Chapter 191: Mind Chaotic

Uhhhhh...well, as I could remember till this time, one week had passed since the previous pissed-off incident. Reimi was still fine despite the gunshot but she could not move and was still recovering by lying on the bed, sigh...
Now we were all inside the Palace, I kept isolating myself in the room that Shera told me to be my previous private room when I was living here. Reimi's recovery room was next to us so it was a good sign when we could visit her without struggles...
Hatano had fled till this time, only Sarah could contact her but she was only willing to appear on the screen, not answering any questions. Regarding the school's military training, now I was in charge to manage it. Hatano seemed to be very...I didn't know for sure. After shooting Reimi, tricking me by sending an impostor, she "apologized" and left me in charge when she was called by Sarah.
A week had passed since the incident but my memory hadn't returned...but at least I did not feel anxious about Shera and others anymore. The nightmares I used to dream had gone...but I was facing a bit struggle to reunite my relationships with the people in the Palace, quite tired.
I would have to go to school in the morning to train the students...because a guy who claimed to be my "brother-in-law" forced me to do that. Despite having no training plan in my head, I would have to do my job. So maybe I would re-read the military training methods Hatano and my old self composed for each unit before proceeding to do anything else.
Shera was now in charge of taking care of paperwork of Veta, she would stay in my room when I was working in the school to solve the papers. About Sarah...I would contact her when I need, she was focusing on her land's affairs, but promised to report to me about her older sister's calls.
So tired...I must continue to sleep...the dawn was about to come but I must take more time to have enough sleep.

"Cawess, wake up man!". "Shit, we have to move him here! We don't have enough missiles!". - I felt my body was very heavy for some reason, beside me were many yells and explosions...and also sounds like gunshots
"Sulivan, drag him here!". "War Sky 4 - 2, assist air support! We cannot take it anymore, help us ASAP!". "Use whatever you have, even their weapons! Use B28 quickly!". - My body felt to be dragged backward by someone, I was very confused about my situation
After being dragged by a strange person, I was put to sit beside some object, screamings and gunshots kept sounding. Something was very wrong with me...as if I was in a dream or something...not good at all, I don't have any memory of this!
"Wake the fuck up, Johnny!". - A voice called me when my eyes were closing, I struggled when could not open my eyes and my body felt to be a bit paralyzed
"No wounds at all, it's good!". - I felt something strange, someone suddenly touched all around my body as if they were checking on my wound
"Holy shit, he cannot open his eyes or something....". "Gimme some water, Shizu!".
After that yell for a few seconds, my face suddenly was full of water pouring down from above and I managed to open my eyes. Meanwhile, I used my right forearm to wipe my face and then noticed my sleeves were full of wet dust and soil...so strange!
"Hey, Cawess!". - That was the guy who called me, he suddenly grabbed my shoulders and made me startled because of calling me constantly
This guy...was black, a soldier or something because he was wearing a combat uniform, which was made of cloth or something, cannot know. Strangely that he carried objects like a pistol and a big gun in his armor. Those things had straps on their bodies and he was carrying those guns on his shoulders.
"Nod!". - I nodded to make him understand
"Alright, you stay behind while I cover you, homie". - After giving me the order, the black guy pushed me back to a...metal strange shaped carriage?
I was pushed back and now was cowering my body behind a metal carriage, beside me were other soldiers who were armed like him. Now I was wondering what kind of situation I was facing. Totally blinded about this incident so I tried to figure out, accidentally that I saw my body was also armed with a pistol and a long gun too.
"Cawess, what the fuck are you doing? You nuts?!". - Suddenly someone tapped my back a few times so I turned behind to look at him
In front of me was now a white guy whose hair was blonde, he was also a soldier like others...I must do something to explain...
"Uhhh, What?". - Totally didn't know anything, someone please answer!
"Heads down!". - The white guy asked me to keep my head down and he immediately did that while pulling my head down
"Shit...the situation's very hot, they're firing at us that terrifyingly but why did you come out to shoot them?!". - When both of us were lowering our heads below the body of the metal carriage, this guy cursed me
"Shizu, found the sniper?!". - After cursing me, he said loud toward a metal carriage on the right side, so I looked in the direction he was speaking to
I suddenly saw a woman soldier who was crouching while pointing her long gun out from a hard spot hole in the metal carriage. She looked very similar to...Hatano?! What the hell was happening here? What she was doing in this place?!
