
R:VCP | Chapter 8: The Fountain's Legend
It was then the next day...
Walking with a fast pace but still held with elegance was no other than, Dahlia, Ivy, Camille and Belle.
The four of them arrived at the same time at the school's gate, and simultaneously knew each other's thoughts, and immediately walk together towards their class.
Looking at them, walking away...
Our Capture Targets, can only look at them and do nothing.
Walking towards their classroom, our Villainesses and Heroine can't help but worry and giddy.
Thinking if Luna has come... Or not.
Opening the classroom's door their breath's that they held, was only then exhaled... depressingly.
"Luna's... not here yet?" Ivy muttered in question particularly to no one, the same thoughts the others had in mind.
Readying herself for school again was already a tough work for Luna.
Especially when she still felt weak after the treatment.
Right now, Luna looked like a fragile glass doll, a little touch or high sound might break her.
She ready herself to school. Luckily her parents aren't in the house, for they went to Paris for a Worldwide Gala Competition.
If they are here, obviously they would be really shock if they saw Luna right now.
Pale, fragile, and weak as much before. Brushing her hair.
One stroke...
Two stroke...
And three.
There in her hands, a handful white strands of hair.
She looked indifferently at it... And just throw it in the trash bin.
The moment she throw her hair in there, she can't help but pause for a moment...
Looking at it, a trash bin which is full of... No, not trash but hairs.
Her hair.
Her white long with tingy pink of hair.
Luna went in a daze, and can't help but remember 'that' day.
The weather was good that day, the sun has just risen, it was mid spring.
It was two years before the game starts.
I, Rue Sweet Lee of the past, who is now known as Luna Sakura Smith.
The supposedly future Main Villainess when the game starts.
Was on my way to venture the city streets, and also to go window shopping.
I didn't bring the limo, because it will be just a trouble.
I was wearing a plain but quite stylish clothes if I do say so myself... It was a plaided black skirt and paired with a pink cat eared hoodie and black boots that reached my knees.
See~~ isn't it stylish?
Back to what I'm saying... I was walking, to streets by streets. Looking at the different stores, Coffee shops, books store and many different kinds of places.
When I arrived at the plaza, I decided then to walk around that area for a moment, to take in the pleasant view there.
There was a white old and elegant fountain there, which stood so beautifully...
They say, it was the Royal family who was the one who owned this fountain in the past.
But, years later... When the generation and generations started to evolved and modernized, wars came and go...
This fountain was then destroyed.
But then, just in the last 30 years, the descendants of the Royal family then issued and funded the restructuring and rebuilding of this fountain.
Saying that it should be preserve, and besides this was treasured by our ancestors in the past, so we as the descendants has the responsibility in protecting it too... They say.
For me, I don't really think to much about it...
The only thing I weighed in my mind that time was the story behind this fountain.
It was said that long time ago, when Royalty was still the one who's reigning and there wasn't any Republic and Voting Systems and even gadgets yet.
They said, in the past the King and the Queen was having trouble of bearing an heir.
It was said that the King and the Queen really love each other so much, that even when the Queen was so sickly when she was young.
The King still chose her to be his wife... To be her Queen.
The King even made an order to make a white fountain inside the castle's garden and gifted it to his Queen.
It was said that it symbolized as the King's heart which was overflowing with love which is only for her beloved Queen.
Many Royal Physician already tried their best to help their Queen, by making supplements to help her body be more healthy...
But, because of her sickness when she was young, it affected her body so much that it was really difficult for the Queen to get pregnant.
The Queen was really saddened by the news.
She apologized to the one she love, the King... For she cannot able to gave him a child nor even an heir for the Kingdom and even asked the King to just find an another Queen in her place.
But the King only shook his head and hold her tightly in his arms and said.
"You are my Queen, and you are the one I love. And no one can ever change that... To have a child or to not, does not matter. As long as we love each other it is enough..." He said and kissed the Queen's temple.
The Queen's tears fell from her eyes and she hugged the King back much tightly...
Both of them hugged each other and held each other in each others arms.
For their love was so strong... The fountain that symbolized their overflowing loved for each other had grown its own consciousness, and a spirit was born.
A girl with a flowing translucent water like colored dress was standing inside the white enchanting fountain with her white long silky like thread hair, that was scattered in the fountain's clear water.
Her white like silver hair shone brightly in the reflection of the bright moon, her skin was white and sparkled like the stars in the night sky.
