Sooo yeah, I place the second chapter here. I got really confused when I posted the first chapter and it didn't show up on main page and in search. I freaked out a little but once I searched it up a little on the Forum, I found out it's a very popular question with new authors like me. New story just needs to go through moderation and isn't posted right away. Enjoy!

My name is Larry. Right now I'm in some kind of dark space forgotten by all men and gods, which is kinda accurate, because I haven't seen any of them here. Or like anything, really. No plants, animals, insects, anything. Only darkness. I can't even feel my body. Limbs don't respond. Did I die? Well, I was stabbed. Maybe I'm in coma? Maybe they will put me next to my girlfriend in hospital.

I was going to the hospital because of my girlfriend. She fell from the stairs while carrying some boxes and broke her leg. Really unfortunate. We live together in a small apartment. I was working at that time and I left early when our neighbour called me to tell about the accident. It would be okay if not for some crazy fucker that chose to go wild in crowd and of all of people he stabbed me.

Now, back to reality. Or is it? I don't know anymore. Am I moving? Like I said, I can't feel my body. I seem to be able to speak though. Is it partial paralysis? That sucks.

Then I felt something. Something was creeping towards me. It was bigger than me, much bigger. Instictively, I felt like I needed to run. Far away, quickly. But how, when I don't even know if I am standing on a ground? Then even my thoughts of running were rended futile by something constricting me all of the sudden. It was long and dark, like everything here, but somehow even darker. How am I even distinguishing it? Do I have some kind of night vision? My thoughts were then interrupted by a voice.

[Don't run, I want to take a look at you.]

A pretty voice, delightful even. But when I looked around too find the owner of such beautiful voice, I saw IT. An enormous mass of darkness, slowly encircling me as i moves around. The long shapes that wrapping thighty around me are actually tentacles shot by the dark mountain to restrain me. But what shocked me the most was-

[It talks!?]

Not finding anything else than black mass, I assumed that it was the one that talked. My assumption immediately confirmed itself.

[YOU talk? You have the ability to think and communicate in this state... thats curious. Do you know what you are?]

Yeah, it talks. Is it mocking me? In my 27 years of living my life I never doubted what I was.

[A... human?]

[Ha Ha! Good joke. What kind of human looks like a floating ball of light?]

[Wha...!!!]

What does it mean by ball of light!? Is it lying? It's the most absurd lie I've ever heard! But why would it lie about something so obvious?

(whispering)[Does it mean I'm realy not a human now? It's true I can't feel my limbs but I thought I'm in coma or paralyzed-]

[Isn't it about time to stop your little insanity? Your light is flickering, its annoying.]

[Wha... ah, sorry..!B-beautiful.]

A domineering voice knocked me out of my thoughts. When I looked up there stood the most beautiful woman I saw in my all life. Even famous actresses couldn't hold her a candle. Her cheeck were tinted in pinkish hue which further enhanced her unrivaled beauty.

[Well well, that word wasn't adressed to me in millenias..]

That explaines the blu-WAIT.

[M-millenias?! How o-Wait, who are you?!]

[That what you're asking? Well, I guess I'll forgive you your insolence. Not many people know that know that.]

[What do yo-]

Then an huge pressure descended upon me. I wasn't even able to squeal, ending my sentence flew out of my mind. Then I heard.

[Behold! My name is Caligo, the daughter of Chaos and a goddess of the abbys!]

.
..
...
...
.....

[Why aren't saying anything?]

I can't.

[Hm? Oh, sorry. Am I intimidating you? I forgot. It's a long time since anyone was here. And even then it was only fellow gods and a little intimidation doesn't matter to them. Hmm... Now it should be okay.]

So what are you doing here if no one comes here? Well, I dont want to release you to society if you intimidate everyone so much... How do you do that anyway? You said that you were the goddess? Oh it seems like I can talk now.

[Thank you. So, what am I if not a human, if it's okay to ask you?]

[What's your name?]

[Larry]

[Okay. So Larry, are you aware what happens when you die?]

[No, how would I know. But what does this have to do with my question?]

[I'll get to it. And of course you wouldn't know, you aren't from here.]

[What do you mean?]

[Like I said, I'll get to it. About what you are - now, Larry, you are a soul.]

[A soul?]

[Yes. Of course you always had one, but after death it's the only thing that remains. You died, so now you are merely a soul.]

[I... died?]

[Yes.]

So... That fucker! He killed me! I thought that fucking cutthroat stabbed me and ran away and I was resqued and put in coma, but I'm dead. Did get lucky and stabbed me in a heart? Or did he get sure I died? No, it doesn't matter anymore. What matters is that I'm dead. Fuck.

[What happens to the soul when the body dies?]

[Normally, a soul should be retrieved to cycle of reincarnation after the judgement of the mind. Oh, it's like... how to put it... You get to see all your life all over again. Then the soul is put to the cycle and goes to new body. But it didn't happen to you.]

[Why?]

[That's what what I would like to know. Let me see...]

The goddess looked at me. A goddess? I guess I accepted it. She looks convincing. Her burning orange eyes gaze at me as if they scrutinized my soul... well, I am one.

[So it's like that... HaHaHa! Ridiculous! It seems that you are very lucky!]

[What? How am I lucky? I'm dead.]

What is she blabbering about?

[The god of your world happened to personally perform the judgement of your mind and it seems you were not the one fated to die there. He wanted to apologize and reincarnate you with memories intact but it would cause problems with the cycle. So he sent you here.]

[Wait... Is it another world?]

[Hmm? Yes.]

[Is there magic here?]

[There is. How do you know?]

[A guess.]

Another world. There's magic. What kind of fate lottery is this.

[But there is one thing I dont't understand. If I am to be reincarnated why am I here?]

[Well, the procedure of your reincarnation is a little diffent. Your memories are intact. The body of the child in the womb of your soon-to-be mother has to absorb your soul. And that takes time. So your god chose the place that is relatively safe and empty.]

I looked around the dark space.

[And where are we?]

[My domain.]

Oh. Never expected the god of my world to casually diss the gods of another world.

[I'm sorry.]

The goddess smiled warmly. She looked so beatiful smiling that it melted my heart. Not that I had one.

[Don't be. I will gladly enjoy some company in this place. The others might believe that I'm so cold-hearted that I can't take a joke but I don't see myself as someone like that. It's just that my affinities are bad and no one wants to get close apart from maybe my daughter and her children.]

Wow. She has a child?

[Affinities? Like with the elements? What are yours?]

The face of the goddess darkened and she looked down a little.

[Well, mostly, though the only one of my general affinities is darkness. The rest are void and abyss. Those are the major ones.]

I see now that I wrote something confusing. What Caligo means is that affinities are mostly elements but there are some irregular affinities, like her void and abyss.

[Wow. Aren't those neat. I can't imagine what abyss would do, but don't void and darkness make you like the goddess of cosmos? That's cool. Aren't you a really powerful and beautiful goddess? Why so down about it?]

Her head jumped back to her previous position and eyes locked on me.

[What...did you say?]

[That you are a powerful and beautiful goddess?]

[No, before that.]

Then I roughly repeated repeated my words.

[Do you mean it?]

Why wouldn't I?

[Yes, of course.]

Then, a deep blush bloomed on the goddess' face as she said her next words.

[Hey. Won't you... become my divine child?]