"Ie (No)...". - Shizu kept pointing her long gun toward the area while holding her breath, she kept looking through a block that was attached to the gun
"...". "...". "...". "...". "...". "...". - Shizu kept holding her breath while gunshots and yellings kept sounding around the place
"Bang!...Target's down". - After a while of a long silence, she shot someone on the other side and then signaled to us that the enemy had been eliminated
After hearing her signal, the white guy who I used to speak with earlier, fled behind me and spoke to a young soldier. Beside the young guy was a man who seemed to be a leader or something, the young soldier was speaking to someone by using a wire strapped to his neck.
"War Sky 4 - 2, this is Footer 2 - 1, the place is hot! I repeat, the place is hot!". "Immediately give us air support, they're tearing us apart!". - The young soldier spoke to the transmission item, I would temporarily call it like that because my memory did not have anything with it
"Footer 2 - 1, standing by". "Air support's coming, we're loading in, stand by for firing". - A voice from the transmission item replied to the young soldier
"Ask the radio to fire the remaining B28s, those gases will be useful for us, Timmy". - While speaking to the transmission item, the young soldier named Timmy was ordered by his Commander to do something
"Yes, Sir Haris". "Uhhh...War Sky 4 - 2...uhhh, use all B28s you have". "The coordinate is uhh, uhh...148906".
"Roger that, Footer 2 - 1". "Standing by, firing in 5 seconds, prepare yourself".
"Are you nuts, Sulivan? Look at Cawess, he was acting like a drug shit!". "Run back to him, tell him to wear the gas mask!". - Commander Haris later scolded the white guy named Sulivan so he ran back to me
"What are you doing, Cawess? You gone nuts or something? Don't behave like that, wear the gas mask". - After running back to me, Sulivan immediately wore a black gas mask which was strapped to his belt
"Soldiers, Marines, wear Alrotz gas masks quickly! Those guys are about to gift us some gases!". - Shizu yelled loudly toward the ones who were shooting and then ran back to my position
"What the fuck you're doing, Pambo?! Stop wasting the ammo, we're lacking it!". - Sulivan yelled at the black soldier who protected me earlier...maybe I should get used to calling their names
"Stop behaving like that, you fucking nuts! Want to see nude chicks or something?!". "Slap!". - Shizu suddenly slapped me while scolding me...but please explain to me the situation, goddammit!
Shizu had already worn the gas mask, Pambo shortly returned to us with a gas mask too, only me was not. Suddenly, when I was pulling out the gas mask which was strapped to my neck, I looked up at the sky and saw the sky was dark...maybe it was newly dark, I think so.
But the dark sky was being lighted up by a lot of red floating objects, also a lot of white arrowhead objects could be seen flying toward us.
Those things were flying at a very fast speed, but an object suddenly lost its way and stabbed down to the soil beside us...shit. The remaining objects flew straight and stabbed down to the other side...but I felt something was very wrong with my position.
As the arrowhead object touched the soil, its metal body suddenly leaked out some green smoke, the smoke was very dense and much. Strangely that I was curious about the smoke so I stopped wearing the gas mask to look at it for longer...I was wondering why I have to keep my distance from it.
"Had you fallen from the sky, Cawess?!". - Sulivan suddenly slapped me harder than Shizu, he shortly wore me the Alrotz gas mask
After wearing the gas mask, the smoke spread to the entire area where the soldiers and the Marines were standing in. The smoke was too dense so I could not see much through the gas mask, but at least I could see a bit.
"Cough! Cough! Cough! Cough!". "Arrghhh! Arrrghhhhhh! Cough! Cough!". - The gunshots and the yellings had stopped but now I heard sounds of coughing and dying
"War Sky, target hit...but friendly fire, stop shooting now!". - Commander Haris asked the radio to stop firing the smoke called B28
"Soldiers, move to the left side". "Marines, move to the right side, we'll eliminate all of them, spare no SRs". - Commander later ordered the Marines and the soldiers to move out but I was still hesitant, didn't know what to do
The others stepped up so I also did that and walked with them toward the road but on the right side instead of the left side like other soldiers. While walking beside my crewmates, I looked around and saw some soldiers lying on the ground, coughing out blood...poor those dying.