Her eyes was like a water, it reflects what it sees.
Then the wind blows and made the surrounding of cherry blossom petals flew pass her, barely touching her pink plum lips that has the same color as the one which was blown by the wind.
When one may watch this scene, the only thing they can do is watch in awe.
For an ethereal looking spirit who was born from love was awaken, there she stood in the fountain, feet under the water, face looking at the dark bright sky which a silver white moon was placed along with the brightly lit twinkling stars.
Then, she held her hand in the flowing waters on the fountain, and entered the King and Queen's dream and says.
"You have given a life, for your love was strong...
In return...
I'll gave you your greatest desire, and grant you the child you've longed."
The Queen can't help but cry in tears of joy and held the King's hand.
The King looked at his Queen with a smile and looked back at the ethereal being and asked.
"Who are you?"
Then she answered.
"I am Selene..."
And after saying her name she faded, and when the Royal couple woke up the next day, a surprising news was heard!
The Queen was pregnant! And everyone rejoiced...
The Royal couple didn't forget to thank the spirit who granted their wish that time, and they visited the fountain, the fountain where she was born and lives.
They offered her flowers and food, and thanked her for granting them a child.
But, the spirit never showed up ever again after that, but the couple still didn't stop thanking her, and didn't forget her even when she didn't show up anymore to them.
She was never seen since then.
Some people say when the moon is in it's highest peak and full, and when the petals and leaves of the cherry blossom trees is blown by the winds, and thousand of stars are present, a girl who was so beautiful and ethereal can always be seen, on the fountain and holding her hand at the flowing clear water.
She was known as Selene, which means Moon.
She was like a Moon, shining so brightly and beautiful...
You can see it and it's already in front of you, but no matter how you reach out to it, you can never reach it... Nor even touch it.
A year later finally the Kingdom had it's long awaited little Prince.
The baby boy looked so charming and godly like with its features, but it doesn't show completely yet, especially he's still a baby... For now he's still considered as a cute little dumpling.
When the Prince was able to learn to walk, Every time when he have his troubles or just bored.
He always ends up in the fountain to play.
No servants knows why the Prince likes to play here... And when the sun sets he is always ordered to go back inside the castle then, in return everytime he walk back inside the castle, and the sun slowly sets, the wind would blow pass him leading the petals and leaves of the blooming cherry blossoms away...
As if guiding him back safely.
And after he's gone, and the moon shows, and the wind blows once again and there... An ethereal spirit who was like the moon appeared.
Once again looking at the moon and reaching for the stars.
Years later, a miracle happened...
The King and the Queen was given with another child once again and the first Prince was now the Crown Prince.
The Crown Prince is now 16 years old, and until now, he still keep visiting the garden where the fountain is.
There isn't a day he did not visit it.
But, he always never had the chance to meet the spirit, for him...
She was only a mere spirit who his mother the Queen keep telling him about when he was young.
That may be also the reason why he is always can be seen in the fountain when he has a problem or just bored, because he was hoping to meet her.
But, after growing up, he realized that it was just one of her mother's stories which wasn't real.
But, still maybe he was already used to... Or maybe it has become his habit, but even he'd already become a young man now.
He still found himself visiting this place... But for him right now, the ethereal spirit in his mother's stories is just a mere myth and a story.
But, one day... Everything he believed in about it, changed.
It was night time the moon was in its peak, everything seems so calm and in peace...
The Crown Prince, wasn't able to sleep.
He kept changing his position, but alas!
He still can't sleep.
The Crown Prince then decided to go out for a walk, thinking about things...
He didn't notice that his own feet had already brought him outside and now he is in the entrance of the enchanted garden, and the fountain of the ethereal spirit, where the ethereal spirit lives.
While thinking things like why do he always ends up here when he is troubled he couldn't help but be confused.
Ending his thoughts about it, he decided to go back, when...
As he turn his back, the petals and leaves of the pink cherry blossoms was then blown pass him, he seems rooted to his place by then, and can't help but look back...
There, she was...
A beautiful ethereal spirit, stood inside the flowing fountain, her silver hair reflects the bright full moon, her eyes was like a translucent water that sees everything in you...
And along the petals of pink cherry blossoms which also was blown towards her and seemingly touched her lush cherry blossom like lips.
The Crown Prince was captured by her beauty, he couldn't believe that the myth of the ethereal spirit in the fountain, was actually true.
And, here in front of him she stood.
