteen year old looking green haired girl. While the said Ice Emperor looked at Tian Ming in a dumb way and then both started to bicker and curse each other. 

So now instead of hate or dislike, she looks at Ice Emperor in a competitive way. At least I don't want my spirit souls fighting with each other to kill.  

My Dragon God spirit managed to accept the essence of a spirit beast from different species from a dragon as Ice Jade Emperor Scorpion had voluntarily accepted to become my spirit ring, which made it easier to make her my spirit soul. 

I chuckled a little as I also found a new person to spar in my spiritual sea. But first I need to handle an almost 400,000 years old torso spirit bone of Ice Emperor and then the inheritance of that necromancer from another universe, which Long Jin is carrying with herself.

After all this power up, I will deal with that stalker who followed me through my whole journey till the Extreme North.
