"Watching how that damn monster was eating our friend alive right in front of our eyes and taunting us, we were all seething with rage. As such, we instantly charged forward to attack and kill it." The middle-aged continued.

At this moment, the middle-aged man couldn't help but shake his head as he laughed bitterly. One could see the pain in his eyes." What we didn't expect was that the monster was far more powerful than us and his skin was hard like steel."

 

"We originally thought that the reason it attacked from ambush, then slipped away was because it was weak and didn't dare to face all of us alone. However, we couldn't be more wrong."

 

"Even when our entire group attacked it together, we barely landed a hit due to how fast it was. Instead, it heavily wounded us."

 

"Heavily wounded?" Hegel questioned suspiciously.

 

"Right." Answered the middle-aged nan with an angry and fearful expression on his face.

 

"That devilish beast definitely was capable of killing us all, but it didn't. It only heavily wounded us and didn't kill none of us." He added.

 

"Seeing how powerful he was, we gave up on avenging our friends and instead decided to make a run for it. We originally thought that we still had a chance of getting out alive as the monster didn't chase after us."

 

"To our surprise, that cunning evil creature was following us in secret. Every half an hour, it would ambush and kill one of us. It was simply playing with us as if it was a little kid playing with his food before eating it."

 

"Sometimes, it would take the victim away to eat it, while other times, it would just eat our friends right in front of us while greedily looking at us and licking its lips." Said the middle-aged man while his body was trembling uncontrollably.

 

Not to mention Hegel and Handal, even the fearless Dante's heart couldn't help but tremble upon hearing that.

 

It was well known that magical beasts didn't possess any other intellect aside from being able to measure their enemies' strength with their beast instinct.

 

They acted purely on instinct because they lacked intelligence. It was the main reason that most of them were unable to awaken their system window.

 

Only those that were able to reach the Diamond Rank or level 40 and above possessed some degrees of intelligence and were even able to awaken their system window.

 

However, those magical beasts resided deep in the inner area of the Evergreen Mountain range, not in the outer area.

 

But, the magical beast that the middle-aged man had encountered seemed to be extremely powerful and highly intelligent as well, to the point of even being perverted.

 

"No matter what we did, we were unable to get rid of that monster, let alone runway. As we were in the outskirts, we didn't find any other humans as they were all in the inner area looking for treasure."

Dante and the others could only imagine just how terrified, mentally broken, and desperate that woman was to kill herself to not suffer the fate of being eaten alive, one bite at a time.

 

"Just like that, the monster continued to torment us, eating one of us every half an hour. In the end, only me and another friend were left."

 

"We continued to flee along the inner area, hoping in vain that this monster would engage in battle with some other group of people, giving us a chance to flee. But, we didn't find anyone along the way."

 

"I almost went crazy and was about to kill myself too. However, just when I gave up all hope and was about to end my life, I saw your guys' figure in the distance." Said the middle-aged man with a strange expression on his face.

 

After hearing the middle-aged man's last sentence, the complexion of Hegel and the others suddenly changed.

 

"Mother fucker! So the reason you were running towards us was to use as a shield to make your escape." Even the muscle brain Dante suddenly realized the plan of the middle-aged man. He was royally pissed at the moment.

 

"My friends...…..Sorry….I…I had no choice." The middle-aged man knew what Dante was thinking when he saw him approaching with his sword.

 

He then hurriedly said, "I have kids. I have three little kids, now my wife is dead, and they only have me now. I need to survive and get out of this damn place"

 

"Son of a bitch! Do you think I want to die?"Hegel said coldly.

 

Just based on the middle-aged man's explanation, they had a general sense of how powerful this monster was.

 

It wasn't a monster that the three of them could contend with. Such a highly intelligent magical beast would at least be a Diamond Rank.

 

What's more, that was only the power that had been revealed. There's a high possibility that the monster might be even more powerful.

 

Aside from Dante who was a high-level Bronze Rank warrior with his level 17, they were all Mid-level Bronze Rank warriors.

 

So how the hell they were going to contend with such a monster? Even if all three of them joined forces, they still wouldn't be a match at all.

 

"You didn't want to die, so you pulled us underwater as well?" Even the calm Handal was fuming with rage at the moment.

 

"Dante, hurry and cut off his legs so he can't move and so we use that chance to escape. That monster clearly had its mind set on him." He coldly added.

Without a hint of hesitation, Dante dashed toward the middle-aged man to cut his legs. However, before he could land the hit, he immediately stopped.

 

"Ohh shit, it's too late." He said with a grave expression on his face as he was looking into the distance. His face was white as paper.

 

Hearing this, whether it was the middle-aged man or the other two, they immediately turned around to look.

 

Not too far away, they saw a five feet tall and six feet long pitch-black six-legged nightmarish creature slowly walking towards them while chewing a severed hand in its gaping maws with blood dripping out his mouth.

 

The monster had the body of a panther and glossy dragon scales black like obsidian including two terrible horns, black as onyx, crest its sloping forehead.

 

It had bone spurs growing on its back to its five feet long tails which splits into a dozen tiny tentacles that ended in pads of sharp spiky edges.

 

"Ohh shit! We are fucked." Blurted out Handal as he was looking at the cold red searing eyes of the monster who was looking at them with curiosity while gracefully walking towards them.

 

It must be said that its graceful stride was indeed quite beautiful to behold. It didn't look like it was in hurry at all as it was taking his sweet time.

 

Not only Handal, but they were all thinking the same thing as well. They were overwhelmed with trepidation and fear as despair and panic eventually reared their head.

'There you are.' Primordius inwardly said as he was looking at the middle-aged man who was squatting straight on the ground with a horrified expression on his face while gasping for air. He looked as if he had just seen a ghost and his body was trembling uncontrollably.

 

"You are truly my lucky charm. You even went around and look for more food for me.' He added as he was looking at Dante and the others.