Selene the spirit, notice someones presence, and as she look at the area.
There for the first time after she was born, it was the first time her heart throbs.
She couldn't help but held her hand on her chest, where her heart lies.
And there they look at each others eyes. It was like the whole world was in a stop...
If someone will witness this they'll surely will be awe by this painting like scenery.
One lady who looks like a Goddess, and a prince who looks like a God.
Both of them who looks like an ethereal being, who decided to descend to the mortal world, and be a human.
And that day forward, the Moon and the stars, along with the blown cherry blossoms, in the enchanted fountain...
Pair of lovers finally meet.
But, sadly their story didn't end up as a happy end. But instead a sad one...
The neighboring kingdom decided to wage a war, and the Crown Prince was ordered to lead the army.
He went to the fountain at midnight to see her there.
There she stood alone with the moon.
The Crown Prince promised that he will be back, and ask her to wait for him.
But, she only smiled and held her hands to his face, to his cheeks... And bless him, with protection and the will to fight and come back home, well and alive.
The Crown Prince smiled at her, holding her hands he kissed it. But, it was almost time to go. So even if he didn't want to, he still left and say goodbye.
After he left, the ethereal spirit was alone once again, and in her face a clear eyes paired with a lonesome smile was left.
After the dawn came, she then disappeared again.
6 months has passed and the Crown Prince finally led the kingdom's army to triumph, everyone was in joy and positivity.
But, the Crown Prince who led them through victory was once again alone, in a branch of tree looking at the full moon and scattered bright stars.
His silhouette looks lonesome.
The travel to the battleground and back to the kingdom was a one month travel
Traveling back to the kingdom, it was only after three days travel with joy and liveliness.
When a sudden message from the kingdom was sent...
Opening the letter, dread was the only thing felt by the young Crown Prince then.
He then immediately ordered everyone to go back to the kingdom as soon as possible... Especially inside the letter was the shocking news from the king.
That the kingdom was under attack.
The horses gallops nonstop, but the only thing in the Crown Prince mind right now...
...Was her.
They run their horses back to the kingdom, hoping that when they come, everything won't be to late yet...
After the news of the Crown Prince's triumph everyone rejoice, and the whole kingdom was then full of joy and liveliness, but before even anyone can celebrate.
A tragedy then descended in the kingdom.
The enemy kingdom were actually able to breach the South Wall of the Kingdom.
No one was able to predict this, that's why no one was ready for this tragedy.
It was then this day, in this mid summer day, in the scorching sun near the gardens entrance, enemy soldiers were countless asking the King and Queen to surrender, saying they don't have any chance anymore.
The enemy's General said that no one can't stop him anymore.
Especially the Crown Prince and its army, for his reason that even if they now got the wind of this attack, it will still be to late when they come.
For even if he won on the battlefield, what will be the use?...
When his own kingdom was already in ruins once he is back.
And no one can protect it.
The enemy's General then readied everyone for the attack, and the King and the Queen along with the little prince they dreadfully watch outside the balcony, the countless numbers of soldiers outside.
They tried to pray and ask for help, or even a miracle, but once the army started marching forward.
They then almost lose all their hopes, but then a miracle really did happen.
And, the King and Queen couldn't help but be shock.
A heavy forceful wind blown pass the soldiers, and once they look to where it came from, they were shocked witless to what they saw.
What they saw was an ethereal looking spirit who was beautiful beyond anything they encountered in this world.
They couldn't help but look awe.
But, it was different for the King and Queen, because right now...
Yes, the ethereal spirit still looked beautiful and enchanting, but what shocked them to tears was, in the scorching hot ambiance of the sun, in the entrance of the castle where many countless soldiers stood.
There she was walking step by step towards infront of the gate, in the entrance of the castle, there she stood firm making a stance that somehow shows that she won't let them enter no matter what.
She stood there, her whole body which once was pale and clear as a sky, was now covered with burns from the scorching sun.
Her hair which was translucently reflects the color of the moon as a silvery white, was now like a color of the glaring sun...
And her eyes, which reflects, like water, turns red as the blood of the people the enemy soldiers mercilessly killed.
In those eyes...
Those bright scarlet eyes, it didn't held any fear or even a hint of hesitation, but instead in those pair of eyes.
It only held...
Her decision...
Her determination...
Her will to fight...
Her will to sacrifice her life...
Her will to die...
For the country of her beloved...
And...
For her beloved,
...Crown Prince