They were all wounded soldiers or something, they coughed out blood while their skins were tearing out, their veins popping out blood. Maybe this was the danger when we touched the B28 green gas, those soldiers were dying painfully...I should have done something to them.
"Sorry, man". "Bang!". - Commander was walking behind us, I looked behind to see him and saw he shot a soldier while mourning to him
Because the green smoke's perimeter was not too much so we managed to get out of it a short time after walking. Sulivan and Pambo were walking forward to me, they whispered to each other while peeking behind at me as if I was strange to them.
"Hey, Cawess! Something's wrong with you, isn't it?". "Did your head get shot? You're behaving like someone falling down from the sky, y' know?". - The guy named Sulivan asked me
"Uhhh...". - What should I explain to them?
"Shizu...protect him, everything is going shit right now". - Cawess turned his head to Shizu and ordered her, later pointed his head to Pambo
"Who'll go?".
"Me, homie...".
"Check your M249, that baby will surely run out of ammo". - Sulivan spoke to Pambo, he later led the way alongside other Marines
We were now moving forward to the area where we used to have a firefight, moving slowly, passing each object to cover ourselves. Despite didn't know anything, I gradually imitated those Marines, I pulled up the long gun I was having while pointing it around the area.
"Check your ammo, Cawess...don't play dumb like earlier, kiddo". "Your rifle looks to be a bit dirty, it's kind of old, don't let dust get into it, or it'll be jammed". - Shizu had an appearance very similar to Hatano but she looked different from her a bit...kind of not having her emotionless face, I guessed so
As a natural reflection, I pulled down the thing which was called the gun's magazine and put it in a pouch on my belt. Though I didn't remember anything about it. Also, I swiftly pulled out another magazine and attached it to my rifle and later pulled back the thing I remembered to be its actuator to load the rifle.
As I could remember when I lost my memory, Shera, Sarah and Reimi tried to do everything to help me to recover...but they failed. Luckily that I learned something that they managed to teach me, the example was about my weapons' uses.
As I could learn, Reimi and Sarah asked me if I could remember how to use my guns or not and I did it successfully...just only forgot all of the guns' names and their uses. Well, they retaught me all those things so I could now remember the names of these weapons.
As I remembered, I was holding an M4A1 or some rifle that had a similar shape to it, my right side belt had a pistol strapped to it. Not an M1911 pistol but one which looked to be new.
The Marines were heading to the area from the right side while the soldiers were heading in from the left side. After a short time walking, we had come to the area but the sky was now dark, the popping red floating things had stopped lighting so the way we were seeing was dark.
"Hmmm...anyone has any flares left?". - While crouching behind us, Commander Haris asked the Marines if they had "flares" or not, I was wondering what was a flare
"Me, Sir". - A Marine who stood behind Haris gave him a dark red small object, it looked like a stick
"Good job". "Wait a minute...ummm, what's about the others behind us?". - Commander asked the Marine while looking behind him a few times for some reason
"They're gathering weapons, Sir...I've already sent one to guard them".
"Good...ammo is very important to us". "Shit...my mic got shit again". "Timmy...come here, Private". - After whispering, Haris touched the wire which was covering his neck but later shook his head tiredly while leaning toward Private Timmy
"Yes, Sir?".
"Call the other nuts, they're waiting for us for the ambush".
"Okay...". "Grounder 5 - 5, are you in the position yet?".
"We are, Footers, give us the other".
"Ready to fire when we do it".
"Copy, roger".
After giving the order to the soldiers, the Marines beside me checked on their rifles and then crouched behind the broken "metal carriages" as if to prepare for the ambush. The place we were standing in was a big city or something, on the streets which had many destroyed buildings. The area we were about to attack was just a house that seemed to be a residential house, which roof had gone.
"Alright, pals, listen up...move fast inside and eliminate all, capture if we can". - Commander Haris asked us to follow his order while pulling out a spark from the flare
After pulling out the spark, the red flare suddenly popped out some smoke and Haris threw it powerfully to the house and the scene had been cleared forward to us. After having the signal, the soldiers and the Marines stood up straightly while pointing their rifles toward the house...I also did that.
The flare kept glowing in red but we saw no one inside or outside of the house, just corpses all around the place. Because I didn't know which side I was fighting against so I would go silent for now, maybe there would be a way to distinguish between my side and the enemy side.
