"Hey, actually what are you guys doing here?!"

Once again, George complains as Payneth orders him to climb the roof tiles in one of the housing estates in Obsidian. He has just finished climbing the roof tiles at Stairmount's parents' house to put a rope ladder, so that Payneth can find and pull out the Transmitter there - indeed, Chrono has located a Transmitter at the roof above the house where Stairmount's parents dwell in. Now Payneth tells George to climb into another house located a few yards from Stairmount's parents' house. Anyway, they are doing this at night - and after deactivating some close surveillance cameras, of course.

Payneth replies, "No need for you to know about that. Only one thing you should know, you're doing this to accomplish the state duty!"

"Since it's for the state duty, then tell me the truth!"

"I'll tell you later when it has all been settled!"

Clicking his tongue, George is forced to keep climbing up to the highest roof of the tile.

Beside Payneth, Daphne is standing rooted to the ground. Her face turns pale.

"What's going on with you?" Payneth immediately notices the peculiarity in Daphne's expression.

"Ah... I just get that thought... they have installed a transmitter... then they know every move that Stairmount has made here... and what we all have done, as well..." That is what makes her shiver with fear right now.

"Oh, for that matter, just breathe in relief. It's just a Transmitter, not a bug. Transmitter is only used to save the code access. The bug has a more specific shape, if they dare to install a bug, I'm sure that Rivers have already found and destroyed it. Just because it is the Transmitter that they install then Rivers becomes unaware of it."

"Thank goodness..." Daphne lets out a sigh of relief. But only for a moment. "Such a bunch of evil people, they are. They can think of any evil way to control their victims."

A rope ladder protrudes down from the top of the roof. "Here, I've installed the ladder!"

"Thank you." Payneth climbs the ladder swiftly.

"Why do you bother yourself by climbing up here? Just tell me about what I have to do, so you don't have to go all the way up here by yourself." Staring at Payneth who is now looking for the Transmitter, George asks confusedly.

"You don't know about the things you have to search for. Only the programmers who know it." There are lots of bumps on the roof they climb this time, Payneth has to exert many efforts to maintain her balance.

"Geez!... You are really fond of keeping so many secrets! Just make me even more curious!" George snorts. "You know, your mysterious style indeed excites my intelligence soul to dismantle it!"

"Heck, you dare to do that, and you'll soon deal with Daphne's wrath!" Payneth threatens.

Payneth appears to know that George has a thing for Daphne. The threat works, George gives up his intention. He thus whistles, and turns his eyes in another direction.

Payneth smiles inside her mind. That is the main reason why he takes George as the helper, and not the other Enigma agents. Although feeling curious, but because George is longing to win Daphne's heart, then the threat becomes effective to do at him. But about other agents, she doubts its effectiveness.

Finally Payneth finds the Transmitter. Such a very difficult thing to find that stuff even though she uses a detector to look for it. Perhaps the shape of the undulating roof obscures the detector to find it.

"Where else will we go?" George asks as he climbs down the rope ladder.

Payneth stomps her feet on the ground. "We still have a lot of places to visit, such as some places at Topaz and Pearl."

"Wow, we'll cross from northernmost to the southernmost!" George clicks his tongue. "Hey, I need the rocket fare to get paid!"

"Don't worry about the cost, George. I'll cover it." This time Daphne joins the conversation.

"Ah... it's not what I mean... I am just teasing Payneth, you know! How can I let the woman pay for it!" George replies hastily, while Payneth purses her lips. "I can still afford it, really! Just kidding!"

So, after the task in Emerald, especially Obsidian (most of the Transmitters are found here) has been completed, they travel to Topaz and Pearl.

At first, they travel to Topaz. To be more precise, to Millennium University - their dormitory, campus, and even their laboratory of pathogenology. Here, they find it more difficult to seek the Transmitter since the location they should cast about for is much wider.

"Do you know how to find them, Payneth?" Daphne asks Payneth who is seriously staring at the screen of her mini cyber minipad. Their footsteps pound as they are passing through the deserted campus corridor.

"Just follow the signal this tool shows." Payneth doesn't even take her eyes off the screen. "Well, here it is. Hooo, not on the roof this time? Well, it will burden them themselves in the end if they still choose to install the Transmitter in such a high area."

George is about to open his mouth, but when he looks at Daphne's anxious eyes, he quickly abandons the intention one more time.

Payneth steps towards one of the large windows, pulls out the Transmitter plugged in there, observes it, then enters the access code recorded on the Transmitter.

"Good. Now only the laboratory of pathogenology is remained, after that we can travel to Pearl. Hmmm, we won't be able to get there that easily. We have to take masquerades as laboratory workers. Let's find out which members we can use to disguise ourselves." Payneth searches on her ultra-cyber minipad. "We can use them. Jennifer Howard and Dennis Carousel. They're on vacation right now. We can pretend that they want to pick up something they left behind. Come on George. We disguise ourselves."

"Eh? How about me?" Daphne asks.

"You can wait in the garden, Daphne. Your Jupiterian language isn't very fluent, and they can still find Neptunian accent in your words, vulnerable to getting suspected. Just leave this to us."

Daphne nods slightly. "Alright, then. Take care."
