Who was the other person with a scientific mind? You know the answer. It’s our boy – the main protagonist.

“Well, my aim isn’t to rule the world, so I don’t need to fret over it. The one who should be doing it is Oliver. But still, wasn’t there a rumor that the main protagonist is Oliver’s son?”

Even though it wasn’t indicated in the story, many fellows said that it was true. Hmm… It was insignificant in the previous world but now I should try to find out if it's true. If it is false, then it isn’t much of an issue but if it's true, then…

[A/N: Is it really true? I also don’t know, guys. Tell me if you know it.]

“Hehehe… I already have his wife lookalike as my lover and if the protagonist turns out to be his son, then I will have a trump card on my hands.”

The fact he became a devil for his family shows how much he cared about it. Though Oliver now is a cruel, cold-hearted murderer, I doubt he won’t react if I tell him his son is alive. And the drama will become intense when both of them will clash being on opposite sides.

Truly romantic!

“With Oliver’s goals, there is no doubt that both of them will clash on the grounds of good and evil.”

And me? I will join in, become his best friend, show some of my talents to improve my standing and seduce the girls, and then will let him become the hero and face off all the enemies as I laze off on the rear with all the girls beside me.

“But the favoured future is still out of my hands.”

Don’t count chickens before they hatched. I better not fantasize too much and work my ass off to make it real. Having the worst luck ever, I am a problem-attracting magnet. As a demon hunter, I have been twice at the front of the death’s door.

“In the end, all comes down to strength.”

The one who said that strength can solve all problems is right. If a problem is still unsolvable, it means you aren’t using enough strength.

“I should complete this enchantment as fast as possible.”

Magic Circuits. I desperately need it. To this point, all my crisis comes from my lack of magic power. I hoped that even without magic, I could deal with most problems but now I realized how short-sighted I was.

Normal Magic that uses mana as it is in a spell is simple, but when an element is added, it becomes more tough. The most spells I use – Body Reinforcement, Barrier, and even Overclock. All of them are normal spells, as they use mana as it is in the spell, making it a bit less consuming and easy to control.

But when an element is added to mana to cast elemental magic, it becomes tough. Though the destructive power is strong, the amount of mana it consumes is too much. And the level of control it needs also increases, more so when I need to move then according to my thoughts.

The time I saved Miria from a Calamity Level Demon, to deal with the herd of demons I used [Water Magic – Rainfall], a mimic of a magic spell I saw in an anime in my previous world. Conjure dense water droplets and move them as you wish to attack enemies. With its small size and numbers accompanied by ferocious speed and momentum, it is hard to defend. To deal with the masses, there is no better magic than this.

But just using it once took all of me. I had to fight with the Calamity Demon with my sword later on. My Mana Saber, though it consumes a lot of mana, is still less compared to elemental magics. After all, instead of transforming normal mana into an element, I can simply use it as it is in my sword. Though using more mana, I can change the element of the sword as well.

The point is the spells that don’t need mana to change their properties take less magic power than the ones that need changes. Elemental magic, especially Healing magic is one of the magic that just like a sponge, just soaks in a lot of magic power upon use. That’s why I couldn’t use it to heal Miria’s parents, though I could use the Mana Saber.

During the fight with Oliver, that single strike that inflicted him was also an ultimate move imbued with all of my physical and magical power. And what was the result of it? I could hit him but that too was shallow. In return, my body was wrecked and I had to take medical rest for several days.

“I have too many ideas, but don’t have the resources to fulfill them.”

Magic... I can do a lot of magic. Don’t underestimate my scientific and otaku mind that comes along with it. But the problem is that I don’t have enough magic power.

“To stand at the top, one needs magic.”

Because that’s the rule of this world. Kenja No Mago, this world is based upon magic. And having magic is a necessity for me to live as I wish.

My hands continued to work with precision, all in the hope of completing the enchantment.

---

“It feels a bit odd after spending so much time in this cottage.”

“You are right.”

The day finally came. Today, I and Miria are about to leave this wooden cottage and return to my house. My mission to get Miria is completed, and I doubt I have any more work to do as a demon hunter.

‘I recruited Miria and got combat experience. My main two objectives are complete.’

Having experienced death's door twice, I have mentally grown. Now, even a lazy and scared modern person was like an experienced soldier ready to battle any time.

‘But I really took a lot of time.’

I am yet to return despite completing my objectives because of my injuries. With the injuries I suffered from Oliver, it was necessary to find a place to cope. And if I returned with injuries, it would be akin to inviting a devil.

After all, Mrs. Ritzburg, my mother is waiting for her son. The son who is not writing letters as he promised.

“I am fucked.”