"Hey, put the gun down now!". - A Marine yelled as he saw an enemy soldier who was previously wounded and lying on the house's stairs, he was standing up painfully, trying to lift his rifle
"Surrender now! We have you surrounded! Do not resist!". "Surrender, kid! Don't do anything stupid! Do not hold the gun, put it down now!". "Immediately drop it!". - Many yells could be heard sounding around my ears and from the other side, the Marines and the soldiers were persuading the wounded soldier to give up
"Drop him!". - Commander Haris rejected our decision and ordered us to shoot him
"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!". - Many gunshots from both sides shot the soldier
The soldier was shot painfully and died terrifyingly, he immediately dropped dead after one shot but the gunshots kept coming out. After the gunshots stopped, the poor guy was just a corpse. His right hand was nearly torn out because a bullet hit it, blood kept draining on the stairs.
"Breaching, breaching!". - The Marines and the soldiers later charged at the house and walked inside
I didn't know anything, didn't know what to do next, so I just followed them from behind while scouting outside of the house while going in. We shortly moved to the living room. As I said earlier, the roof had gone and a B28 arrowhead object had stabbed right into the floor, many soldiers died beside it.
"Air's clear, remove Alrotzs". - Because B28 poison gas had gone so Commander Haris asked us to remove the gas masks, some of us removed them but some kept them
"You two go over there". "Sulivan and Pambo, upstairs". "You two, the kitchen". "Cawess and Shizu, the bathroom". - Commander Haris asked the Marines and the soldiers to head in other directions to find the enemies
I immediately nodded and followed Shizu to the left side of the room, I walked behind her for safety, I guessed. While walking to the bathroom, Shizu kept trying to pull down the block which was strapped to her rifle or something but failed.
"Useless...cannot remove the scope...". - Shizu immediately stopped using her rifle but pulled out her pistol to use
"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!". "Clear!". - Suddenly, upstairs had gunshots and later a signal had been sent to us from downstairs, which meant up there was safe
I ignored the signal and kept walking to the bathroom alongside Shizu. While walking toward it, a hand suddenly leaned a rifle out from the room...shit!
"Gunshots! Gunshots! Gunshots!". - Many gunshots had been sounded, some enemies had shot us blindly
"Gunshots! Gunshots! Gunshots!". - Both of us crouched down a bit to avoid bullets while pointing our rifles toward the bathroom
"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!". - Because the enemy did not face us so we shot the wall a few times and then headed inside
"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!". - As we came in, two soldiers were lying on the floor, they were still alive so Shizu shot them all to death
"Clear!". - Shizu yelled out to let Commander Haris know, she later turned around while I was examining the corpses
I got it now...these soldiers also wore jungle uniform features like ours but with darker features, their symbols were also different from ours. We had the symbols of the United States while they had the symbols of the flag which looked similar to ours, only the stars were in the middle.
Their names...after a short time examining them, I decided to call them the Republic States soldiers as a temporary name. These RS soldiers were all dead while other US Marines and soldiers were checking the house...maybe I should join these guys soon.
"Bang! Bang! Bang! Clear, Sir!". - Other yells sounded
"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!". "Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!". "All clear!". - After a short time later, the outside announced to us that the house was fully safe
Shizu later walked out of the bathroom while I was staying inside the room, I wanted to be alone for a few moments. My M4 was empty so I reloaded it once again and accidentally met my face in a mirror in the room...wait a minute, who was this man?!
I mean...he looked to be me but his face was younger, also skinny, pale. Meanwhile my previous body was quite stout, something was wrong. Maybe this body was a war body, a long time fighting with a lack of food would make it become like this, I guess.

"Cawess, what the fuck you're doing in there?!". - Commander Haris suddenly called me when I was examining this new body
"I'm coming out, Sir". - Maybe I should go outside, cannot stay here for any longer
I didn't have much time to think so I walked out of the bathroom with a tired face. Some US Marines and soldiers could be seen sitting around the house to rest, those guys must have been tired from a long time fighting.
"Roger, War Sky". "Understood, we'll wait for the order from the Headquarters". "North 24 New York has been cleared, I repeat, North 24 New York has been cleared, SRs have been cleared, no one alive". - Commander Haris was answering the call from the radio while staring at me
"Ummm...wait a minute, Sir". "Don't just stand there, Cawess...get your ass over there quick". - I heard the order from Haris so I nodded and then sat alone randomly in a dark corner
"Any problems, Lt. Haris?". - The radio suddenly recalled Haris
"No, Sir".
