A majestic dark forest.

A loud wheeze, a nervous huff, and a forceful puff.

A swiftly receding scenery.

Branches cracking, ancient trees falling.

Mayhem unadulteratedly unleashed.

*Roaaaar!*

A cry of absolute frenzy.

Heavy tread approaching.

With each step, a small earthquake was manifesting.

Dignified tension building.

Pupils in slits.

A clade of Felidae thoroughly concentrated on escaping.

*Crash!*

Another tree fell.

*Meow!* *Nyaa!*

A familiar feline watched as a giant monstrosity was inevitably approaching.

Their meandering was unfortunately not appreciated.

The woods were not effectively blocking as intended.

An urgent decision had to be made, for their time was slowly losing its weight.

*Growl!*

She slowed in pace.

The overlapping canopies of trees blotted the skies, shading the environment in darkness.

Heartbeat accelerated.

A crucial decision was finally decided.

Slow silent steps.

A stop in place.

*Meooow!*

A cry of warning.

A new inspiration was found, a concept built from equivalent sacrifice.

A new emotion was aroused, for all positions of power were marked with a price.

A responsible undertaking, for she was the top of the pride.

Trunks fell in succession, companions running in swift abandon, concerned pupils watching her general direction.

The darkness receded in each closing action.

With each step, warm light reached the depths of her location, opening up a wide vision.

Melting all her concerns, spreading a comfortable notion.

Unfortunately, the sentiment was incongruous.

For the cause was a gigantic monstrous aberration.

*Roooaaar!*

………

*Crunch!*

Branches cracking, twigs snapping.

A stable step was taken in the clearing.

Echoes of unworldly roars were disturbing, an ominous premonition unearthing.

The reptilian traversed the shrubs, grass, and growths.

A stable step at each pace, of detailed scouting in each place.

*Crash!*

A sound managed to reach his dwelling, not covered by the noisy rush of the stream.

A feeling of utter tension, an instinct blaring in conjunction.

He had to reach a quick decision.

A step, a hop, a tread, a run!

A scenery blurring in rapid changes.

He passed each majestic tree, not intending to hide his trace.

For he felt that there was no time to waste.

Darkness was receding, light was all over the clearing.

Felled trees were all over his sight, the land cracked, stumps uprooted.

A forest destroyed in utter mayhem.

*Roooaaar!*

A monstrous beast was found as the culprit.

In the center of his perspective, a gigantic aberration, a beast amalgamation, surrounded by broken trees.

A wide torso, a long snout.

Heavy feet, short arms, and a long tail.

Giant blisters covered its skin, muscular growths squirming.

A failed mutation of wings, a structure built without rational thinking.

A transfiguration went awry, a failed red-eyed chaotic entity.

The Void’s unintended masterpiece… a violet monstrosity.

*Boom!*

It felled another tree, chasing another peer

It moved in heavy motion, spreading mad oppression.

At the end of its sight, he found one unsettling depiction.

Of his adversary, stopping in indication.

Rays of light slowly surrounded her in magnificent proportion.

An unwelcomed shock was uncovered, rippling in his cold-blooded emotions.

For she was radiant in action, a decisive confrontation, a breathtaking representation.

A moving sacrifice in motion.

Of a sublime woman in glorious revelation.

………

*Rooaar!*

A heavy tread, a massive strike.

She hopped and stepped on a stump.

A bend in her legs, a kick in place.

A recoil sent her far away.

*Bang!*

Trees shredded from the base, their fragments splashed all over the place.

Another thrilling maneuver was perfectly initiated.

Mystical claws materialized, blocking dangerous debris from reaching her side.

Rapid breathing.

She was now approaching a dangerous beginning.

For when the felids ran out of the place, the total attention of this abomination would only focus on her pace.

A hopeless scenario awaited if she never found a way to retaliate.

Something she knew the moment the decision was made.

An expected conclusion, a proud destination.

For her effort allowed her companions to break away from their untimely fate and welcome new hopeful options.

Heavy breathing.

She hopped in another direction, hiding behind each trunk’s cover.

A sudden silence hovered.

For her community was finally out of the void’s perception.

*Thud!*

A heavy tread.

A slow-moving dread.

It stopped in place, focusing on her location.

Eyes turning pitch black from deep red.

A ticking timer was seemingly initiated.

*Boom!*

It charged straight ahead, mounting grave pressure in her direction.

Every obstacle on its path was torn and shredded into pieces.

Its silent pupils gleamed in malicious tension.

Tracking her minute movements; observing every change in her posture.

Everything slowed down.

She materialized her claw, enlarging its size.

A turn, a grip, a broken trunk was in hand.

An agile rotation, a centrifugal toss!

*Bang!*

She moved concurrently, rapidly sprinting, evading.

