After leaving the territory of his own estate, Samato followed the girl who was hurrying with all her legs at a fast pace. Rushing through the territory of the clan, past the clansmen who did not pay attention, the two approached the elder fuinjutsu's estate, which was plunged into silence. When there was very little left to the goal, the scientist, speeding up, caught up with the girl and adding concern to his voice, said.

- Yuko-chan, did your father never accept help from my father?

Hearing the question, Yuko's face clouded even more, and her eyes, reddened from previous shed tears, moistened again accompanied by twitching pain. After slowing down a bit, the girl bit her lip and looked at Samato, who accompanied her.

- N-no, even when Uncle Hanshi personally came, father shouted and kicked him out. - Finally unable to stand it, a few tears rolled out of Yuko's eyes. Stopping, she stared at the boy in front of her with a tremor all over her body. - S-Samato, why doesn't the medicine help anymore? Has what you were talking about really started? Is there no way to cure it? Perhaps you have some other medicine? Please, I... I…

- Calm down, I have already told you that my medicine will not cure the disease, but only reduce the symptoms. First of all, I need to examine the elder to make sure of the possible treatment. But you have to understand, the probability that I can help is extremely small. - Seriously looking into the girl's eyes, Samato said, then turning towards the manor, in a quiet but audible whisper to Yuko, he added.  - If those elders hadn't bothered me, I might have been able to cure Uncle Mori.

Moving forward, the scientist, on whose face a fleeting grin flashed, noticed how the girl's face expressed a frown. This frown quickly outgrown understanding, which was replaced again by a sad expression and a flash of anger.

Entering the courtyard, Samato felt several attentive glances turned on him. Following Yuko inside the, the scientist saw several people talking quietly when approaching one of the rooms.

"Apparently these are the medical ninjas who maintain Mori's condition in a more or less stable condition."

The medical ninjas, also with surprise flashing on their faces, saw Samato walking towards them. Looking at each other with uncertainty in their eyes, they nervously showed their respect.

- Samato-dano, have you come to examine the elder?

Straightening up and squinting at the boy, the most senior of the medical workers present spoke, holding a small book in his hands. Pretending a forced smile, the scientist nodded with a sigh.

- Yes, after all, Yuko is my future wife and how can I watch her cry. Akashi-san, as one of the best doctors of the clan, you have been monitoring the elder's condition for a long time, so could you share the latest data. Still, although I studied his disease a little earlier and was able to create some drugs, but now, apparently, since it no longer works, the disease has progressed.

Under the expressions of the other medical ninjas, who were grimacing behind his back, Akashi calmly handed the book he was holding to Samato. Turning his head for a moment and casting a menacing glance at the ninjas standing behind him, the man spoke.

- Some time ago, the elder's condition sharply deteriorated. Previously, he could act normally, and with the help of your medication, he could practically not feel pain, but everything changed some time ago. Cancer cells, for some unknown reason, began to produce more vital energy, after which they began to spread rapidly and integrate into the circulatory system. We have not been able to limit their spread and now the cancer cells have begun to deplete the remaining vital energy of the Mori-dano. An attempt to cure cancer cells also failed due to their rapid spread. If this continues, then Elder Mori... - After interrupting and looking at Yuko, who was standing with her head down and waiting, Akashi pointedly remained silent.

Listening to the man and continuing to scroll through the patient's notes, Samato thought. – What is the physical condition?

Also in a calm tone, Akashi quickly began to list the data on the well-being of his patient. – Weakness, joint pain, loss of appetite, severe chakra exhaustion, heaviness of breathing, weight loss, decreased mental activity...

- I see, I'll go and try to examine him personally. – Closing the book and handing it back to the owner, Samato looked at Yuko, who had become a little animated. – Let's go.

Watching the two children enter the room, Akashi frowned, hearing the quiet conversations of his colleagues behind his back.

- Small, arrogant, bastard. Does he think he's better than us and can cure the elder?

- Ha, I agree, apparently Hanshi-dano spoiled him too much.

Turning around and looking at the muttering ninjas with displeasure, Akashi spoke warningly.

- Shut up, do you think you understand the situation better than a member of the main branch? From what I see, everything that is happening in the clan now has a political hint. For all the time that we have been working together, I will give you advice to sit quietly and keep your head down.

Entering the room, the smell of medicines mixed with the smell of a sickly person got into the nose of the scientist. The room itself was quite large. Cabinets with an abundance of scrolls and books visible in them, rich-looking dressers, presumably filled with clothes. In the center there was a double low bed, near which stood a maid, helpfully wiping sweat from the forehead of the exhausted body lying on the bed, to which a tearful Yuko ran up.

Approaching the bed, Samato, feeling the fading chakra-signature, clearly saw Mori hugged by children's arms. His face which had been thin before, became like a skin-covered skeleton, whose sunken eyes stared at the newcomers in confusion. The slightly yellowed skin was covered with even more spots, and the chest covered with a sheet was heaving with heaviness.

Seeing all this, the scientist smiled to himself, while portraying a worried expression. Approaching the bed, he glanced hintingly at the maid who had taken a couple of steps back, looked uncertainly at Yuko and Mori, thinking. But seeing the faint sending movement of the thinned hand, the girl bowed and left the room.

- Kha, Yuko-chan, you're already a grown-up girl, so stop crying. Especially when there are "outsiders" nearby.  Raising a trembling, emaciated hand, Mori stroked his daughter's head, after which he looked gloomily at Samato, continued. – Little bastard, did you come to watch me die? Ha, You can't wait until I solve all the problems, my path to a clean world is clos, kha-kha... Ugh.

- Father! Please stop treating Samato like that, he's not like that and came to examine you. Why do you hate him so much? He didn't do anything wrong to you, on the contrary, the medicine that helped relieve your pain and allowed you to feel normal was created by him!

Silently staring at his suddenly screaming daughter, Mori sighed with inner sadness.

"She's protecting him… Haa, how painful it is, maybe I really should have accepted help from him. No! Not only is he the son of a Hansha bastard, but his character is also cold. I see that he hides his true face behind a mask of concern! It is impossible for Yuko to fall into his hands! Fortunately, Koh Samui offered to take Yuko to herself"

- Daughter, you don't have to…

- Yuko-chan, I need to inspect your father. Can you please make sure that someone does not enter this room and does not interfere with me.

Without letting Mori finish, Samato quickly approached the girl and put his hand on her head, gently spoke. Startled, Yuko quickly pulled away, looking with confidence at her lover.

 - Yes, don't worry, I'll take care of everything.

- Wait, Yuko-chan, I didn't agree to this little demon examining me!

Just as the girl was about to leave the room, Mori hissed angrily, causing her to freeze uncertainly. Seeing this, Samato depicted a reassuring smile on his face and said.

- Don't worry, you can go, I can negotiate with the elder. You don't need to convince him.

After standing for a few more seconds in uncertainty and wanting to object to her father, Yuko finally decided to trust Samato, left the room, leaving only two people in the room. Smiling a relaxed smile, the scientist took one of the secured scrolls from his hip and spread it out on the floor, putting his hand on it, simultaneously activating the seal with the other.

"Fuinjutsu: Small Concealing Barrier"

With the flow of chakra that penetrated into the scroll, a part of the room was covered by an imperceptible extraneous layer of chakra. Standing up and staring at the formidable expression of the patient, Samato relaxed, without the mask on his face, said.

- Well, "father-in-law", I would be happy to talk about some topics of interest to me.