"Footer 2 - 1 and Grounder 5 - 5, good job. We're loading in another unit to replace you, wait there till we come".
"Roger, copy that, War Sky". "Footer and Grounder out".
Commander Haris later asked some other Marines to guard the house, he shortly moved to the kitchen to rest there. While sitting in the dark corner, I noticed that some soldiers and Marines were holding rectangular shape objects as if they were checking on those things.
"Sir, we lost the internet again...can't we keep it for a bit longer?". - Some guys reported to Haris that they could not use those rectangular things
"It'll be available in a few minutes, guys...don't worry". "Won't be shut off for 3 hours like before, but the internet is very like shit in this warzone, don't complain to me".
I kept spreading out my ears to hear and understand the details of their conversations but was completely blinded about it so I ignored them right away. This dream was too real to be a dream...I could feel things and stuff...just hope that I would wake up soon...shit!
"Why do you sit here, Caw?". - While lowering my face, Sulivan, Pambo and Shizu stood in front of me
They later put their weapons beside them and sat beside me as if they were friends of this Cawess man...poor them. Because the one who sat here was not Cawess but John Rigen...I didn't know them at all...except for Shizu, the one who was very similar to Hatano's appearance.

"Well, I'll brief the mission to ya". "The SRs, or I would say the Republic States Military's now growing up their power, so they attacked us to New York". "But we managed to resist their attack so we're now pushing them back". "Our mission's to wipe out their remaining forces, we've done it here but have to stay, awaiting for orders".
"Understand, homie?". - Alright...so I could understand a bit now, we were at war against a hostile belligerent

"...". - Shizu stared at me for a few seconds before making a hand signal, her thumb and her index fingers were made in a circle while she put it in the middle of her mouth, slowly making...lewd sounds

"Go see if they're friendly or not, if not, immediately retreat to the eastern subway, or t-". "Oh my fucking god, get out of there quick and head to the subway, Footer Grounder! "Sir, I cannot contact War Sky anymore, they must have been troubled!". - He later turned his head toward Commander Haris
"Marines, soldiers! We're in trouble, let's get out qu-". "Gunshots! Gunshots! Gunshots!". - Suddenly, when Sir Haris was making a speech to us, the windows terribly shattered because someone was shooting at us from outside
"Gunshots! Gunshots! Gunshots! Lower your head, immediately follow me!". - The gunshots were very dense so all of us crawled on the floor while hearing Harris's order
"Gunshots! Gunshots! Gunshots! Gunshots!". - Because of the hard situation, I immediately followed Haris to the back door
"Gunshots! Gunshots!". - Some Marines and soldiers fought back but shortly ended up lying on the floor
"Run, run, run!". - Commander Haris opened the back door and waited for us to go with him
"Gunshots! Gunshots!". - I risked the situation and stopped crawling, immediately sprinting to the back door
I later managed to get out of the house, the others also made it like me though I didn't know if Shizu and others had made it or not. While I was looking around to search for them, accidentally looked at the left corner and saw an RS soldier running toward me.
"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!". - My hands naturally reacted against the threat, I pointed my M4 and shot the guy, he dropped death instantly
"Go, go, go! We're the only ones survive, follow me!". - Haris yelled at us and started running, so I also followed him
"Gunshots! Gunshots! Gunshots!". - While running out of the house, many gunshots on the streets pointed at us but I managed to have no wounds
"Boom!". - As we made it out of the house for a few seconds, a very big explosion came out and destroyed it, luckily we made it out or we would have been...
"Gunshots! Gunshots! Gunshots!". "Immediately to the subway, we have to move there!". - Commander Haris later moved to a metal carriage to cover and asked us to follow him to the subway
"Arrrgghhhhhhhhhh!". - Suddenly when I was cowering myself beside Haris, my head suddenly got grazed by a bullet or something so I felt and paralyzed
"Cawess, holy shit!". "Shizu, drag him with us!". "Holy shit, grenade!". - The yells around me were very chaotic, I felt like to be dragged by someone but my mind was very blurred right now...
"Boom!".