Taking the tiny window for proper hiding.

Unfortunately, the monstrosity wasn’t taking it.

An unsettling change was happening, for there was not enough time for its taking.

*Crack!*

The monster stopped abruptly in place, creating an instantaneous burden on the earth, using its torso for a slam!

A movement guided, not something an irrational beast would understand.

For its deep dark pupils regained a semblance of clarity, a short burst of life’s tenacity.

Now a danger escalating.

*Growl!*

She widened her eyes, and swiftly rolled on the ground, evading the strike.

Another strike was arriving, a subsequent tail incoming.

Memories of bygone moments were summoned on her cognition, of a sacrificial decision, a change in her frame of emotion.

Cognitive frame substantiated

A mystical claw covered in different natural runes was manifested.

Braced for impact, ready for any resulting consequence.

*Boom!*

She uncontrollably flew from the rebound, all direct damage was negated.

The claw broke into countless pieces behaving like glass, shards of varying lengths were floating in the air.

All her energy was siphoned from her position, injecting each fragment, changing their flying direction.

Directly stabbing the tail in successive onslaughts.

*Rooaar!*

A perfect riposte.

The aberration shrieked in agonizing horror.

For the damage was not just from the shard’s protrusions, the heavy slam was also included in the reflection.

A cognitive singularity manipulation.

An ability arising from her realization.

A fleeting hope, followed by crushing desperation.

For all stored singularity were used in synchronization.

*Thud!*

A heavy step.

A deep dark pupil turning red.

A smoldering anger rose from its depths.

Sanity was receding in unfortunate circumstances.

Now, a final charge locked its doomed destination.

Of deep shadows, rapidly covering her position.

………

A fay was strolling, playfully flying in the air, observing the activity of the forest.

He perused each nook, each shrub, and each tree, looking for any interesting activity.

“Eh~? Keepy~?”

A loud crash caught his attention, a novel event, a timely discovery

“Keepah~!”

He flew swiftly, evading each growth, moving past rushing felids.

A wide clearing was reached.

“Aiyah!~”

Just right in time, watching as a funny-looking beast was about to crash into a familiar face.

Everything slowed down.

He covered his eyes with his fingers, leaving just enough gap.

He watched as the wide-open maw was about to go down in a chomp.

He was wide-eyed as a sudden shell materialized blocking its downward path.

*Crash!*

A perfect block.

Another familiar face swiftly traversed the distance and scooped the feline out of the way.

“Keepy~!”

He clapped in excitement, tilting his head as he observed the reptilian perfectly block each strike.

“Eh~? Eeewy~!”

An instinctual disgust.

The void aberration was nearing collapse, its body mutated, forming sharp horns on its head.

Slamming straight ahead.

*Crash!*

The shield was broken.

“Aiyaah~!”

The fay rushed into action, disintegrating into specks of light, swirling in the air, fusing with the vegetation on the ground.

The foliage grew rapidly, simulating an aberrant evolution via mystical force.

Offshoots grew thicker, branches lengthen, twisting like a rope, wrapping the abomination.

Tightly locking its whole body in place.

Halting its motion.

Powerless to retaliate.

Specks of light materialized near the aberrant growth’s pointed ends.

They twirl in the air and formed back into the fay.

He scrutinized his masterpieces, nodding in satisfaction.

His face turned stern, watching the void’s attempted actions.

A tiny humanoid, pointing at its disproportionately large nose.

“Keepy~! La~!”

A grim scolding.

Practicing what their majesty was teaching.

An apparent knowledge he learned by listening to the monarch’s bragging.

Sometimes, communication was just enough to solve any perceived fighting.

Unfortunately, not everyone followed the same logic.

*Grrr!*

A guttural roar.

It kept on twitching, applying heavy force, trying to destroy its growing shackles.

Its crazed eyes slackened.

The skin was cracking, tainted blood was overflowing.

The void’s influence waning.

An abrupt halt of scolding.

“Eh~?”

He watched as the gigantic abomination suddenly stopped responding.

Dark mystical threads were nowhere in sight.

An unusual transformation, a foreboding notion.

The fay was stuck in motion.

Fingers on his chin, brooding in place, wondering if his practice was just a tad bit too successful.

………

A silent clearing.

The racket of critters unknowingly missing.

The sound of fluid dripping echoed in the surroundings.

A noise awakened the reptilian from his stupor.

He slowly brought down the feline from his embrace, placing her down, supported by a stump.

His eyes were still dull from the impact.

A cognition was shattered, for a ferocious monster was punished by a tiny critter.

A growing dissonance in utter incomprehension.

A new rising awareness of what was actually possible.

*Hiss!*

He slowly covered the feline with his back.

As far as he was concerned, this tiny critter was as threatening as the monstrous creature.

“Eh~ Keepy~!”

The fay opened his eyes wide, a new change was happening.

The void carcass was slowly disintegrating.

*Meooow!*

A cry of warning.

The reptilian’s pupil constricted.

For a dark mystical thread was found squirming on the fay’s wings.

Pollution initiated.

“Eeek~! Keeepaah~!”

The tiny creature waved his hand in rapid oscillation, trying to get rid of the disgusting chaos.

He flew around in circles, swiftly turning corners, trying everything he could think of, going back and forth.

Unfortunately, it was for naught.

At last, there was only one last possible solution.

“Keeepy~!”

*Boom!*

The fay flew rapidly into the sky with a speed so fast it cannot be followed by the naked eye.

Leaving the reptilian and the feline with wide eyes, breathing heavily... exhausted.

A devastated clearing, a broken forest.

A rising ominous assessment.

For this apex predator was never the only one contaminated.

………

Clear blue skies.

Clouds rushed passed the scenery.

A wide panorama of plains, mountains, and rivers.

A rapidly approaching jungle.

*Boom!*

A creature passed by, flying too fast in the opposite direction.

*Kraa!*

The raven twisted in the air, avoiding the panicking fay.

It called louder and louder until the tiny humanoid was outside of its perception.

*Kraa!*

It continued its journey, observing every activity on the ground intently.

Moving past a stream, it saw fauna transformed into different aberrations, monsters.

It watched as these monsters devastate the environment, liken to a moving disaster.

Every destroyed place was observed, leaving a trace of its voice.

*Kraa!*

An ominous warning.

It passed by another brook, observing another group.

A different kind, a pack moving towards the outside.

Humanoid creatures followed by canines traversed the foliage.

Leaving the cradle, looking for life in a distant land.

*Howl!*

A canine observed the passing raven, howling.

*Howl!* *Hoowl!* *Woof!*

They howled in succession, a concerted effort, driving all dissimilar animals away.

*Caww!*

The raven flew past, trees receding rapidly, ignoring the odd sound.

Streams, creeks, meadows, thickets, groves.

Passing by a distant cliff, it found another group of humanoid creatures followed by fowls.

Another community in departure, moving in the opposite direction.

An unconscious decision, avoiding the void’s increasing concentration.

Briefly crossing eyes with the vigilant leader of the flock, the raven continued its voyage.

It felt that its destination was nearing.

A mission was on the verge of initiating.

…………

Dense canopies blocked the sky, darkness shrouded the environment.

They traversed the lush undergrowth, evading each protruded foliage, alert for any threat.

Felidae surrounded each humanoid, acting as a scout, each with its duties.

Only one creature was incongruent with the surroundings.

The leader of the pride observed her adversary from the corner of her eyes.

Till now, she still cannot understand what pushed him to intervene and why he saved her from her plight.

A new relationship she tried to make sense of, outside of kin and prey.

An ambiguous boundary, between friends and foes.

A different plight, coming from a different kind.

*Thud!*

A heavy tread.

A sudden silence.

Each of them halted, trying to minimize each action.

Small felids hopped in the branches, scouting ahead.

Tension was building for the experience was still fresh.

A hold of breath.

A small felid came back, a soft purr.

It pointed its paw towards another undergrowth.

They swiftly switched courses, following another route.

Unfortunately, another small felid came running pointing at another grove.

An ominous premonition was building.

*Kraa!*

A sudden loud cry.

The group jumped on alert, scrutinizing a fast moving object approaching.

A raven swooped down and landed on a branch.

Its eyes changed from dull into sharp, magical runes manifested in its veneer, observing each humanoid intently.

It slowly crossed vision with the leader of the pride.

*Uproar!*

Rays of light gathered in the raven’s feathers, a consequence of spilled singularity in action.

Runes were manifesting in succession, diffusing information.

Chaotic Insights and inspirations were flooding the feline’s cognition.

A new way of communication was parsed, a combination of runes.

A specific evolutionary ladder was discovered, written in the language of rules.

A mission was entrusted.

A shadow of their future.

For the gears of fate were now in motion, a precise machine working for a specific notion.

For there was a world in slumber, waiting for the materialization of a new order.

.........

(Author's Notes.)

A rough start to arc 2.

I was kind of hesitating to write the void encounter and the subsequent results and was thinking of maybe just giving it a short statement and moving on.

But, can't help it.

Still wrote it down.

Now I don't know if that was a good decision or not.

Fight scenes are good and all, just hope it did not come across as overdone.

Well, if it is, I might just rewrite this piece when the verdict is down.

Anyway, here it is! The "beginning" of the beginning of Arc 2.

The necessary bedding I suppose.

If you found any grammatical errors, typos, or anything you want to share and tell me, just comment down below.

I appreciate any form of feedback really.

See you in the next chapter.
